( Sent from ABC 21 WPTA )

If THIS is cancelled...a BIG DEAL with many HS kids and parents....I am not at all sure that FB will be played this fall...

I am not a fan of a decision like this happening at the State level. If a local community and/or school board decides like we are seeing with sports and schools, then ok. I am sad for the kids in all of those situations, but it still should be a local call.

Again. Focus on the facts and the symptoms.
Why has the MSM shifted from talking about “deaths” and moved to the “cases”?

Or hospitalizations...you know the ORIGINAL data point about why we were shutting down back in March.

This? Pulled from https://www.coronavirus.in.gov/ at about 7am on 7/18/2020. Seems as though we are have just gone through a month long uptick like what we saw early on.  If that is the case, the next few month should see another large scale drop, but that takes time.

Yet nowhere near “maximum capacity”, especially in the Hoosier State.

The IHSAA cant do that. The members are are interconnected. The IHSAA must decide as a group for ALL of its members......

You cant have 58 school districts making 58 different decisions with different levels of education about the issue and different levels of toleration of risk.  You get extreme decisions.    And mistakes that, in this case, would be contagious.

There needs to be a state-wide call.  Soon.

Does this mean that school systems will be required to comply with this?

It does not override local decisions. School districts still have the choice to allow kids to play or not.

hospitalizations trending upward(see below what wabashalwaysfights posted) and hopefully won't follow suit with whats happening South and West https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2020/jul/18/covid-19-cases-us-icu-beds-south-west

back in March more people took precautions and the curve went down...today, not so much (see above link)

I wish for the best but doubtful !

There is a difference between Census and Admissions hospitalization data..........you posted Census...below is daily Admissions,  Yesterday, 4 admissions.  While there is some variability, the overall trend for admissions is positive.

Correct.  Here is a more in depth look at ICU and ventilator capacities (one, "Today," is current metrics, the other is by day over time), which are also telling. It would seem that the state of Indiana is not currently, nor was it ever really close, to a shortage on either ventilators or ICU beds.  Of course that can change, I suppose...
