  2. Beneficial...but not 100% necessary. The comferemce has repeated proven just that.

  3. Definitely looking forward to FRIDAY NIGHTS and the 2019 FOOTBALL SEASON!!! I know the Lions will have to replace the left side of the O Line, but return everyone else on the offensive side of the ball. Defensively the Lions should be stout, although we will have to replace stud middle linebacker Colin McCartney...no easy task! We have several young kids ready to step up and get some varsity minutes. I think it could be an exciting year for SHS!! I’m also looking forward to keeping up with WW this year...they should have a great season as well!! I hope my young cousin, Mason Armstrong has a tremendous senior season for the Senators!!

  4. I don’t think Gs fans have ever felt that’s SoS isn’t beneficial. But ya know...it gets old when you read and hear “you don’t play anybody” especially when the program is trying their best to work with the schedule they have.

  5. Possibly the same reason that, despite the fact that most races consume, sell, and buy pot in similar proportions to their population, Blacks are much more likely to be arrested for pot possession/use and to be incarcerated at higher rates than Whites. Even as pot laws are relaxed, Blacks still end up being arrested and incarcerated at a much higher rate proportionally than their White counterparts.

  6. Technically SR would keep that schedule. For the most part though, at least for me, it’s hit and miss with who I like and who i don’t. My personal opinion.... i think the proposal helps the likes of a lot of teams. Namely Tell City who always seems to be on the cusp of a team that could do great things. Pike central and forest park I think will love this too. I’m sure pike central would appreciate not being a homecoming stomping for some teams and would like to find some middle ground. Forest park I think would too. Im not sure on south Spencer. Personally love their true to heart football field with no track. But I understand that they may wish to move to a smaller school schedule that fits them more. Southridge i think wins big with this. Heritage hills and GS win and lose. They get an upgrade in SoS and that bodes well for the two teams with how successful they have shown to be. On the other hand, maybe not in the immediate future but the future none the less, what may happen if the programs have an off year. What will the fans think? Will there be cries for going back? just a quick list as what I think rolls out of this if it happens winners: Gibson Southern, Heritage Hills, Vincennes, Booneville, Southridge, Tell city losers: Princeton, Washington, Jasper, Mt Vernon

  7. Wait a minute...Muda, of ALL peopl in the history of this forum, including the various reboots, is now defending fundamentalist Christian groups? Well that is weird.

  8. I would say that Francis has done more than all other popes combined in this regard. Defrocking McCarrick is a big deal. Where others tried to ignore or cover it up, Francis did not. Can more be done? Absolutely....without question. There is no reason for me to believe that this pope will accomplish nothing. He has been rocking the boat since he has been installed. Let’s not forget that he recently exposed the “unwritten”, or secret rules for priests that fathered children. The last pope (JP I) to actually attempt a cleansing on this level did not last long at the helm. There is reason to hope.

  9. For what it's worth, the SAC had this idea in the 1970s when they started the league! http://www.almanacsports.com/football/conference.php?conf_id=summit Dan

  10. According to Mr. Doyel they did have a choice: Now I can understand such a petition for relief being granted in something like the death of a close relative. But relief because you were suspended earlier in the season? I don't think so.

  11. I wonder how many people posting actually know the coach personally? To make a broad sweeping statement expressing concern about a MS coach being hired is not fair. It is apparent from a coouple of posters that know him that he is qualified for this position. Best of luck to the coach and the Gavit program.

  14. Hammond Bishop Noll, Wood Memorial, and Trinity Lutheran are all IHSAA tournament eligible and have played football in recent seasons. Trinity looks like it will not play, so they most likely will not be included in the upcoming classification and sectional alignment for 2019-20 and 2020-21. Bishop Noll and Wood Memorial are the 2 that would need to express their intentions to play in either year of the next cycle. If they plan to play, even if it is only 2020-21, then they will be included in the classification and sectional alignment. I would imagine both will plan to play so they can be included in the alignment, which will mean 322 football teams. 32 in 6A, 34 in 5A, and 64 in 4A-1A. That means Bedford NL and Huntington North will be added to your 5A list, Yorktown and Danville move up to 4A, South Vermillion and F.W. Luers to 3A, and Taylor to 2A. Add Noll to 2A and Wood Memorial to 1A.

  15. I think you have 3A-6A correct. I have: 1A = Winimac - Deaf School 2A = Monrovia - Taylor (+Pioneer) 3A = Bosse - Luers (+Southridge) 4A = Greenfield Central - Danville (+Ev. Memorial) 5A = Jeffersonville - Huntington North (+Dwenger, +New Pal) 6A = Carmel - Valpo (+Columbus East)
