  1. With the emergence of suburban schools in the bigger markets, schools like Ben Davis, Warren Central, and Snider have been dismissed in recent conversations with regard to who the better teams in the state are. All those programs are relevant and will go a long way in deciding this years state champion.
  2. Snider 42, Concordia 0 (all scoring took place in the first half) Homestead 24, Luers 16 Carroll 28, North Side 20 Dwenger 42, South Side 13
  3. Amen to that.............5a would love to have them. The more competition the merrier.
  4. May just have to do that. I like the old days of listening to a game on the radio.
  5. Hurts even more when you know you're the better team and still lose.
  6. I disagree. Goldrush has been a long time advocate on this forum for the Penn program. Sometimes fans have spouts. Most of us have been there.
  7. Just busting your balls. I agree that the best teams were affected by lack of attendance. I think it was felt at the high school level as well. Bad teams are used to playing in front of no one. Good teams feed off the noise and excitement of their fans.
  8. My two cents: Both Temp and Goldrush have brought good value to this forum for many years. Keep it up, keep it cool.
  9. Lol, just three years? Sorry, my mind is focused on work right now. It seems longer than that. I get the good record. And I do think he's a good coach. Maybe I'm being slightly unfair to him. But when I think of Day, I think of the best talent in the country losing at home to Oregon and getting blasted in the playoffs by Clemson and Alabama.
  10. The Snider fan base feels the same about Penn. I was truly hoping to see that rivalry renewed when the SAC restructured and allowed for two non-conference games. Not a singe Fort Wayne team picked up Penn, which tells me that the first two weeks of their schedule is booked up for the foreseeable future. In my opinion, from a fans perspective, Snider vs Penn needs to happen again. Side note: Snider/Penn was arguably one of the best non-conference rivalries in the state for two decades.
  11. I guess I'm still up in the air as to how good of a coach Ryan Day is. He has top three talent year after year and he's yet to have a national championship to show for it. Oregon coming into Columbus last year and winning was an eye opener for me. I'll buy into the hype and acknowledge a multiple score game mainly because I think the Buckeyes will be as jacked up for this game as they have for any game in recent memory. There's just been that type of buildup leading into Saturday night. And after what happened last year in the home opener, they'll be ready to go.
  12. I can understand the point spread: Ohio State blew their home opener a year ago. They don't want to make it two in a row. The Buckeyes will play lights out not wanting Freeman's return to be with a W. The game is at Ohio State. Freeman is unproven as a head coach.
  13. Speed came in handy back then when opportunities to play on turf were far and few between. The Snider 2004 team was right there with WC in the midst of their dynasty. It's just a shame that Quale Lewis wasn't able to showcase himself that game.
  14. Wait. Wasn't it you that cited covid for Michigan's down season two years ago?
  15. There's the infamous Rodney. Your affiliation switched from Dwenger to Cathedral?
  16. I too thought the passing attack would be a bigger part of the equation this year. But I also wasn't expecting the running game to be so good with three capable backs. Give this offense some time. By playoff time it'll be a well oiled machine. I think he's looked pretty sharp so far. Although most are for short yardage gains, he's hitting his receivers when called upon to do. He's gone up against two very talented defenses and has just one interception I believe? Maybe this Friday against Concordia they'll open it up a bit more and fine tune their deep game.
  17. Agree. Maybe a little less comical then Dwenger ranking higher than North Side after just losing to them. To be fair, this is a "coaches poll." All these guys really know are their own teams and the ones they've played. I doubt they have too much time for research.
  18. Penn back to being Penn is a big IF. Based on recent performances (Indy vs the field last 4 years), I've got Cathedral by 2-3 touchdowns.
  19. So you're on the record for saying that Luers might only drop one more game this year in the SAC?
  20. If Penn is back to being Penn, then this game goes to the wire.
