  1. I’m going to disagree on a couple of points as someone who is heavily involved with “a” high school all star game. I believe they do bring value to the athletes and their families as a nice way experience to end you high school career. I’ve been thru it as a parent, a coach, and now as they doing all the grunt work behind the scenes. I am a firm believer in them and we work very hard to make it a good experience for the players and their families. This has NEVER been about making money. We make enough to cover our expenses, which are sizable, and have enough left over for seed for our winter coaches clinic. Kids are always going opt out for whatever reason and that’s OK, it gives an option to another deserving player. Our game has been around longer than (insert stud name here) and it will be around after they don’t show up. The IFCA will survive this just fine and come back next year with a great game. You had a perfect storm of knuckleheads one year, move on.

  2. I’m pretty sure Cody Parkhurst is at the bottom of this.

  4. I didn't attend in person, but watched the stream and it was sad. It didn't take a behavioral specialist to see what players were instigating much of the issues, and the matter may have been avoided by simply benching them early on. Whether the coaches had 3 days or three years, its pretty easy to take a kid's helmet and tell him to enjoy the rest of the game from the sidelines.

  5. Shaking my head. Those are very good men as coaches on those sidelines. At least one of them is a sure fire hall of fame coach that will be on a very short list of one of the best this state has seen. Unless you were there, on those sidelines, observed what was going on between coaches, players and officials, your are speculating at best. (I'm being kind) As far as you handling the situation, I have no doubt in your mind that you are definitely the answer.

  6. Or even a series. That gets the message across: “Behave, or sit.”

  7. Much like the nfl these all star games need to be ended they bring little to no value for everyone financially I’m sure these run at a loss then add in the injury element next lack of stars Finally the reputational risk. Do the stakeholders really want to be associated with what went on?

  8. The 6A North runs through Hamilton County every year as long as they are sent North. A Fort Wayne Carroll, Homestead, Penn, Crown Point, Lafayette Jeff, etc. 6A North win would only be an exception to the rule.

  9. CG also started exploding in population in the late 90s also. I’m one of the biggest Eric Moore guys on here and he deserves every bit of praise for his accomplishments but the timing of his takeover was perfect and cannot be ignored.

  10. Which coaches? Those who had four years to instill discipline in them or those who had three practices?

  11. Wow, This thing has taken off into a full-blown blog of ridiculousness! We have posters saying they are coaches, but in reality are officials, acting "scott-free" with what they would or would not have done. Guys, not aware of the nature of ANY "All-Star game" and the looser nature of allowing participants to 'enjoy' themselves during the situation. I've never seen an All-Star contest officiated or conducted as a regular season game in ANY sport. Question: Who's the governing body that could or would hand out sanctions to a player or coach in this situation? Oh, right NONE! Has anyone ever considered that those who tended to make fools of themselves, just cost themselves the very opportunity to play at the next level by their actions last evening? I'm pretty sure that there was a myriad of scouts/coaches there from various institutions that took notes on the behaviors as well as the in-game abilities of some. Then made a simple determination....It ain't worth the trouble.

  12. The North South All Star game since it inception is a representative game to highlight our state players and coaches from all classes and corners of the state. D1 or not, that has always been the case, for some fans with D1 not participating the last 10 years ish, it has lost its luster for them, but for communities and coaches it really means alot, so I prefer to focus on that and believe that last nights actions by a few isn't going to tarnish the concept and event in the future

  13. How can a team have half a win? Looks like a lot of ties in the HCC.
