  1. Have some unique perspective on Beimemy, as I have a real good friend who is good friends with Chiefs former QB coach, who is in NY last year and didn't have a lot of great things to say about Biememy from his time with KC. Interesting enough, same coach interviewed for all 6 NFL openings and had some interesting things to say about 3 teams for sure: Arizona, Colts, and Texans. Believe it or not Texans he felt were really well ran organization now that they got rid of some guy a year ago, they had their stuff together and could see them make huge steps moving forward. Colts interview, was told he couldn't do anything with the defense or special teams and that those staffs were locked in and couldn't be touched. Arizona, DUMPSTER FIRE. New Owner was an idiot, literally asked the coach this question, "What are your thoughts on President Trump". Then called him a midwest liptard, assuming he was being from Chicago, then went on for 90 mins about politics, turns out his best friend is current speaker of the house, he couldn't get out of their fast enough. Literally, NFL owner and that is what he is doing, smh, sad really

  2. -Reitz should be tops in SIAC but not ready to say Big Gap. Committed a lot of bad penalties last year and they were no-shows in the tournament. Certainly the favorites on paper. -VL should be in the top 4 with all the returning talent. Great athlete at QB. Need to finish games this year. -Memorial. I trust Hurley will be just fine with Fisher/Bryant, a top notch RB and athletes on the outside. Possibly one of the more athletic teams Memorials had in recent years. Worth noting..there’s also a Combs entering 10th grade. -MD and their staff always find a way to be physical and tough regardless of the names. -North is always scary but unless they replaced their OC they will be middle of pack. Always have dudes but just seem to fall short of expectations. -Jasper is just different than any team in the siac. Never underestimate the Cats. Tough to beat Jasper in any sport. -Castle played much better than I expected last season. Expect them to be very competitive most nights. Never short on QB talent or WR talent. Bosse, Harrison, and Central. just stay healthy in these games.

  3. Great summary/obit Easy....I agree with all you have stated. This is a critical off season for Woodson too. Next year will be the best gauge yet as to where the program actually is in its progress. I am curious too as far as any in State recruits if Purdue's epic fail, adding to their tournament history under Painter will have an impact/help IU. It may be a stretch because I honestly don't know how interested Woodson is in in State kids.

  4. Exactly. Very difficult to rank that 2-7 right now so prefer to group them into a tier because it seems like they could truly finish in any order. For example, I could see Vincennes/North finishing at 2 or at 7.

  8. Well 48 hours Later times time for 2022-2023 Obit I think the season and program in general is described as 1 step forward and 1/2 step back. There is progress BUT given to what was expected in Bloomington this off season maybe a bit of a let down. I consider myself a rational IU fan I said I just want a program that can win 20 + games and make the NCAA tourney because you never know what can happened in March. Mike Woodson has delivered that BUT the half step back ? IU was ran off the floor in the NCAA tourney the last 2 years by teams they were arguably as talented if not more talented than. Post game comments from Coach saying he's never had a team he coached that the Offense went through a post player is interesting and telling. Without Jackson-Davis to hid behind anymore a massive retooling of IUs roster is coming that will have to be done primarily through player development and the transfer portal. The 2023 recruiting class for IU leaves a little to be desired even by Pre-Woodson standards. IU swung for the fence by beige more of a Player on the national stage, Cupps and Newton have bright futures at IU in the back court for the foreseeable future but that might take some time. So im gonna play with the roster. assuming JHS is 100 % gone and X. Johnson will be back. X. Johnson - Starting PG and leader of team need to get some upperclassman maturity will have a good year T. Galloway - If he takes another step forward this year like last will continue to become a dynamic player on both ends M. Reneau - will be a dominate post player needs to be better on D and work to develop his range K. Banks - Showed flashes stole a lot of JGs min got a tighter leash at the end of the season needs to develop as a basketball player not an athlete Now we get hairy Tamar Bates - People forget that he had a kid this year. Going through your Freshman year knowing your about to be a dad , then your Sophomore year as a new dad is pressure I couldn't have handled as a 19 year old. But the way he continued to give himself the green light despite his struggles was tough to watch at times this year. Ultimately I think he chooses the the transfer portal and finds himself a nice home someplace a little smaller with less pressure. J. Geronimo - * transfer portal I just think injuries' held him back and he didn't develop the way we had hoped and he paid in playing time for it will seek playing tike elsewhere CJ Gunn - A coin flip for the Portal IMO might get mad that IU is activity going after more back court guys where we thinks he hasn't had the chance to prove himself? Woodson will tell him that he needs to change hos body and get stronger (very true) but i give it one more year in Bloomington next year will determine his fate. Anthony Leal - He's more than just an Indiana kid he's a B-town kid. watching him on the sidelines makes me more than anything want to wake up and hear he's a lights out 3 point shooter who will get time next year. I'm just not sure that's going to be the case but transfer or stay i respect the hell out of the kid and would root for him in any jersey Logan Duncomb - Seemed to be trending in an upward direction prior to his sinus issue that turned into surgery that kept him out for basically the whole season ? More at play here ? Possibly Obvious need at the 5 Not sure I think portal for a fresh start. This Leaves IU will 3 Big time needs in the Portal: Lights out 3 pt Shooter who can handle themselves on the D end (ie Matt Roth, Nich Zeisloft) IU tied to Timberlake from Towson but so is everyone and their brother. Also interest in FLA SG not known as a 3 Pt shooter I'm worries it could develop into the Dexter Dennis Situation all over again on Social media NOT a good look. a stretch Athletic as hell 6-6-6'8 Wing who can score at all levels (Gonna be the hardest to find or get everyone wants that) A 5 who is not the focal point of the offense but does he's job as a Paint protector and a scorer in the Low post . It will be an interesting Spring and Summer in Bloomington

