  1. My criteria are somewhat different than most. They include locker rooms, playing surface, atmosphere, and the other things that are important to someone who doesn’t spend time sitting in the stands. Limited to NW Indiana, and in no particular order, my favorites are: Lowell - It’s a bit a of a hike from the locker room to the field, but the Inferno is awesome. Always an enthusiastic crowd, and the hospitality is first rate. It’s not like the old days when KK was there, but it’s still pretty good. Valparaiso - A top notch program with a fine facility. Very classy. Great crowd support and great hospitality. Hobart - The most knowledgeable fans in the Region. Best playing surface in the Region. Their great tradition makes every game there an event. And their facility is such a vast improvement over the miserable Brickie Bowl ... Crown Point - Nicest overall facility. Great hospitality. Every game is Pop Warner night, or midget cheerleader night, or something like that. Always a festive atmosphere. Tied with Hobart for the best PA system, and whoever picks out their music has great taste: AC/DC, Guns ‘N Roses, Led Zeppelin, Queen. Rensselaer - Had to give props to @Coach Nowlin’s crew. Nobody treats you better than the Bombers. Great small-town high school football feel, like the whole town turns out. Pound for pound, the most supportive study body around.

  2. Fixed it....Try this, because it may not be obvious how to edit....scroll your mouse over the title; see if you get a thin popup of the title, and at the end of it, what I saw was "click and hold to edit".

  3. The confusion is... the article is about North East Indiana. But who ever started this thread put Northwest indiana.

  4. With all of these good teams, it would be a crime (almost) for ESPN for not to air a Webb City (MO)-Robert Service (AK) game instead of the usual IMG Academy (FL)-Hampton (VA) tilt. Small school football is just as exciting...

  5. https://www.forbes.com/sites/raulelizalde/2019/09/26/why-gdp-growth-is-slowing-and-why-neither-trump-nor-the-fed-can-fix-it/ The economy was slowing down before this. Trump's terrible decision making and lack of preparedness of Covid killed the economy quite quicker. First. My OG post was something similar you all posted about Obama non stop during his presidency.. Or did you just forget? 2nd I complained about re opening things.. Because it has nothing to do with our jobs and our health. It only had to do with his re election chances.. Notice the 4 state's that quickly opened (Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and Texas).. 3 of them are slowly trending blue (more young people moving in and more multi cultural..Tx and GA will be blue in 2024, SC 2028 ) and Florida a state he barely won in 2016. Third As i stated earlier. Trump's terrible decision making, his lack of preparedness on covid-19 hurt and killed the economy. If he was a better decision maker and took the covid-19 more serious. We wouldnt be in this situation. Lastly Trump has had 20+ come out and accuse him of sexual misconduct, hes cheated on every single one of his wives, he can't speak in full sentences, he doesn't under stand the constitution or basic policy. Biden is only 3 years and some change older then Trump. So if Biden is an old "fart"..then what's Trump? So if you have a problem with Biden's age, Bidens misconduct and his brain activity, you must have problems with Trump's age, Misconduct and Brain Activity too? If not...You are being hypocrite once again.

  6. It is very true. Ive seen 4 GOP presidents and the two I can remember (Bush 43 and trump) have absolutely killed the economy. Uh. He was warned about this in January. Why didn't they start getting plans into place? To be on the safe side?

  7. Arrowhead lol. 100% Kimberly Must have got a big knock because they couldnt repeat as 6 or 7 time champions for 208/2019 while posting 12 wins season. 5 straight wasn’t good enough 😉

  8. The statement is truthful. I’ve seen a Great Recession and a Pandemic in my lifetime, all under and both due to GOP Presidents.

  9. I wonder why my mind remembers a sausage at Eastbrook...was that somewhere else? It must have been a ribeye. The games were blowouts, so I don't remember much....:( I found this nugget: They changed from Ribeye to a Strip Steak for the sandwich this year. Excellent fare for a high school football game.

