Eh, this week’s game against Carmel may move the needle a bit but unless they somehow shock Brownsburg in the sectional, I think we’ve seen the last of BD in Temp’s Top 25.

I noticed that yesterday when I was looking at the box score. Saw quite a few who had JMU listed in their previous seasons for prior stats. I was in Bloomington yesterday. Was very surprised by the fan turnout despite awful weather. Like you said, culture is huge. Easy to get young kids to buy into the culture you’re creating when it’s backed up by W’s and they’re having fun. Took my daughter to Mother Bears after the game for wings and pizza. Right now my money is spent in Bloomington on Saturdays while I ignore the crap show in West Lafayette.

Even with the crummy weather around most of the state many Run-Em-Up offenses still had it in gear against apparently hapless defenses. Heck we even had not one, not two, but three completely unnecessary 70-0 RUTS games this week. And by request a victims list has been added. Here we go. Let’s discuss the conundrum of Warren Central. Their best win is Snider yet they are #6. Who are they beating in the top 10? 20+ turnovers in 6 games. Lawrence North is up next week and I see a loss coming for Warren. Hey, maybe they prove me wrong, but LN just pounded Ben Davis and dropped 58 points on them while Warren squeaked by BD by 3 points in double overtime. Very interested to see this game

I think Mishawaka and Snider are dead even. If Snider runs the same offense they did against Homestead, they're a Top 15 team. Run/pass ratio can't exceed 4:1 and Landen Fry needs to continue leading the way. Great move by the Snider staff.

Nice win for the Colts, 27-24, over the Steelers.

Colts player is blocked into the QB and it's another "roughing" penalty. I understand protecting the QB but those two plays today are head scratchers.

Well, at least it wasn't as bad as in 1994. DeKalb beat New Haven 97-0 that year.

New Pal has played exactly one (1) team ranked in the Top 2000 in the nation (Decatur Central) and they tied them. BCHS, Martinsville, Roncalli and Brebeuf have all have higher quality wins. Head to head and common opponents (without head to head) are the best comparison tools. Martinsville beat DC by one point. Objectively, Martinsville, DC and New Pal are all equal. New Pal probably belongs closer to 17.

Once again…gotta win games. Not just gonna shuffle around the bottom half HCC teams weekly. You just cannot lose to Brebeuf…sorry. They’ll get their chances with the upcoming schedule.

They were on the list preseason but when I saw what Dwenger did against Moeller and compared it to East Central, I had pause. 23 game winning streak against in state teams.

I liked him from day one. Doesn't hurt to be confident. It clearly spilled into the program.

We have a new AD, hopefully he has more drive and ambition. The old AD was a great secretary but not a good leader. In the old days, love him or hate him Frank DeSantis was driven to have the best for the athletes and his entusiasm was infectious on the whole school. The superintendent is a paper tiger, says the right things but has no real action. One school board member is very active in improving things for all students and athletes, donates gear and equipment all the time and very active in youth sports. One school board is openly hostile to any idea of improvement and has mentioned to others that athletics isn't his priority. It shouldn't be the main priority, but don't say it isn't a priority. They seem to have a blase apathetic attitude anymore, and it is a real disappointment. As far as Coach Leeper goes, I won't question his effort or level of commitment, I question his game plans, strategy, and effectiveness. It is obvious to me that if you rank the 6 coaching staffs right now in the new conference, they are the weakest. That's not good enough. I don't know if they will fire him, Bremen doesn't like to rock the boat, but I hope he has enough personal accountability to step aside and let someone else improve things.

Cousins battling for top exciting

While there are signs teams really did not run up the score, there are cases where I do think the intent is to run it up. Columbia City was up 42-0 on New Haven with less than a minute left in the 1st half. While mistakes and turnovers by New Haven did not help, the game was well in hand before the half. They had already blocked 2 punts, returning one for a TD. CC runs their punt block again and get the block. With 15.5 seconds left in the half, they could have......actually SHOULD have taken a knee; but nope. so it's now 49-0 at the half. With a running clock in the 2nd half, they get a TD late, now 68-0, line up for a PAT, and run a fake. While the snap was bobbled a bit, it was clear from the way the wings played it, the fake was called beforehand. So they get the 2 points to get to 70. It was also clear that Coach Fox was trying to run it up.
