It did not come easy. Defense needs to do better in coverage. Defensive penalties leading to scoring drives has got to be fixed.
The KO team has got to be better.

Love that the team just keeps battling. I was worried in the 4th quarter when they had to settle for a late field goal after an obvious DPI in the end zone went unnoticed.

Even Bobref would agree that was DPI!  Blatant non call!

Hey, I’m out on this topic since you can’t stay on topic.  Done taking your bait.

Cignetti is a “successful clown.”  That’s all you’ll get from me.  Both can be true.

Good luck to the Hoosiers tomorrow.

Never thought I’d be in a position to root against em but here we are.

Rooted against IU…

Own team lost.

C'mon Temp. Root against an entire program who's never tasted success because a few fans are excited about finally having a great coach and turning the program around? Give IU fans their glory, it'll be short lived anyway. Power five programs all over the country are licking their chops at the opportunity to offer Cignetti a MASSIVE contract. I know I would if I were an AD.

All IU fans can hope for is that Cignetti's wife loves Bloomington so much she puts her foot down to anymore moves. It is a beautiful place. Bob Knight came back for a reason.

I could be wrong, but not sure it’s all about $$ for him. I think he could live very well in BTown.

IU has a very wealthy athletic department. I believe they chosen in the past not to invest in football. I believe they realize that it’s pretty dang important to do so in this new P4 world.

At 63, guessing it’s not just about another job…but, we shall see.

It's always about the money my friends.... no matter what sound bites are out there.

But agree IU could pony up whatever it would take.

Yeah, this is interesting to me. The guy is 63 and will be getting paid very well with no expectations to win a Title. He could ride out life comfortably into retirement and create a name for himself in the Big Ten or throw himself into the lions den elsewhere.

Perhaps…but motivations at 63 aren’t the same as 43…even 53.  My guess IU will pay him well. At his age, it may be more about championship potential that would pull him away…

As long as Cignetti sticks around, the Hoosiers are here to stay. No Covid fluke season, this team is legit good. No smoke and mirrors, offense with QB1 is easily top 10 in the country, probably higher. Defense is good, special teams are ok. Cignetti put this team together with transfers, let’s see what he does with a full offseason of recruiting.

Well see about the offense. Don't get me wrong they are good.

I just think it's a heck of a job for Coach Cig to get a lot of those transfers to come in and buy in.

Ellison, Black, Lawton and Green sharing carries.

Cross, Price and Sarratt being dudes at previous school coming understanding targets may not come like they did at previous school and players like Cooper Jr and  Williams doing well.

What's nice is Green and black in the backfield..Sarratt and Cooper Jr could be back next season.

Getting the transfers to buy in is HUGE in this instance. Even though a lot of those guys were his at JMU, you still have to get the whole program on board. A great comparison can be made to Norvell at FSU. The main criticism for him there? Too dependent on the transfers. Saban said it best Saturday. Too many of those kids are transactional…..looking for a deal, padding the stats, exposure on a bigger stage, etc., and not transformational, buying into the program and making it better.

JMU guys

Horton (TE), Kamara (DE), Lawton (RB), Black (RB), Carpenter (DT), Sarratt (WR), Walker (LB), Fisher (LB) and Ponds (DB)

Other

Price (WR-Texas Tech), Cross and Rourke (WR/QB Ohio), Ellison and Williams (RB/WR Wake Forest), Green (RB UNC), Wedig (Wisconsin), Asbury (ODU)

Indiana guys

Most of IU's starting offensive line, Cooper Jr and Coby at WR, Burris Jr and Carr Jr along with Farrell, Johnson and Sanguinetti who are all on D were on the IU team last year.

It's a good mix. I hope you'll see a bit of the same next year, some transfer ins and some of the same guys from this year's team+ new recruits.

I would contend there are two in State programs that do......one on the transactional side and one on the transformational side. Hoping some of the football success puts some pressure on the bball program to step up. Who woulda thunk that phrase would EVER be a thing.😆
