Yep, clown.

For the record, Harbaugh is a weird dude, so he might fit into the "clown" category also.

75-80% on book it.  Some people make it easy.

(Dude gave me 21 points if I remember correctly and Michigan won OUTRIGHT by 22, lol.)

That should count double.

Thank You,

Knew when I listened to him at IFCA clinic that he was the PERFECT fit for IU and sad he wasn't at PU.

Do you still think he is a "CLOWN" @temptation

Perhaps NIL commitment like UNLV QB not coming to fruition?  Just speculation.

He went from being the dude under Tom Allen to being another guy.

Cooper Jr and Sarratt have outplayed him on the outside and he's not a slot like Price or Cross.  The injury he suffered couple games ago, emergence of Cooper Jr and Sarratt transferring over to IU hindered him.

Thank You,

Being a clown with minimal accomplishments is a slippery slope though.

Remember the previous guys’ gimmicks?

You know, the “national coach of the year” in 2020.

Give me specifics examples of this "clown" reference from Coach Cig in your opinion?   the ONLY thing I can think of is when he stated in front of a packed house at Assembly where he was just announced to where he got all riled up and said Purdue Sucks, and so does Michigan and So does Ohio State.    to me that was refreshing, setting the tone that IU will no longer be everyone's punching bag.  I can appreciate that.

Quote

Cignetti finished 53–17 at IUP with three NCAA playoff appearances and two conference championships. On December 31, 2016, he accepted the head coaching position at Elon University.

Elon

The Elon team had a 4–20 conference record and suffered through six straight losing seasons prior to Cignetti's arrival, but in his first season the squad won eight games in a row after an opening season loss to MAC champion Toledo. The Phoenix were ranked as high as 6th nationally, played James Madison for the conference championship and were selected for the NCAA Playoffs for the first time since 2009. Cignetti was named CAA coach of the year and was a finalist for the Eddie Robinson National Coach of the Year. In 2018, Cignetti led the Phoenix to a 27–24 win over James Madison, ending JMU's 22-game CAA Football winning streak and then FCS-best 19-game home winning streak. The win marked Elon's first over a top-five FCS opponent.[4] The Phoenix earned back to back NCAA playoff appearances for the first time in program history.

James Madison

Cignetti was named Head Football Coach at James Madison on December 14, 2018. In his first season, Cignetti led the Dukes to a seven-game improvement over the prior season, finishing 14–2 and advancing the team through the playoffs to an appearance in the National Championship game. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 college football season was delayed with make-up dates scheduled in the early 2021 calendar year. JMU completed the revised 2020 football season with a 7–1 record and advanced to the Semifinals of the playoffs. JMU went 12–2 in the 2021 football season and announced a move from the Colonial Athletic Association to the Sun Belt Conference starting the following season.

What is the theme??   Taking poor programs and making them into winners.

IU was a poor program under Tom Allen, as mentioned not replacing great assistants was a downfall, the smoke and mirrors of whatever that covid year was.....

These are the FACTS for Coach Cig..(love his nickname).

IU is relevant for the first time ever, 2020 gets an asterisk for every team due to the Pandemic, so not sure what the argument is here. I started this whole mess by saying a 5-0 IU doesn’t happen often, if ever, and also said 11-1 was a possibility and that IU would be favored in every game except Ohio State. There is no arguing that.

What Cignetti has done is remarkable, period. If IU avoids in juries, especially at QB, they have a good chance to do something special in Bloomington this year. It is nice to enjoy watching IU this year for once…

The way he conducts himself.  Arrogant because he has won at two low levels of football?  Not saying he needed to come in and bow down but gimme a break.

You’d think IU fans would learn after 2020 but I guess not.

5-0 is a great accomplishment at IU but they have still beaten no one of substance.  That is a fact.

Lets let it play out like we did in 2020.

Winners win......

Your "boy" was just as Arrogant at San Diego that he was when he was in Ann Arbor.......why does he get a pass?   Oh, that's right, different set of standards for you and Michigan vs EVERYONE else, at least that would be the honest response.

So you still haven't said anything specifically,  so I will patiently wait Temp on what exactly he has done, or let rephrase it, How has he conducted himself SPECIFICALLY?     Mr. Broad stroke brusher is too easy to say things without specific examples.

