  1. Great win for the Cardinals. Will it be enough for them to get into the Top 25? Has the state of Indiana ever had three teams ranked at the end of the season?

  2. The scene at the end of the game between Tulsa and Miss State bowl game was nothing but a pure embarrassment. The game was great to watch.. But after the game all hell breaks loose.........not just a fight, but an actual brawl. The NCAA needs to step in and suspend both programs for the 2021 season. We are so lucky to be playing throughout the pandemic.......its an honor to be playing and rep your school in a nationally televised bowl game........and to end it in such a disrespectful manner, just sad

  3. I think Ball State is deserving of a top 25 ranking. That was a bad beat down of a ranked team, so they should be recognized.

  4. Chirp freakin’ chirp, that was a beat down! Congrats to them on their 1st bowl win. They are deserving on a top 25 maybe top 20 finish

  5. Congrats to Ball State for the win today. It did look like during the post game hand shakes that someone from San Jose State was not too happy with the result and was looking for trouble. I know some don't think Bowl games really mean anything, but the Mountain West is a higher profile conference than the MAC, and to win this way is a big deal. It was also a GREAT time slot on network TV for them to play. Mike Neu has done a great job building this program. Of course when you talk about Ball State having this kind of success, hanging on to the coach comes into question. It helps that Neu is an alum, but BSU is a bare bones athletic program; so keeping him there could be difficult to do. There was a nice moment during the game where Brad Nessler talked about the Hoosier State and they showed the 3 teams that are in a bowl game; definitely a rare football moment for this State.

  6. The kid's actions show he is a punk. As I said, cut anyone involved loose.

  7. Their profile will fit nicely within the MIC by the middle of this decade, much more so than within the HCC. They aren’t competing at a high level in anything currently and will at least compete for non-revenue championships were they to join the MIC.

  8. Habits learned this year will carry forward. ADs need to negotiate a cut from streaming services if they arent already. my butt will be in a seat but many enjoyed watching on their big screen. Alternatively, there doesn’t seem to be a downside to printing money and giving it to any poorly managed ADs across the country. So... we got that going for us... which is nice.

  9. I think with the recent realignments that most everyone is happy considering all sports. The only school with some potential buyers remorse over the next few years might be Vincennes. In terms of football, the PAC folks might wish they had a little less non-conference freedom, and some SIAC guys might wish they had a little more.

  10. I remember that sam logan cat. Other then the tons of fumbles that Winamac had, i remember thinking how good he was. Stud. Good basketball player too. Watt was my grade level growing up. I saw him on the bball court and didnt much of him athletically.. Man kids sure can change! I was floored to find out his class never had a winning season in bball and never won a single game in football in middle school. Chapman, Care, Rodriguez,Sellers, Hood, Watt and Snodgrass really put the work in+ having Welsh, Wiley and Care to name a couple behind you certainly helped!

  12. Could absolutely be true. Guess I’m more of an old school “till death do us part” kinda guy. People’s words don’t expire in my world, do they in yours? The numbers/“grind” are the same on the east side of Indy as they are on the west side.

  13. Honestly, I don’t think Jeff would. I think they would want Harrison and McCutcheon to go with them. Jeff (and their Catholic cousins down Teal Road at Central Catholic) loves to fill the trophy cases. I think they are fine with being the top dog of the NCC in football, and their talent pool will be down a little after the 2021 season. If there was another conference option for Jeff that was attractive, they might consider it but not strictly for football purposes. If they could just reduce the number of required conference games they would be happy to have some additional openings to play better opponents in football.

  14. Regarding the OP Boonville is in a good place for them. My preferred conference alignment for sw indiana (football only) would have multiple divisions with promotion/relegation to maximize competitive scheduling. The SIAC and PAC combined have 22 football playing schools. Getting to 24 schools would neatly create four divisions of six. The four divisions would all play their five division games in weeks 5-9. Weeks 1-4 would allow for cross division games to fill out the schedules. Theoretically that type of arrangement would result in the best six teams in the same division and the worst six teams in the same division. I have no reasonable expectation of anything like that ever happening.

  15. My understanding was the if Boonville would have gone to the SIAC then Gibson Southern would have also. The SIAC wanted to keep it an even number of teams. When Boonville said no then Gibson Southern was not able to get in.
