We are allowed our opinions and perspectives and thank God we can agree to disagree. Let’s talk about it, especially when you say that football has “not a lot of real world value”. Does participation within a program that teaches them (youngsters youth thru high school) things like discipline, selflessness, commitment, ultimate team work amongst 33 pieces on Offense, Defense and Special Teams plus their coaches, managers, etc., sound like a good thing that provides world value? How about how to disagree and resolve conflict, how to stand up for what is right, how to have patience, how to love, how to have understanding, how to forgive, how to believe in oneself and others, to encourage, to demand excellence of the self and others, to lead, to persevere, to be special. I’ve only begun to scratch the surface of the true depth of what the greatest team game ever “real world value” is. Our football coaches, the true football coaches that are men and women of integrity and honor, take the responsibility of being a coach as serious as being a father because they know that most of society has lost that father of 4 that works hard and goes to church (very sad btw). So, someone in the village has to step up and help the parent or guardian that’s left guide that child to graduation and hopefully onward, so they can have a shot of becoming that impactful parent that deserves the millions of dollars and appreciation, but since that kid played football they won’t ask or care about it because of the values they learned from their coaches and the game. God bless our coaches that sacrifice their family time for others kids and may the impact they have be positive and long lasting. So that the values and lessons can begin to truly impact the real world. Yes, shoutout to all the guys doing great things outside of football and keep up the good work and doing by far the hardest job on the planet, being a good parent. Shoutout to the our football coaches as well who are raising their own kids and others.5 points

Apparently saying team a is worse than team b and or there is no reason to believe team a is better than team b is belittling accomplishments. So please everyone for boilernation's sake, please refrain from talking about who the best teams are, similarly please dont talk about hypothetical matchups3 points

I don’t argue about 6A as far as North teams go very much. It takes a special team, like 5A Snider in 2023 who I thought would have won the 6A title or 2015 Snider and New PAL in 5A who I think were the best 2 teams in the state to get me to joint that fight. Someone from the North is going to have to actually win a 6A title otherwise it is like arguing who wins when the hammer hits the nail…2 points

I could never be a coach as my first down call would be an end around, long bomb on second, tush push on third, and fumblerooski on fourth. On defense, all I would do is blitz…2 points

Seems like its time to let that ship sail and just let the Daniel Jones extension happen and cut bait with AR, perhaps trade to Cincy? DJ is 28, if he plays this well, some would say his PRIME has just started for next 6-8 years2 points

Little Rubbers @ Attica North Vermilions @ The Ponies The Tenderloins @ The Woofs Ode Visors @ Seegers A couple of notes from Donnie Baker Week 8 and I’m the only donor from the WRC. Maybe you Parke county fans can sell enough Buckeyes and hedge apples at covered bridge to help pay for your donation since you don’t have someone like my mom Phyllis to help out. If you want to spend half a thread slamming or over-praising a coach start your own thread or I’ll be rippin out some karate arteries and I’ll do it right to your face! ✌️💙1 point

Those Sagarin ratings seem to be under your skin a bit......don't let doubt set in. You guys are the #1 team in 3A in three human polls and for good reason. 7-0 and you did it in the gauntlet SIAC...and a metro P&P to boot. You guys should walk to Lucas.1 point

Awaiting, "Center Grove has won with 2000-2500 kids, why can't Perry/Southport? which is always next with you. "Eric Moore is great, their feeder system is top notch and everyone should simply copy it if they want to be successful." Suggesting any factors other than "hard work" are a contributing factor to CG's success always seems to trigger you. Wash, rinse, repeat. Maybe, just maybe a consolidated athletics program in Perry Township could develop into a nice little rivalry with CG so they don't feel the need to travell across state lines annually.1 point

Did you know there is only one college football program that is in the top 10% of both all time winning percentage and NCAA Graduation Success Rate? Guess. (Hint: It’s not Michigan.) 🤣😂1 point

I've kinda always wanted to play a battle of the "Ridges" ....Northridge v. Southridge ....and if I'm not mistaken - I think both of our mascots are the Raiders??1 point

I think its actually 0-11 now.... Isn't Coach N a big time Swiftie with his girls?? Coach, you may be facing a crossroads.......1 point

it is efficient....just over 7 yds a completion. Keep the chains moving with this type of attack. Wonder if Dickens can teach AR how to throw an accurate 6-8 yd pass??1 point

I would love to see a rematch of Brownstown and Linton in the regional. Both very good programs with hard nosed kids.1 point

nevermind i picked Carroll to beat CG as well guess I was wrong. But at least i just had a great trip down memory lane, that Carrol vs HSE thread was awesome.1 point

The boundary between EACS and FWCS on the southeast side of Fort Wayne is S Anthony Blvd. Harding’s location on Wayne Trace is at the eastern edge of the city, so the vast majority of their students came from the neighborhoods west of the school between Wayne Trace and Anthony Blvd south of Paulding Road. Those same neighborhoods are definitely closer to Wayne and South Side than New Haven and Heritage.1 point

excuse me? I was one of like 2 people on this website that predicted Carroll to beat HSE in semistate. If I recall I did pick CG to win the title, but obviously I would have been correct.1 point

90% is a little much..alot of Southwick n village woods middle school kids.. only had a few public middle schools as feeder programs..one for harding..the others for south...1 point

Yes, I am a big believer in matchups, but DC isn’t hanging with New Pal…. Hell, they lost to Avon who if memory serves correctly, has a losing record…1 point
-
That doesn’t even make sense Temp. DC would be a battle with New PAL, who you have ranked 3rd in the state, yet they wouldn’t beat Lawrence North. These ideologies which seem to be random and cherry picked to suit your argument, are too much as I crack open my last beer of the night…1 point

I have bashed the Northwest, Not the North, I've never said a negative word about the Ft. Wayne schools.1 point

We had to listen to Indy folk a couple years ago telling us DC was going to stomp a mud hole in poor old Snider in the state title game. What a joke that was!!! The funny thing is you all really believed it. Go back to 2015 and the great and mighty New Pal was going to demolish Snider at state… Yeah, that didn’t work out for ya either… Point is, I am fully onboard with Indy dominating 6A football due to sheer numbers, but I’m not at all onboard with Indy even winning 50% in the other classes. I’ve watched DC this year, they wouldn’t beat Crown Point or Carroll, much less dream of competing with Carmel. They wouldn’t win 5A either. Stop with the DC nonsense…1 point

I understand the premise here, but just for context: the 4 schools you list above (Jeff, Harrison, McCutcheon, and WL) are in the Lafayette metro area for lack of a better term, but are spread across 3 different corporations. Very different, at least to my understanding, with what is happening with the Terre Haute schools.1 point

Love this forum and the entertainment it provides. Touting your team or region while bantering with others from different parts of the state is all in good fun. But let's not forget that we're cheering for a bunch of kids that can push over their opponent, make a great noise popping tackle, or tuck a ball under their arms and run down the field and run real fast. These kids get one or two years of gratification and recognition, then go on experience knee and back issues 20 years down the road. Just one time, I'd love to see a packed stadium of 80,000 fans stand up and roar for that guy who works hard, been married for twenty years, goes to church, and has raised four great kids. Maybe even reward him with a million dollar salary as he gets recognized by the fans who paid to witness this man's achievements. It's the end, it's just a game with not a whole lot of real world value. Keep having fun, but remember, football isn't the be all end all. So a massive shout out to all the guys on this forum doing bigger things with their lives outside of being a football coach or fan.0 points
