  1. Wow! LCC was down 21-0 and came back to win 22-21. I never thought they would beat Guerin. This is the first time in history that Lafayette Jeff and LCC have finished the regular season unbeaten in the same year. This is the 10th time that LCC has finished the regular season unbeaten. 1969...10-0 (No playoffs until 1973 1999... 9-0 (won state) 2006...9-0 (lost in the 2nd round of sectionals to Seeger 30-22) 2007...9-0 (lost to Clinton Central 28-27 in 1st round of sectionals) 2009...9-0 (won State) 2010...9-0 (won State) 2011...9-0 (won State) 2015...9-0 (won State) 2016...9-0 (lost to Pioneer 28-27 in Regional) 2024...9-0 (I don't know if they will win state) I don't think anybody thought LCC would finish 9-0 this year. This is the biggest surprise since LCC beat Sheridan in 1989. Lafayette Jeff is also 9-0 and could win state this year. They can play with anybody in 5A. Many think Merrillville or Plainfield will win state. I don't know what this means, but here are some games that might be of interest. Merrillville 14 Michigan City 12 Lafayette Jeff 17 Michigan City 13 Plainfield 24 Harrison 9 Lafayette Jeff 45 Harrison 21. Lafayette should enjoy this because Jeff and LCC might not finish the regular season unbeaten in the same year ever again.

  2. Cant say much about your conference but Bluffton has a hell of a good team. Coming from the Eiac conference down south he was the fastest qb we had seen all year. Could escape tackles and finish plays. It was a long ride for us last night but glad we got to play in a different part of the state. Good luck to all in the tournament.

  5. Had a QB start moving his shoulder on a hard count a few years ago, told him he needed to not do it again since he wasn’t doing it on every snap. Typically that was my go to when I had a conversation. Do it every play, you get more leeway. Do it once in a blue moon, you get a flag soon.

  7. I’d expand that to the country. IU is not the most talented team but I’d be hard-pressed to find a team that is going to be better prepared heading into Saturday than the Hoosiers. There needs to be a blank check on Cignetti’s desk Monday morning.

  8. Indiana has gotten better yes but with all the new players it had to take sometime. Indiana is the best team in the state and cig is the best coach...in the state. i said what I said

  9. Indiana 49 - Nebraska 7 at the start of the 4th quarter. Do you believe now??!! If not, when??!! This team is the real deal. Nebraska is a top 10 defense in the country and IU is shredding it. Defense looks great as well

  11. Ok…I guess….but the enrollment of 900+ to little over 2000 must work just fine given the number of state titles won by Cathedral in 5A. Could have sworn Cathedral won against BD and CG this year. Cathedral can play with anyone in the state.

  16. You would think coaches would be resting their starters for the upcoming playoffs, but oh no, about just as many acts of malfeasance as in previous weeks, and by a number of first time offenders as well. 17. CHS starting center going down caused massive interruptions in the offense. And obviously the bot he'd snap/fumble up 14-0 on the CHS 10 w 1:43 in the 1st half brought WC back in the game. A 14-0 halftime vs 14-7 was a big deal. We have depth at WR and RB still, but line injuries are no bueno. Cathedral's biggest struggle in 6A is we just don't have the numbers of the 6A, especially w linemen. 500 boys vs 2000+ boys in a 6A is a major equalizer for the Irish.

  19. Since this is the last regular season poll of the year, I’ll give a peak behind the curtain in case anyone is interested. Even though I only post 25 weekly, I keep a list of 50 teams in my notes. 67 teams appeared in the top 50 at one point this season. Here is my final 1-50 entering the tournament. Lawrence North Westfield Brownsburg Crown Point Warren Central Indianapolis Cathedral Center Grove Hamilton Southeastern New Palestine Carroll (Fort Wayne) Evansville Memorial Bishop Chatard Columbus North Fort Wayne Snider Decatur Central Merrillville Lafayette Jefferson Plainfield Concord Mishawaka Martinsville Elkhart Heritage Hills Bloomington North Fishers Roncalli Franklin Central East Central Ben Davis Warsaw East Noble Penn Castle Valparaiso Evansville Reitz Lawrence Central Fort Wayne North Columbia City Brebeuf Jesuit Carmel Avon Leo Zionsville Noblesville Bloomington South Evansville Mater Dei Gibson Southern Lawrenceburg Indianapolis Lutheran Garrett Beginning next week I will add an additional “eliminator poll” which only lists those teams remaining in the tournament.

  21. Westfield 44 Franklin Central 7 For the third week in a row, Westfield dominates a pretty good opponent. Rocks led 38-0 at halftime, so a running clock the entire second half. Rocks went with subs the endtire second half, and still put together two nice drives that both ended up in field goals. FC scored their only TD inside the last minute of the game. With the win and Brownsburg's loss to HSE, Westfield grabs a share of the HCC title!

  24. Happy 100th birthday to The Four Horsemen. It was 100 years ago today that Notre Dame beat a powerful Army team 13-7 at the Polo Grounds in NYC, a victory made legendary by the great Grantland Rice, who gave them their name. “Outlined against a blue, gray October sky the Four Horsemen rode again. “In dramatic lore they are known as famine, pestilence, destruction and death. These are only aliases. Their real names are: Stuhldreher, Miller, Crowley and Layden. They formed the crest of the South Bend cyclone before which another fighting Army team was swept over the precipice at the Polo Grounds this afternoon as 55,000 spectators peered down upon the bewildering panorama spread out upon the green plain below.”

  29. Yep. He actually played 7 on 7 with FC this summer. His GF goes to FC. He wanted to transfer here but for some reason he couldn't. He's close with a lot of people up here. Great kid. He was an innocent bystander. I heard the suspects are gang members from Louisville. Absolutely sickening and maddening. He was actually a D-1 prospect as a Kicker.
