Whaddya askin these SIAC heathens for? They wouldn't know a good pie if it hit em smack in the gobber. 😄 I keed. For pizza I'd personally hit up Harper's on Main Street. If you're looking for something else, I'm partial to the Carriage Inn a couple minutes south in Haubstadt. The tenderloin sandwich as big as your head will cure what ails ya. Welcome to God's country!2 points

Yeah we played them in the championship and they are really well coached. I know they lost a QB to graduation who was a stud but the QB taking snaps looks very promising2 points

Just played Gibson Southern in 7v7 really talented on offense I look forward to keeping up with you guys throughout the season. Good Luck this year.2 points

I know schools that never block anyone. I know schools that block occasionally. But I also know of schools that drag out the process and block as late as possible vindictively.1 point

A former IHSAA Exec Committee member is an assistant superintendent in our district. her claim is that it may happen, but has been in discussion for years. She also claimed it would only be allowed after a student's freshman year. And I agree, the system has long been broken.1 point

Haha! I didn't even see "Onion" in the link and just saw "florida-state-joins" before opening the link. I thought this was a groundbreaking announcement that I somehow missed yesterday. Too funny!1 point

People on here don't like it when someone does that. I swear to god they don't. So in my case, the answer is no, I'm not going to teach him.1 point

Dunno, they may need to widen the doors at LOS to get us GS fans' heads through after last year. Might need to play it in the front lot if we're fortunate enough to get that far. Do they have a back entrance with big overhead doors? 😉 Honestly I think it is back to business at the Jewel. Everyone seems to be focused on what is in front of him, trying to win that roster spot and/or do the best they can for whatever role they can fill for the team. Most of this group were back in the gym December 1st knowing they had big cleats to fill and only a few months to prepare. I think we'll have a very competitive team. We'll run a tough gauntlet of games up front that I hope we can come through not only healthy, but with a good mindset no matter if it is a 3-1 start or a 1-3 start. New leadership will be an important factor in determining the trajectory of that mindset if things start a little rough around the edges with all the new parts being plugged in. I believe this team has it in them to make a good run. How far? We'll see this fall1 point

Thank you, he’s definitely a load just gotta get him healthy. I can’t say one but man the WRs were just so on time with the route running and knowing where to be as a whole.1 point

Linton might have lost more than Triton Central but in my opinion they were a far superior team to begin with. The regional championship game MD played against TC was never in doubt and had a running clock the very beginning of the second half. The MD game with Linton was a slugfest and a nail biter to the end. I would give the edge to Linton right now but I guess that's why we play the games. We will see it all on the field soon.1 point

According to there coach at there booster event yesterday. He said they have 1 returning starter for both sides of the ball, and he is a 2 way player. But they have a lot that got into games last year. Just didn’t start or play the crucial downs in games1 point

I’m actually supportive of New Albany, even though they rival Floyd Central, because I’m a lifetime Floyd County resident. But they spent many years, as BoilerFan87 alluded to, building that team. I’ve heard that it started in the youth leagues. That was probably the most stacked New Albany team that I’ve ever personally seen. I don’t think they have anything like that coming up the next few years. Quite honestly, I think this entire area of the State is going to be down for a while.1 point

Way back when this is how it was going to be. The EIAC did want to add two teams. They wanted a northern team (Connersville I think and a Southern Team Madison) At the time the AD was not going to budge. Even though MCS winning percentage was like less than 20 percent for boys and 25 percent for girls in regards to HHC opponents. The powers that be thought that it built character to get your head beat in and your a** handed to you night end and night out. Furthermore it built you up and got you ready for the sectional. As you can see the Cubs are regular contenders for the Regional and Semistate. (sarcasm) Progress has been made. Madison finally made the decision to exit the HHC (Smallest School Enrollment Wise) Football if they remained in the HHC they now would be a 3A playing two 4A teams and 5/6A teams. The turf field and weight facility are top notch. Now having the right people in place to attract kids and building up kids that will compete is the next step. Hoping this gets done soon as I have a 9th grade girl and a 8th grade boy that are both three sport athletes. Thirsty for success.1 point

They had upwards of 30 seniors on that team that went to semi-state. Many of them had been starting since they were sophomores. They had a lot invested in that group and it paid off. They will be very inexperienced this year.1 point

It’s counter-productive to try and chase people off the GID because you believe their opinions are unjustified. We need all the voices we can get. Difference of opinion is what makes the forum interesting. You should be thanking him, not trying to chase him away.1 point

I know this probably isn’t going to be a popular opinion…. but like schools don’t own any of these kids and these kids and families don’t owe a damn thing back. They should be able to play anywhere they want for any reason. coaches shouldn’t be having conversations with kids on other teams granted…but like….IM SO TIRED OF READING ABOUT RECRUITING AND TRANSFERS LIKE THESE FAMILIES OWE YOUR SCHOOL/TEAM SOMETHING. Families pay taxes to support these schools, volunteer so much time to these schools and not just for sports……they are legally obligated to send their child to a school and yet time and time again people cry foul or say whatever about these kids like they own them and the rights to them playing. Stop that. They are not your kids and they should be able to make decisions about their own futures on their own with their own families. Instead it’s always a looming cloud of the IHSAA and Internet personalities trying to influence what these kids do….and both have been incredibly inconsistent in their stances on the subject for years. again I know this probably won’t be popular but I really don’t care. This isn’t even about any particular team or kids…nobody owes your team or school anything some of these coaches/schools/fans spend more time trying to control kids than they do trying to make their school the best option for these kids….nobody actually cares about the best interest of the kids…they care about the best interest of their school and trophies in their halls1 point

They literally beat Valpo in regionals this year...I always thought people were exaggerating how braindead your takes were on FB but now I see what they mean. Don't bring the ignorance to the GID.1 point
