  1. I give @DanteEstoniaa lot of credit. It appears he/she may have differing views then myself, @Muda69, @swordfish, but we are all able to have very civil discussions here. Wish more people would join to liven the discussion. It really has been quiet for what appears to be roughly 15 months +.

  3. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/politics/elections/2022/03/18/indiana-libertarian-party-green-party-lawsuit-secretary-of-state/7089595001/ This lawsuit is welcome news. Democracy is more effective the more choices there are, and the uni-party has basically created an election duopoly. It needs to stop.

  5. Baseball is not the same game as used to be. Batters are looking to hit home runs all the time. If not, a strikeout or walk. The running game is almost eliminated due to the need for power. Starting pitchers are only expected to pitch 5 innings. The bullpen is the most important of the team right now Utility players have more value that ever in the game. The DH saves moves to eliminate your bench. Have to start looking at the game differently

  6. The college cannot host the event and third-party organizations (such as Ray Compton's group that has hosted the days at Lucas Oil Stadium and some HSBB daily shootouts at Gainbridge Fieldhouse and the Indiana Farmers Coliseum) are also not allowed to rent college-owned facilities, as it's seen as giving a recruiting advantage. However, a state association like the IHSAA *can* rent out a college facility. It happens very frequently - the IHSAA used Indiana State's arena for the girls basketball State Finals for a few years. It also uses Worthen Arena at Ball State for the gymnastics finals, IU's track, Purdue's softball stadium and IUPUI's swimming pool for their respective State Finals. It won't happen for a neutral semistate, because the rental costs are too high. But the idea of using larger high school facilities might work.

  9. I honestly don’t think the requirement to be willing to host is necessary - just an idea and I agree that it would be unlikely to have support from the IHSAA board. If the IHSAA would simply give schools more of an incentive to host, I think a lot more would be willing. Covering the cost of hosting and letting the host keep concession revenue just doesn’t make it worth the effort for an AD to want their school to host. Spreading more of the wealth from tourney revenues to host schools, and giving more schools a chance to pull in some of those revenues by letting them host (instead of the same schools that have admin on the IHSAA executive committee always hosting when others are willing) would help incentivize hosting and maybe eliminate any need to mandate hosting.

  10. For sure , prep time for a team like that is tough as well , IU always seems to get that hot rom 3 team in the tourney (2016 Sweet 16 vs UNC) oh well I said after the Wyoming win anything else would be a bonus 21-14 and a W in the tourney is exactly the boost this program needed! Obviously everyone will be hanging on the decision of TJD which wont be made for a while . Also who goes and who stays . the need to get shooters is very obvious but have so scorers coming in (Hood-Schifino and Gunn) plus the portal . This is how the current roster I think shakes out . Stays Leaves Xavier Johnson Trayce Jackson-Davis Trey Galloway Parker Stewart Jordan Geromino Luke Duncomb Anthony Leal Kristian Lander Miller Kopp Race Thompson Michael Durr Rob Phinese Tamar Bates Those 8 guys added in with the 3 incoming leaves 11 scholarship guys Gives you 2 scholarships to use in the portal: IU has reached out to Ball State Freshman Payton Sparks 6'9 MAC freshman of the year from Winchester , IN . a very interesting off season awaits for sure .

  12. Here is an example of waste: https://www.indystar.com/story/news/education/2019/11/19/red-for-ed-action-day-march-indiana-statehouse/4178392002/ Red for Ed I was given a day off, paid of course (Thank you to all the taxpayers BTW), to go show my support for Red for Ed. I of course did not go. My job is to teach and not be a political pawn. I went to school and worked.

  13. What makes you think I don't? I just don't buy that pushing the DH into the NL makes the game better or more marketable. Especially to a younger demographic. Professional sports, baseball included, stopped marketing to the family and went after corporations. Families were priced out or stuck in the nosebleeds. So kids (unlike my generation) didn't go to the ballpark in the numbers of the past. As a result, those kids that are now ticket buyers that didn't grow up in the ballpark don't care now. They have other interests. They have little to no tradition. If they truly wanted to bring the game back, they would make it more affordable to the family.....that includes tickets, concessions and parking. Generations care because they are there to establish love and tradition. If not, why should they invest their time and significant dollars? In addition, MLB started to play politics, hoping to pull younger folks....at the end of the day, they didn't care and some of us older folks that would prefer politics kept out of our entertainment, were turned off. MLB is reaping what they sowed.

  14. you were the witness of the child's behavior. move on. if they do not like it, they can take their tax dollars elsewhere. this is why school choice is so important. in 20 years of teaching, i have never had a parent say that to me.

  15. if you would research or just ask about wilson instead of the kmn emoji, you would have easily gotten your answer. a. produce american goods and buy american goods, see 3. b. raise tariffs on imports, you know, the thing that wilson cut to ram through the 16th, then immediately raised tariffs again. c. sales tax, which would give us the CHOICE to buy or not. FREE MARKET.
