What a game...tough for the press and score keepers to keep it all straight!

Two proud programs fought hard to the end.

Hats off to both teams, and congrats to the Titans.  As a fan, you couldn’t ask for a better game to watch.  Ultimately, the Patriots couldn’t get a stop when they had to have one.  Both teams got better tonight!

Is Gibson Southern improved from last year, is Heritage Hills down from last year, or are the teams very similar to last year and this just could have gone either way?

Two completely different teams ..two different seasons.  Both teams are the real deal this season.

I’ve been away for a while.

41 pass attempts for HH?

47 rush attempts for GS?

did someone find a glitch in the simulation?

Both teams attacking what they saw as the best chance for success.

Jett had an ankle/leg injury on the first defensive possession of the game. Didn’t have a single rushing attempt the entire 4th quarter because he was completely compromised. Most likely the reason for the weird stats profile of this game. Very proud he stuck it out tho there was no taking that kid out of that game.

I think Gibson Southern shut up all of the "Heritage Hills is winning 4A" talk. Can't see anyone beating Bishop Chatard.

We are going to struggle to get out of sectional if we can't figure out how to get 20 guys to play 4 quarters.  We got a big taste of that Friday with a roster that is double ours.  I said earlier in this thread that these guys needed adversity to get their heads out of the clouds.  I told my son Thursday to expect major adversity. That is what they got--punched right in the mouth.

Not so fast sweetheart.  Lets not get too excited.  It was a hell of a game.  A HELL of a game!  And a disappointing ending for the boys in blue, but nobody went and turned their pads in afterwards.  Still plenty of football to be played and as far as the post season goes, this loss might just be the best thing that could have happened for Heritage Hills.

This.

All that crap talk about winning 4a should have never started.  That is the drivel  that Nick Saban refers to as the "poison".  Kids hear that and then they think--"who could possibly beat us?"  Gibson Southern--that is who.  Now learn from it and give it a shot to win the 1st game of sectional.  We need to figure out what we have to do to win that game.  I promise that if we pull Jasper the coach's first phone call is to his brother Nick Hart.

HH will probably look back at this game and realize losing it was the best thing for them.   Big heads for teenage boys need challenged sometimes.   Not hating at all.  I’m mind blown that someone above said GS roster is twice the size of HH roster.  Is this true?!

Or....Gibson is REALLY freakin talented as well. You know, that could be a thing as well. But I know it is hard for people north of Bloomington to even remotely consider Southern Indiana could have more than one good football team (insert eyeroll)

Not quite but it is close.  We have 35 on the varsity roster.  I believe GS has close to 60.  You could see it Friday night in the imbalance on the sidelines.  Regardless, once sectionals get here, our 20 guys (effective roster) need to be able to go the distance.

I said the same as you Friday after the game--losing that game may be the best thing that happens.

This is truth.  Gibson Southern is an excellent team--obviously VERY well coached.  This may be another year with whoever wins Sectional 32 wins state.