I'd use a lot of words to describe Harbaugh, but arrogant really isn't one of them.  I am all ears if YOU want to point to specific examples though.

1.  You nailed it on his sophomoric halftime nonsense at the basketball game upon being hired.

2. Big Ten Media Day where he arrogantly cited his win/loss record and admitted he was doing so for "entertainment."

3. "Google me."

Those good enough?

(And yes, Michigan has earned the right to be arrogant).

Up until last season, Michigan had won exactly one national title in the previous 75 years and is routinely one of the most arrogant fan bases in the country. What on Earth has given them the right to be arrogant all these years?

You've been running your mouth since Michigan beat Ohio State for the first time in a decade.

Thank You for specifically answering the question

And I will double down and say again, I think it's refreshing approach to things......Coach Speak is overplayed and I get that you as a coach have to stay above water on it, but again, IU football history speaks for itself, so its refreshing seeing a guy who knows how to win, is a relative unknown to the B10, and midwest as a whole and say, "GOOGLE ME"

next question. do you support Coach Harbaugh and his "tag line". .... WHO HAS IT BETTER THAN US" ??  @temptation

Michigan fans been arrogant ever since I've been alive, and that's going on 35 years. Just as arrogant today as they were when Rich Rod was going 3-9.

Yes, I do.  That’s internal locker room motivation, not some sound byte when you are behind a microphone or being interviewed.

Coaches say different things behind closed doors/in the locker room, but you know that.

Don’t be so dense.

not dense.....

and you know that

145-31 or whatever it is ......has earned the right to say what he wants and continues to have his players fighting with him, there is something to be said for that.

Does he have to be your cup of tea, NOPE, but to not give him his roses thus far is just you being obtuse for the purpose of being "that guy".  and that's cool too, just gonna show you the fallacy in that

Eh, every fanbase has a pod of fans that take on a particular characteristic.  Now YOU are the one painting with a broad brush.  If anything, the Rich Rod era humbled me and made me enjoy the Harbaugh years (you know, when everyone wanted him fired despite winning 10 games) even more.

There are three sets of fans on this forum (Purdue, IU, Notre Dame) and even Rich Rod had little trouble with those three in Michigan's worst years.

You HATE Michigan so much that you just can't let this go.  It's pretty sad.  You've been wrong ever since 2021 and disappeared which gave me hope you had sought help for your derangement syndrome, but here we are.

I have wasted enough words on you already.  You'll continue to slang insults, but until the 12 team playoff is complete in mid-January, Michigan is still the champs.  This eats you alive...and is adorable.

I don't HATE Michigan. I view Michigan the same way I view Ohio State, Notre Dame, etc. I'll never root for any of them. Same way I view Kentucky, Purdue, etc in basketball as an IU fan. I can appreciate good teams and good programs when I see them however. Michigan had a fantastic season last year yet will always be overshadowed by an elaborate sign stealing scandal on top of several other level 1 infractions that ended with a ruling banning Jim Harbaugh from college football for a length of 4 years. It's hard to like somebody as arrogant as Jim Harbaugh. Ditto for somebody like Urban Meyer. Both great coaches who can't take accountability for their actions and the actions of their football program.

So lemme get this straight…

Michigan’s schedule was a joke in 2023…

Michigan suspended its “sign stealer” after 7 games (0 of which were against ranked teams).

Michigan goes 8-0 with five wins against top 15 teams (4 top 10) AFTER the suspension…

Why is it overshadowed?

Because there's a very real chance that Michigan is going to have to vacate several wins from the last few seasons including the national title.....what do you mean how is it overshadowed lol? Just like people will always remember Louisville vacating their 2013 national title due to a prostitution scandal.

Just so we are clear, what is the criteria/winning percentage in which is becomes acceptable to talk out of your ass and at what level must that success be attained?

Can middle school football coaches cite their win loss record and flex whenever they wish?

Indiana chose production (Cignetti) over potential (the other two finalists). Cignetti has won every single place he's been and won a lot at schools that don't traditionally win.

To be 60 something years old and take this job, you have to have swagger and confidence.

Good coaches win, no matter where they go.

Harbaugh has done that, DeBoer has done that and I think Cig will do that as well.