  11. In Louisiana there is a Snoopy helmet that is really cool. This matchup against a very LSU-inspired helmet was my favorite in their state. https://twitter.com/LouisianaPreps/status/1258533310097010688?s=20

  12. https://mises.org/wire/governments-are-real-price-gougers Talk about the pot calling the kettle black! Let’s consider the circumstances of Pusateri's price gouging, but let’s also consider the circumstances related to the price charged by the government for its so-called universal healthcare system. This seems appropriate in light of Ford’s concern about providing adequate healthcare resources during the COVID-19 pandemic, which led to Pusateri’s price gouging. Pusateri's charged $30 for Lysol disinfecting wipes, which is roughly ten times the prepanic price. In contrast, as I have written before, the cost of socialized healthcare in Canada in 2018—approximately $4,389 per capita—was twenty-three times the cost of private healthcare in the early twentieth century, measured by how long a person must work to pay for healthcare. And that’s a conservative estimate. At this point, someone might say “Ah, but the high price of health care is not caused by the government's monopoly. Rather, it reflects the rising cost of modern medical technology.” This argument is unconvincing. There are many complex products—e.g., computers—for which competition and technological innovation produce lower prices. The government's price gouging is more than twice as bad as Pusateri's price gouging. Unfortunately, government price gouging—through taxation—is hidden from view because healthcare is free to consumers at the point of service, whereas consumers must pay Pusateri's directly for their disinfecting wipes. Because the phrase “price gouging” has ominous implications, it should only be used to describe a situation where people are forced to pay a specified price, such as when the government forcibly taxes people for healthcare. This is not the case with Pusateri's, which cannot legally force people to buy disinfecting wipes. If no one buys disinfecting wipes from Pusateri's, they will eventually lower their price. On the other hand, if people voluntarily purchase the wipes, Pusateri's higher profits will prompt other retailers and manufacturers to increase the supply of wipes to meet the increased demand, which also leads to lower prices. This is the effect of competition in an unhampered market. It is equally important to remember that if you pay Pusateri's $30 you know for certain that you are getting what you pay for—the disinfecting wipes. Not so with the government's socialized healthcare, as revealed by the Fraser Institute's 2014 study: Justices of the Supreme Court of Canada have noted that patients in Canada die as a result of waiting lists for universally accessible health care. Our analysis estimates that between 25,456 and 63,090 (with a middle value of 44,273) Canadian women may have died as a result of increased wait times between 1993 and 2009. As we can see, Canadians have universal access to waiting lists, but not to actual healthcare. Thus, socialized healthcare is best described as a government scheme which forces you to purchase a product which you may not want or need at a price which the government dictates, raises, and confiscates annually. Then, the government often refuses to deliver the product, without refunding your purchase price, while forbidding you from purchasing a replacement product from competitors elsewhere within its jurisdiction. Therefore, Ford’s holier-than-thou complaint should not be directed toward Pusateri's,1 but toward the government itself: "It is absolutely disgusting that the government forbids competition and lines the pockets of highly paid bureaucrats by forcibly price gouging the public on healthcare that is often denied to them when they desperately need it." Anyone with a rudimentary understanding of economics can see that Ford's diatribe reveals a political double standard. Understanding the economics of so-called price gouging in the private sector requires us to turn a deaf ear to politicians. Instead of complaining about price gouging and empty store shelves, we should learn how market participants filled those shelves in the first place—before the onset of panic buying. This will enable us to consider so-called price gouging—and the government’s response to it—with the proper context. I promise you that young teenagers can easily understand these basic economic principles, which is probably why the subject matter is not properly taught in government schools. After all, we can't have all those graduates questioning government policies. It is therefore ironic that the government's school closures present a golden opportunity for parents to educate their own children, including in basic economic principles, which is not a difficult task, even for the younger ones. Yep, virtually anything government gets it's finger into becomes higher in price and lower in quality.
