Hoping someone can knock off Luers. Only 2 out of the last 9 state champions in 3A have been public. Would be nice to see a public school win 3A again.

Heritage Hills will take care of that this year.

If you plan on doing that...then THIS had better be the year.

Having had the "lower level" Bishop Luers' teams this past season.  They have a BEAST of underclassmen heading to Varsity in the ensuing seasons.

Luers has yet to win a 3A title, you may get your wish.

Lot's of football left to play...things happen (injuries and such) - but barring something catastrophic, I don't foresee a 3A squad being able to hang with Heritage Hills. It's theirs to lose.

I know nothing about Luers, but would be willing to bet they are no Chatard from last year.

You beat North Posey by 10 last year Luers beat them by 37.

I’m not sure what your point is.  This isn’t last year’s team. I hope we’ll play things out and get to see how the two teams compare this year.

Every year I am on these boards some person runs their mouth about Luers and every year they come to regret it. Not a vintage Luers team this year, but the defense is really good and there are a bunch of athletes. Offense is ok, but let me tell you HH has nothing that Luers hasn’t seen a million times from 5A and 6A teams that are MUCH better than HH has ever dreamed of being. Keep that in mind as you run your mouth…

Whoopsie Evansville Memorial... Rietz is Private

Here were known as Reitz Memorial. Once we get out of Southern Indiana it seems to shift to Evansville Memorial..

If Luers gets to LOS against Heritage Hills, message me and I'll gladly back up my runny mouth with a wager. Say $100 on the ML as a donation to the GID? Seems you forgot to make your donation this year anyway..

I’d like to get in on that action. I’ll hit the Heritage Hills money line all the way through Thanksgiving weekend.

I also know nothing about Luers (other than their obvious storied history), but I know how good HH was last year, I know they returned almost that entire team, and I know how good the Memorial team they just beat was. Barring injuries, I think HH brings home a long overdue title back to Lincoln City. I’ll be rooting for the Patriots all along the way!

I find it interesting all the talk on here is about Luers while NOONE seems to think about Garrett in the north......could come back to bite some people in the next 2 weeks.....Garrett is for real....

From the perspective of someone from Fort Wayne, I think the excitment around the East Noble program, the continuation of Adams Central's dominance in 2A, and the emergence of Huntington North has overshadowed Garrett a little bit. No offense to them, I just didn't realize they were 12-0 until a few days ago. Good luck to them the rest of the way.

I like the Luers program, but I'm not going to hold my breath on them winning 3A. It's yet to happen. Good team this year, but they've had better. We'll see.

Only way HH does not win it all this year in 3A is if the Goldsberry kid stays home. If he is on the field no one in 3A is beating them. They have already beat two of the best 3A teams in the state in GS and Memorial.

Fixed that for you.

Go Braves, although they will hard pressed to match that Fort Wayne city speed and Catholic training.

Really? Made my donation earlier this year. I will be making another one so don’t need your offer. I am not a Luers fan, but HH would dream to have their resume over the years. They compete ever year against 5A and 6A schools, I am sure HH has nothing comparable so I think Luers would board the bus to LOS, which they have done MANY times, and not be afraid of big, bad HH.
