  2. If it is week 1, it cannot be an Illinois school. Their ‘week 1’ is Indiana’s week 2.

  4. I remember several years ago, the exact same question came up with Nebraska football. Is Nebraska a great program or was Osborne a great coach? But IU does have history prior to Knight. He just took it to another level. And, no disrespect to Davis, but the 01 team was Knight's team. Davis was smart enough to 'let it ride'.

  5. IHSAA's hands are not tied at all... This bill makes no reference to a "1 time transfer", nor does it address any issues regarding eligibility. It most certainly is a shot across the bow at the IHSAA, but it doesn't force the IHSAA to do anything. All it does is force schools to accept transfers into their district who are transferring for athletic reasons. Whether they have full, limited or no eligibility from IHSAA. Additionally, there is no guarantee that this bill is going to become law. It still has to be voted on by the full House go through a Senate committee process be voted on by a the full Senate survive a conference committee process (if needed) be signed by the governor A lot can happen in those steps.

  6. Chiefs will need to be VERY creative, positive with Mahomes he can easily under the rules of NFL restructure his deal to alleviate 66 million in cap money, most elite QBs do this because they understand their teams need money to bring in talent.

  7. Picture this: Nick Hart takes over for John Hart at Brownsburg when he retires. Derek Hart takes over for Nick Hart at GS. The winning continues.

  8. I guess....Nelson has made 7 pro bowls in all 7 years of his career....5 of the 7 years, he's been an all-pro. Most teams would take that type of performance in a heartbeat. I get he may not be the same as he was the first 2-3 years in the league, but pretty darn good. 2nd team All Pro in 2024. He lines up against other really good players as well, as he's the kind of guy that would play with injury and not say much about it. Pretty darn thrilled he's a Colt. I know Andrew Luck would have appreciated him earlier in his career.

  9. Getting kids to anything there is a struggle, and they could take or leave football; they don't care. Unless there is a strong parent-driven class that comes through from time to time, that does all the youth stuff, etc., the only classes that seem to get traction are the ones that do. Some publics can maintain great parent-driven classes year after year...some can't. I think it's at least mildly comical how people think because you have "athletes in the building" that somehow that right coach is going to turn that one factor into success. I mean, I guess you can be Reitz and get some of those kids out and run go routes all night. How is that working out? The path to success is having kids involved in football from 1st grade on...."Joey program kid" wins more games that 4.4 kid "in the building"

  11. I always remember the remark by Duane Thomas of the Dallas Cowboys, many years ago. "If this is the "ultimate game" why are they playing it again next year." Not a direct quote, but close enough. The SB has become another overblown event, imho.

  12. I believe Dick Dullaghan would slot in at about .843 or so if memory serves.

  13. The better team won and if I had a vote for MVP it would go to the Eagles defense. They were outstanding all night. The one stat that the entire TV crew didn't mention, or mention much, was the Chiefs had only one first down the entire first half! But, of course, the MVP normally goes to the winning QB, and Jalen Hurts was equally outstanding. It was no fluke, as the Eagles scored 95 points in their last two games, and you're not going to lose much scoring 47.5 ppg. Halftime was mediocre, and the commercials were not the quality of days past.
