  1. Since this seems to be the new trend on the board, let's see what is the most mismatched conference lineups might be. I mean...really make them bad. Bad travel, mismatched size, mismatched success...etc. Let's see how bad we can Frankenstein this up. Example: The Four Corners Central Conference Evansville Reitz East Chicago Central Angola South Dearborn Indianapolis Tech East Central Turkey Run

  2. I would say Memorial's team identity will be the same as just about any year. They will be small and undersized. But they will make up for that by being deceptively slow.

  5. Yep, the liberal MSM has made millions over the last four years picking apart every single things Mr. Trump has said or done, ad nauseum. No way will they be that critical with Mr. Biden.

  6. I agree. However, keep in mind Penn has played DAC schools in basketball on school nights for years, and Elkhart plays Valpo and Chesterton this year. The travel would be tougher in football, but you could do an East/West concept to minimize it a little bit more (going from Valpo/Michigan City to Penn/Elkhart isn’t too bad). I just feel like Penn and Elkhart are woefully out of place in the NIC, and the DAC is the closest, and in my opinion best, alternative.

  8. Reitz doesn't qualify. Reitz Memorial does...

  9. Maybe you could consider adding Tri-West, Triton, and Triton Central.

  12. Not sure "thug coach" is the appropriate term for Meyer at OSU, but he thrived under two administrations (Florida and OSU) that gave him free reign and power with little/no consequences. Hell, Gene Smith (AD) and Gordon Gee (university president) bowed down to the man and Smith was even quoted as saying "I hope Urban doesn't fire me" when asked about Meyer's future during the Zach Smith debacle. Anyone who thinks Meyer left Florida or OSU due to his stated reasoning of "health problems" and "wanting to spend more time with his family" is delusional. The guy is a liar whose practices are well documented but he escapes all criticism for one reason: HE WINS. THAT is why he is featured on BTN/Fox. People value the opinion of a coach with championship experience/a pedigree and character does not count. Simply put: He left OSU "mutually" to maintain some sort of integrity but the university simply did not back him on the Smith incident. They gave him the bare minimum punishment (whether you think he was guilty of anything or not) to make the public think they were taking a stand. The guy is a low character individual. There are many documented cases and stories of it everywhere he has been. Like Saban, when he has superior talent and the playing field is not level, he thrives. In the NFL, everyone plays by the same rules. I don't think his "schtick" would work with grown men.

  13. Our Maxpreps stats are accurate. Pence will graduate, so the big question is who will take his place. Memorial is rarely going to have a RB with a lot of carries and/or yardage totals. It just isn't our offense. Our success depends on spreading the field and the workload. Next season we'll return 5 WRs who had at least 20 catches and 2 RBs who had 80+ carries, plus the entire OL. Just gotta find that QB.... And stupid...

  15. @eschnur66 There was apparently a feasibility study done on this- By far the cheapest option is to just renovate. If Terre Haute has a declining population the most cost-effective thing they could do would be to renovate the three current high schools, and close down their feeder middle schools, similar to what EVSC did with North J/SHS. 16. I have an idea. How bout a Super Conference in the north: Snider, Homestead, Carroll, Dwenger, Penn, Elkhart, Valpo, Warsaw, and Merrillville. One non-conference game.

  17. If I'm the NLC, I'm not interested in expanding further. 8 is about a perfect number (for football) in my opinion because it allows you to play every conference opponent yet retain the flexibility to schedule 2 non-conference games. If I'm an NLC member, I like where we're at right now. When you go above 8, you lose non-conference opportunities or, if you go above 10, you end up with a messed up conference like the NIC currently is. I think the NIC should focus on trying to form a conference that makes some sense and has some common ties that binds at least some of the schools. Right now it just feels like a group of those 4 different types of schools kind of just coexisting because nobody has something better for them at this point. I'd like to see it evolve into something better but I don't think that happens until Penn and Elkhart decide to do something else.

  19. If you’re laughing at the fact that DT thinks WC’s best days are behind them and Kirschner will guide them to a championship, then I’m laughing with you.
