  1. Boy I hope this never happens. What a joke that would be. 2 classes of 16 teams? Cmon

  2. No one hid any facts. Sounds like none were posted to begin with. Backup your claims with verifiable links and you should be fine moving forward. You've been here 5 years, you should know how the site works by now. I'd also recommend becoming a booster: https://gridirondigest.net/clients/donations/

  3. I was not the one who hid the topic, but the standard that has been in place since Tim Adams started this site is that posts like the one you mentioned must have a link/source. The same standard has been in place regarding coaching moves and any matters involving player news. There was a post about the incident at NorthWood this past season. The original topic was hidden for the same reason yours was hidden; there was no link. Even hearing something firsthand does not meet the standard TA set over 20 years ago here. So the claim that this was about some "good ole boy" thing is not even close to accurate.

  4. When I posted this last week (and it was removed) I was told that I had a problem with Barron. The entire process of hiding facts and not letting people have opinions is a joke. As a father of a teenage girl I know that if any "teacher" slapped my daughter on the butt I would be going for his head. Since he is a football coach and a good ole boy we will just let him get away with it. The girl is the victim not John Barron!

  5. History made tonight in Evansville. yeah I know it's not football related, but this deserves a post here. In the 106 lb. class, Julianna Ocampo gets a pin with 15 seconds left in the 3rd round to become the first female in Indiana history to earn a spot to compete for a medal. I had Julianna in class and have her younger sister now, and am so proud of her for accomplishing this. She quickly fell behind 9-1 in the 1st round. She battled back in the 2nd round to get the score to 9-5 with some back points. With 1:30 left in the match, she takes the lead at 10-9. Talk about persevering. Not only is she a great wrestler, she is ranked 7th in the nation in the 105 lb weight class, but she is a great kid as well. It was really cool too to hear the place erupt when she took the lead and even louder after she got the pin.

  6. Sure you do, you give actual meaning to the regular season. Why should every team be entitled to play a sectional game? I've never heard of another postseason format that entitles an 0-9 team who loses every game by 50 points the opportunity to play for a state championship.

  7. agreed, but still smarting after their 63-7 drubbing of Purdue in the Citrus Bowl in 2023...

  8. I’ve paid zero attention to this story, I don’t know any of the particulars, nor do I care to. But the answer to anything changing is no, the knee jerk reaction is always the same, punish law abiding gun owners. Guns are a symptom of much larger societal problems, we’ve seen, guns (guns are easy, but also against public opinion can be difficult to obtain), vehicles, bladed tools, etc. Why don’t we look at what causes people to do such heinous acts? Guns are nothing new, guns have been around, how do we go from many students having shotguns and rifles in the school parking lot and nary a negligent discharge, to what we have today?

  9. Nah, that's not my point. I would be ok if we went to 32 teams in a class and stayed with 6 classes. I think it would be better to put a 10th game into play and give the revenue to the schools instead of the IHSAA. But you can twist it anyway you want.

  10. Word on the street (Trilly Donovan college hoops insider) Chris Holtman's firing at OSU has gotten the attention of important people in Bloomington. Fear is with several Mid-west P5 opening our friend in Boca Rotan FLA getting snatched up. "feelers" whatever that means have been put out in the back channels. Of course Woodson mouth pieces like Rabjohns are trying to down play the situation, but wouldn't deny the facts. As it stands today with 7 games left......... 0-7 or 1-6 some serious conversations will be had in regards to his future 2-4 wins for better or worse hes back next year but on a Kenny Payne level hot seat 5+ wins things calm down a bit and people see what they do in the portal this spring but still on shaky ground Dear lord here we go again 😅

  11. Oh I am sure its obvious who is lobbying for it internally, and I'm sure if he doesn't get it he will jump ship with his school duties elsewhere and cause a stir....IYKYK!! LBVS!! There are several coaches going to take a shot at this position I'm sure.... and I feel who they decide on will shock people and there will be a change of culture and back to their winning ways of the 90's!!! On that note where is Rosey at these days.... hmmmm!!!

  12. 100%. North Carolina, Virginia and Texas have always been the white whales. Only 2 chances now.

  13. @WWFan Brownstown started 8 SOs last season and will bring back 5 starters on offense and 7 starters on defense from our Top 5 squad last season. We will lose an incredible pair of defensive ends that were 3-year starters, I would say that is our most significant losses. We expect to be strong up front again with our two DTs returning (who will probably play more offense this season, as well)-- They are 6'5 285lbs and 6'3 250lbs and will both be JRs. Along with those two we bring back our MLB (SO last season), both outside LBers, one corner, and our strong safety. Offensively we will bring back 3 of our 5 starters on the OL, including our center who was a SO, and as mentioned--the two DTs might play some more offense. QB is back, who was a SO last year, and is having a great season on the basketball squad. We will need to replace some playmakers at WR and slot. Our WR last season was one of the better ones we've had, especially recently, and he had a huge sectional. We did have some playmakers at TE, WR, and slot on the JV team that I think will project well at the varsity level. Lastly, we lost our kicker and a school without soccer, sometimes that can be tricky to replace. All in all-- The work they've done since the end of the season/what they will do until August 23rd will determine how successful we are. As always, I can't wait for June. But we do get a sneak peek at them March 4th at our lift contest against BNL/WW.

  14. Why not? It's an Indiana high school football forum, and this is concerning an Indiana high school football coach. I will agree that rumors and speculation need not run rampant, but forums are literally built to have discussion.
