  1. Been to many IU games over my lifetime…especially as a youth. Yesterday it was different…it felt like a major college program. The atmosphere was electric. Thank you Coach Cignetti!!

  2. Let me put it this way, I was born just before IU’s last Rose Bowl appearance and IU, other than the pandemic year, has not been competitive in the Big 10 so it has been a once in a lifetime experience. Yes, the new scope of college sports has changed to better even the playing field, but still doesn’t change the fact that IU is now a player in the game. I do believe it is sustainable going forward as the money has always been there at IU, just the commitment hasn’t been there

  3. We had a old coach named Jeff Pierce...he used to say every time there was a low flying plane near our practice field...which was a lot since we are located in the middle of a corn field(crop duster and a airport fairly close). He would say Linton spy...lol...we would be like what? In that plane...there are Linton people watching our practice...lol. We would always say...no way Coach Pierce...they dont need spies to beat us...lol Now every time a plane comes over we yell...Linton Spy! Anyway...I would love to hear stories like this...fun times! I miss Coach Pierce...he made everyone laugh...he was a great guy!

  4. Cmon Irish...you need to be more understanding...more loving. One gets really tired going 10 for 32 passing the football in a game....2 for 15 in the first half. SMH....

  6. We never seemed to be able get non-conference games against PAC teams.

  7. I can foresee situations - such as upsets in conference championship games - where a 1 loss ND is on the outside looking in. This may be the year it finally dawns on them that the absence of a conference championship on their resume is a real obstacle to overcome, even with a 12 team playoff.

  8. My bad. I get heated some times. Also, that comment was likely directed at several individuals specifically, and not all private schools as a whole. Either way, I should never have phrased it that way.

  10. So we’ve heard, and history also tells us it’s not all that hard to win at IU for a year or two. It’s the Wild West out there right now, none of it is sustainable, you’ll forgive me if I take a wait and see attitude. And maybe Gignetti is this Wild West’s Pat Garrett and he’s got it figured out.

  12. Two words: COMMON SENSE. I have a follow-up question for Bobref & any other officiating experts-- WHY WASN'T THIS CALLED A SIMPLE SIDELINE WARNING??? No penalty yardage, game over. Players celebrating 20+ yards from the action had no impact on the play itself. Officials always need to use COMMON SENSE. This is not the NFL in which every little infraction is scrutinized & every ruling by each official is graded. This game was stolen away from Danville. Period.

  14. As they should be. Not to make this about a recycled topic, but no privates should exist in 1A.
