Meh. Harbaugh is too smart for that crap. It was too recent on the heels of the Burning, Looting, Murdering that took place roughly one year before. All the Kaepernick supported.
Circus.
Great question. I’d honestly say no. 365 days ago, Harbaugh was viewed in a different light both locally and nationally.
To Jim it really doesn’t matter though. He is going to go about his business regardless of what others think.
To him this move was obvious.
To show current and future players and their families that he cares for them and is building lifelong relationships regardless of the circumstances.
He really is a genuine guy and I’m not dismissing ulterior motives but to some (specifically Michigan’s rivals) this is purely a move for optics.
I mentioned above it’s been a mixed bag but will honestly say that that bag has been about 75/25 on the positive end with Michigan fans/folks and the inverse when it comes to outsiders based on what I have seen/read.
The 12 win season/conference title and OSU win earned him some grace, lol.
I’m curious where you stand on a school corporation restricting students” food choices to “healthy” options. That seems sort of “woke” to me, so I assumed initially you’d be against it. But then I remembered your posts on the transfer portal issue, and how we had to restrict transfers to prevent the student-athletes from making “mistakes.” I’m on pins and needles waiting for you to pick a side.
Memorial has a lot of guys to replace on D : Shea, A. Farmer, Russell, Agler, Rogers, Filbert, Scheberle were all regular starters. Tyler, Dehner, and a few others got some reps.
But if anybody can pull that off, it’s Ben Johnson.
Last one was classic. Good find.
I said that Buchner would win a national title at Notre Dame, but that was back when Kelly and Freeman were a team. So I can't be held to that one. Kelly's chances of winning a championship in the next four years was better at ND than it is at LSU. We'll see how Freeman does on his own. He certainly has the talent currently there and the recruits coming in to be successful.
I was referring to "chosen ones" on a national scale. Not just Notre Dame.
I wouldn't take any of those guys on that list over Buchner. But I think Pyne is pretty darn good though. It'll be interesting to see how they both do during the Blue and Gold game. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Both quarterbacks are capable of leading the Irish back the playoffs. Right now I'm 55/45 in favor of Buchner.
I’ve seen both sides from UM fans, alumni and donors.
I’ve also seen what’s being said by players, recruits and their families about this move and they LOVE it which is what really matters.
Quirky or not, Harbaugh knows exactly what he’s doing here…and let’s be real (politics aside) if you are basing your fandom or donations on this one move, you really weren’t a fan to begin with.
Personally, I don’t care for the guy based on him talking out of turn and not being as educated on certain issues as many want to think he is… (like why would he try to get back in the very same league that he claims is a slave plantation?)
But then again, I’m not making millions of dollars to make choice for a football program/university.
Side note, where in the hell is @Footballking16?
Did he take his ball and go home?
There are other issues not mentioned. If a school is getting a certain percentage of free and reduced meals, they cannot sell what is classified as “junk food”. The other possible issue is that the school may have a contract with a vendor, so only drinks and snacks from that vendor can be sold on school grounds. My guess is it’s the former that is the issue.
FYI, we have confirmation from the IHSAA that Chatard will stay in 4A, Western Boone in 3A and LCC in 2A for both years of the upcoming cycle.
Looks like WeBo is 3A - especially with a growing enrollment - for good as it is.
I find it hard to believe that Chatard and LCC - who are two of the teams the SF was created for (let’s not kid ourselves otherwise) would be allowed to drop back after one year.
They have shown once before to re-write the rules to prevent Cathedral from dropping down. I expect that to happen again.
