Former Mt. Vernon, Lebanon, and Edinburgh head coach, and long time Franklin College assistant Dave Marendt passed away Monday. He was everything a high school coach should be. Yep. Kudos to BD for having the stones to put CG back on the football schedule. Warren still playing the victim card and Carmel is just too hard headed to walk it back. Pretty sad for the kids honestly.

It is pathetic that in week 3 there are 4 out of state schools on this list of games. We should be talking about a Carmel vs Center Grove Copper Kettle game. Heck just last night Carmel and CG played volleyball game so Carmel nonsense about play CG is just BS.

This video went viral last weekend. The official is an Indianapolis official and only 5 years ago was still a high school referee. When he came to the sideline, his coach asked him what happened. He told the coach "I came up because they were running the option." This old dog went 4 for 5 last week, and might have been the only one on the Grid calling for the Mighty Trojans to fall! Connertucky edges out Hondaturd in a close one, killing Lil Ralphie's hopes for a win this season. Big Mo gets vengeance and stomps the Trojans. The question is, how do the fine people of St Leon handle a 1-2 start? Will they be calling for heads? Surely they saw this coming, right? I didn't give Flatbill enough credit last week....but not this week. Chicken and Jo Jo's win handedly. Stinktown will hand the Indians another loss this week, but there won't be many points put on the board. Where's Stinktown's offense? In the game of the week, the Bulldogs continue on their quest for a perfect season by killing any doubts with a big time win over the Taco Rats. I hear rumor that Casket Nation might give Boom a taste of his own 'hot air' at their home opener this Friday. Ohhhh, is it gonna be a show!!!!! I'll break the silence. It was a rough night. They never took their foot off the gas. Score coulda/shoulda been 21-14, but still a would have been a loss and the little things will kill you and that is football. It is a true "academy" with dorms with kids from all over, those teams are built and that is ok. No excuses, we asked for it and we got it. Learn from it and move on. My son said Saturday film and Monday morning practice were both rough....Boonville will likely get the hate from the week.

This is only opinion, Ben Davis will go as their defense goes which has been a struggle. Offensively they probably need to be a lean a little more on the run. Price had 20 carries for 113 yards averaging 5.7 per carry, they threw 2 picks against Avon. They probably should be more run heavy and use the run to set up the pass, having Zachery can definitely be a weapon but it looks to be forced a lot. They need some big improvement up front defensively, they took some major hits defensively to graduation. Not sure how St. X will finish this year. They did lose a close one (17-13) to Lakota West and then beat Centerville. Calpreps has them just outside the Top 10 in the entire State at 13 and at #5 in Division 1 behind St. Ed's, Lakota West, Moeller, and Olentangy Liberty. Their starting QB is a noteworthy name in Kirk Herbstreit's son Chase (Ironically Kirk was a star QB at Centerville during his HS days). Chase had a decent game against Centerville. Cathedral and St. X clash this Friday, a lot of games vs Ohio this Friday.

Corydon plans to play NH JV this Saturday. Nothing has been communicated otherwise yet.

To be fair. 1. There was no poll taken after the week zero game so their #10 ranking was just “leftover” from the preseason poll. They will not be ranked today. 2. Their stadium is under construction and all of those seats underneath the press box were off-limits.
