South had the ball first and after a couple of first downs their drive stalled near midfield. DC got a big running play on their first play from scrimmage and went deep in Panther territory, but South held and DC kicked a 40 yard FG.

DC has the ball on 3rd and fairly long around midfield. With South's primary kicker limited to kickoffs, the Panthers backup punter has given DC good field position on short punts.

Decatur Central 10 Bloomington South 0 (7:57, 2nd)

South had a 4th and half-yard at their 35 yard line and they went for it with the QB faking a handoff which didn't fool anyone and he was sacked, giving DC the ball at around the South 30 yard line. DC was able to score with the short field to take a 10 point lead. DC defense has done a terrific job on the Panthers so far.

Snider dodges a bullet on muffed punt return, M-ville misses FG. I don't see much "city speed" difference between the 2, actually Snider looks quicker

Defenses for both teams have kept this to a low scoring game so far. The play in the 2nd qtr where South went for it on 4th and a half-yard at their 35 yard line, and it was a fake to the RB in which Alley the QB was sacked, was the difference in the first half and it gave DC a short field TD. If Alley had actually handed the ball off the RB they would have easily had the first down. That's the way it goes and it's still anyone's game going into the 2nd half. DC gets the ball when the 2nd half starts.
