  1. I didn't post on this part of GID for almost six months and it had nothing to do with Mueller. I still am not likely to post much here given that it's looking like little has changed in approach. My current posts aren't really tied to Mueller either. If you somehow feel that my posts on a football website are tied to Mueller and that my absence was somehow tied to Mueller, then you really aren't tracking me well and overlooking a lot ... likely so since you didn't notice that it was half year and not just a month. You have a firm belief that Russia didn't interfere in the 2016 election. You continually post about 17 agencies while overlooking the fact that the number of agencies doesn't matter ... Trump's own folks said it happened although they now want you to believe that they didn't in a very Withers/Ogilvy approach. It's a "baby with the bath water approach ... if you don't believe that Russia interfered, then you don't have to even have to consider anything that Mueller looked into. It's just like this Assange thing ... you are spending so much time trying to pretend that Assange and his lawyers didn't say what they said and spending time going after The Daily Beast, despite the fact that the statements were made in court and not to The Daily Beast among others, as opposed to the realization in seeing the Assange is playing a game ... and may well have been all along. Also, what's missing in the presentation is that YOU claim everything is fake and then put up a source that you claim is 100% accurate which isn't. As for "the establishment" in case you haven't noticed, said "establishment" has just shifted in whose running it. If you really believe that Trump is "anti-establishment" then you're missing the long-con. Trump is in it for Trump ... he's just as much a part of "the establishment" as anyone else he rails against. Claiming Trump is anti-establishment is like claiming BYU under Detmer's passing time isn't football because, unlike Oklahoma under Switzer run-only regime, BYU threw the ball all the time instead of running it all the time. Two sides of the same coin. Just like claiming that the Cowboys are America's Team and that the Raiders played "assassin ball" back in the days of Lester Hayes. Again, two teams doing the same thing, just taking different routes to get there ... each with their own skeletons and dirty tricks playing out.

  2. Listen there are schools who do a good job (maybe) and a horrible job of recruiting in this state! Most are D1! I was amazed at how much better the NAIA schools do in this state. My son just went through the process and said i would rather play and get noticed then be on the sideline and not. So he decided on an NAIA school due to how much more thorough they where. Anymore if you have the talent the pro teams will find you. Let these kids live their lives. If they go to IU because they think that maybe their path let them dream. You never know!

  3. Or, maybe because GWB was such a dud, maybe former governors aren’t palatable?

  4. Great message. I too hope he can turn the program around. A big step would be getting the community to show that football matters and invest in a turf field at Hatchet Hollow.

  5. I can agree with that. Especially given that we are talking about high school kids. Gives a chance to do both ... all-in while having some weight on the regular season progress. In essence, it just makes a 10-week "regular season" and the "real" post season starts in second game of sectionals while also getting rid of some of those #1/#2 meetings that sometimes may pop up in the first-round of sectionals.

  6. No doubt, I have been meaning to go for years but a lot of times we would be at coach clinic and out of town during this weekend, but not this year!! No better time then now to support my guy Eli who one of the hardest working kids in 3 sports over 4 years that I have ever seen come thru our school. I am also excited to watch 195 pounder Kyler Funk wrestle this weekend as well.

  9. Instead of questioning where kids come from in successful programs, maybe realize that Western Boone has a great strength and conditioning program. If you watch their athletes in action in any sport, you can tell they have spent plenty of time working in the weight room.

  10. All I hear on this profile today is how our kids are getting softer and don't work as hard as they used to. Now a few of you are criticizing a kid who wants to take a chance to live out a dream? How many times have your heard guys sitting around talking football and somebody always says, I wish I would have tried to play at Big School U? What is wrong with taking a chance on yourself and trying to pursue a dream? As a coach and Father , it is part of my job to get my players and kids to go outside of their comfort zone. The only way we improve in any endeavor is to leave our comfort zones. Some of these kids have been big fish in small ponds their whole lives and have no idea of what they are capable of. I applaud the kids who take a chance. Live life with your hair on fire, take some chances. If you get there and it doesn't work out, I am sure the small college guys will take a second look at you. There is something to be said for these kids that go with no guarantees of anything, but a roster spot and are willing to work there butts off. I'd hire that guy any day. My son is actually one of those guys who turned down a very good offer to be a walk on at IU. That has been his dream forever. Chase it with all your heart Young man!!! He understands all the negatives and we discussed it thoroughly . He chose to take a chance. I am impressed and proud that he chose to take a chance and test his metal. At the end of the day, regardless of whether he plays 1 play or a thousand plays, it is the process and the willingness to put in the work that will benefit him in the real world. We all have our opinions on how good a kid is and where they can play, but the world is full of guys people were wrong about. I for one think we all could learn to take a few more chances , to say what the hell, to believe in ourselves and just go for it! BTW: Tom and his staff as I am sure Purdue does too, evaluate film and only bring in guys they think might have a chance.

  11. Many of the D3 schools use athletics as a way to recruit students. When my son was a senior we were talking to Hanover and the admissions person said 45% of their incoming class each year are on one of the athletics teams. The D3 schools will try to get 75 freshmen every year knowing half of them will not return their sophomore year but hopefully a large percentage like the school enough to stay at the school. It's a good recruiting tool for those schools.

  13. What about a kid who opts for a smaller school over a D1? My daughter had multiple D1 offers and opted for Marian. In her words "dad I don't want this to be a job, I want to experience college as well." Smaller schools offer varying degrees of that. When she went on her visit, she said "it just felt like home." I told her all along forget sports, find a school you would just like to go to school at. We all knew there was no million dollar contract at the end of this rainbow, Softball was a means to an end. As I've stated many times, Marian University is the best college athletic program in the country you've never heard of.

  14. https://www.nationalreview.com/2020/02/2020-presidential-campaign-where-are-the-governors/ Why govern, and all that entails, when the POTUS has so much power he can basically legislate with the stroke of a pen?