  9. I can’t see Mishawaka leaving the NLC as long as Huppert is the AD. He’s an old Bremen guy from their days in the NLC and was in charge when they made the switch. Why would he go back? Plus from a competitive angle it’s a good fit for them AND they get a great gate from schools like Warsaw, Northwood, Concord and Northridge. Mishawaka is in a great spot and would be crazy to leave. Concord I don’t know, but even there what’s the incentive to leave a good situation? And I’ve reached out to some people I know in Bremen over the past day and from everything I’ve heard this is 100% happening and they’re just waiting to announce when the 2 other schools make their decision. I would expect a spring decision and this coming school year to be the final for the current NIC.

  10. Rankings are great as long as I remember it's based on projections for the next level. I've seen 5'11 and 6'0 high school players make 6'4 and 6'5 P5 commits look silly.

  11. I don’t see Mishawaka leaving the NLC, they seem to be happy there. Would NLC be open to Penn, Elkhart, St. Joe, Marian joining the NLC and splitting into the Big and Small Divisions. Big- Penn Warsaw Elkhart Mishawaka Concord Northridge Small- Northwood Marian St. Joe Wawasee Goshen Plymouth

  12. No argument from me....just saying that a 7 team conference would allow room to add schools. NP from a competitive perspective would be a fit...but agree on the drive time. I don't see Goshen moving from NLC...they struggle to be competitive in much in that league, and are shrinking (they just closed an Elementary). I don't see them jumping to an almost all 5A/6A schedule. I could see Concord and Mishawaka deciding to leave the NLC...it seems like the cavies just got there so not sure how much they'd want change again. I'll leave it to others to start the debate about whether the two P/P schools need to worry to much about "enrollment"...lol. I agree with PantherPride though that IF these schools leave the NIC, it puts Penn in a pickle. I think Penn tries to peel off the best of whats around in the 5A & 6A schools

  13. I hadn’t really thought how much the small schools kind of have Penn’s balls in a vice here. Say what you want about the small schools in the NIC but them leaving will cause Penn to make a decision. They can’t go back to the old NIC again. Riley, Washington and Clay have been getting beaten regularly in football by the small division. Those will be games that are over at the end of the 1st quarter for the Kingsmen. They can go and schedule a bunch of out of state matchups to beef up the schedule all they want to but when you have those games in the middle of the year how much does it really matter?

  14. Penn and Elkhart needed to either convince the Duneland schools to take them and expand the conference or put together something new with Homestead, Carroll, and maybe Warsaw. The time to do it would have been with the Elkhart consolidation, but it’s probably too late now.

  15. Or maybe Penn could form the Hated Independents Conference (HIC--love it) with Carmel, Cathedral, and Center Gove...

  16. Let the real recruiting begin! I’ve got a $25 donation to the GID that says he doesn’t go there.
