  1. SF still swims in the depths of the GID. Mainly hanging with the other fish from the past in the OOB bantering about politics and such. The NLC thread isn't what it used to be. SF, KF, WarsawDad, Rockie, and a whole host of others whose kids have grown up had the loud mouths back in 2006 - about 2015. I still stick my head in now and then every season just to see who's around. Not the same raucous bunch though.. I even had to become friends with Coach Dawson who became one of our suppliers after coaching.....He still calls me SF and I still call him Coach.

  2. I apologize if I missed this elsewhere, but is this just a one year alignment until a full enrollment can be performed? Looks to me like LCC just replaced Webo who also bumped up a class and everything else stayed pat. Pretty simple solution for a 1 year deal if its the case.

  3. LaVille will be interesting. As a Bremen fan, would love to play Pioneer again, if you want to be the best, you have to beat the best.

  4. IHSAA has the precedent that schools that share a district don't split into different sectionals. That is likely why they kept Frankton/Lapel in place. I'm not arguing in support of said precedent just that I have been made to believe it exists.

  5. Just saw that Pioneer picked up the newly formed 5A Hammond Central for week 5. I was getting nervous they wouldn't find anyone, but this will be a great matchup to prepare them for the 2A tournament.

  6. Nice sentiment, but under the all-powerful state some people, primarily politicians, are more "equal" than others.

  7. I could be way off base on this, but I think WeBo could potentially win this Sectional. I keep remembering everyone talking about how youthful they were last year.

  9. https://nypost.com/2021/05/25/restaurant-owner-blasts-gov-gretchen-whitmer-for-covid-hypocrisy/ A Michigan restaurant owner who was jailed and fined for violating COVID-19 restrictions said Tuesday that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer should face similar consequences for disobeying her own health department’s guidance too. “I feel like all of us should be on the same page. If I have to face penalties which I went through … I think she should face the same penalties,” Marlena Pavlos-Hackney, who owns Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria, said on Fox News. “We the people, we [are] all equal. It does not matter [that] because you’re the governor, we need to forgive you.” The restaurateur spent four nights in jail and paid a $15,000 fine in February for violating the state’s COVID-19 restrictions, according to a report. “Treat us with dignity and respect,” Pavlos-Hackney added. “We [are] all equal, we the people.” Whitmer, a Democrat, was forced to apologize Sunday for violating the state’s COVID-19 restrictions, saying she made a “mistake” by crowding with 12 other patrons at a local pizzeria. “Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols,” Whitmer reportedly said in a statement. “Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it. “In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human. I made a mistake, and I apologize.” The apology came after Breitbart first published photos of Whitmer, originally posted online by a friend, crowded with a dozen others at a table in an East Lansing restaurant — violating the state’s May 15 order that mandates a six-person maximum per table and that tables must be 6 feet apart, according to the Detroit News. The photo quickly sparked backlash, with a conservative group criticizing the governor’s hypocrisy — and demanding Whitmer lift the pandemic restrictions. “Whitmer continues to defy her own ridiculous restrictions while everyone else is forced to abide by them,” said Tori Sachs, executive director of the Michigan Freedom Fund. SF has to agree with the guy who was jailed and fined for basically the same "human mistake"....

  11. https://nypost.com/2021/05/19/joe-biden-ripped-for-joking-about-running-over-reporter/ Biden ripped for joking about running over reporter who asked about Israel This joke really crashed. President Biden is being ripped for joking about running down a reporter rather than answer a question about the ongoing deadly conflict in Gaza. Biden made the questionable quip Tuesday from behind the wheel of the new F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck when a reporter asked if she could ask “a quick question on Israel … since it’s so important?” “No, you can’t,” Biden replied bluntly. “Not unless you get in front of the car as I step on it.” The car-loving commander-in-chief insisted he was “only teasing” — but still raced away on a Michigan race track rather than accept a question on the ongoing conflict. He was quickly ripped online, with many noting how his predecessor, President Donald Trump, was routinely savaged for his own jokes. Had this been the former President, the headline would have been "Trump threatens reporter".

  12. That wouldn't surprise me. But back then, it didn't seem to matter what competition Penn faced. Chris Geesman found his way to five state championships despite playing a weak schedule. In all fairness though, Central Indiana wasn't back then what it is today. Two or three good teams for sure. But now it's ten or eleven. By and large, unfortunately many on here still have no clue what that means, a strong schedule goes a long way in building a program. As does enrollment. Penn was an exception to the rule when it came to playing a tough schedule. Center Grove has proven to be an exception to the rule when it comes to enrollment..............or not. Would Center Grove teams of today match up well with WC and BD teams of the past? I've said it before........ *I still don't think 6A is as strong as it has been in the past (the 90's), which allows a school like CG with an enrollment of 2500 to sneak in and get a few rings. *Just an opinion.

  13. Using last year's end-of-season Sagarins, it looks like this: 54 - West Lafayette 62 - Brebeuf 68 - Western Boone 81 - Guerin Catholic 147 - Yorktown 152 - North Montgomery 165 - Hamilton Heights 252 - Crawfordsville Looks like it could be pretty competitive between the upper half teams if they are similar to last season. Can't speak to what people have coming back besides Western Boone. If memory serves, the announcers made a point during their 2A state championship game of talking about how many underclassmen were playing and how they thought they were a year away before making a run in the playoffs last year. But I think they lost their workhorse RB in Taylor, their top WR in Garrity, and Marsh who was their top LB and was 2nd on the team in both rushing and receiving yards. They do return most of their linemen on both sides of the ball, 2 really good linebackers, I think most of their secondary, and their quarterback. I'm really interested to see them compete in 3A. How they do against Danville and Tri-West in conference could be a preview of how competitive they might be against other top 100 3A teams.

  14. Best way to fix this is get ride of the success rule. Set your classes and stop moving it around every 2 years.

  15. Agree but if they have to play in bad weather in the playoffs it could be a problem for them. I don't see a 2A defense stopping their passing attack but wind, rain, ice and/or snow could and they didn't show the ability to stop a good running game in the playoffs last season. I could see a Pioneer, Andrean, Eastbrook, or Eastside (or whoever emerges as the top teams in the North) knocking them off in bad weather. If they get back to Lucas Oil, I don't know how they lose. Clark would have to have a really bad game and 2A South looks like it could be kind of weak without Western Boone in it but you never know who may emerge or re-emerge. Linton-Stockton fans seem to always think whoever beats them is going to win it all. It's too bad they couldn't re-set the sectionals this year because 2A could use it for a little competitive balance. 3A too actually. Will be interesting to see if they end up back together in 2022. I'd guess so. LCC has no business going through the South.

  17. CIC changes every year. You still play all conference teams, just alternate venues and it’s never the same schedule from year to year.
