Big Transfer news in Elkhart.

Tayshon Bardo announced on X that he has committed to Elkhart leaving Penn.

Tayshon is a 4 star recruit who is a Wisconsin recruit.

Elkhart has

hit the transfers hard the last couple of years.

Committed lol

George Costanza once coined it's not really a lie if you believe it. I've come to the conclusion nothing truly happens to the youth if you don't get the likes social media.

I guess if that's what it takes to be competitive. Although, with their enrollment, they should be Top Ten without transfers one would think.

Hearing that we can expect more transfers coming to Elkhart.

Hope there's no poaching going on. It's one thing for a kid to come to you, but don't go after another coach's players. I'm not singling out Elkhart, just a general rule all coaches should follow. Good coaching starts from the ground up..............build your program from within.

Just posting this as a reminder.

The new transfer policy is here, whether we like it or not. Please be mindful that these players are still kids. From day 1 when TA created the first iteration of the forum and through this day, attacking kids is unacceptable. People may not like that a particular player has transferred to a school, regardless of the reasoning. Some of these transfers are bound to get some people upset, or even angry. There might even be rumors of coaches recruiting a given player. That is the kind of thing that falls under the rumor policy (when talking about a particular player and/or a particular coach) in place here. Have evidence? Report it. There are avenues to dealing with those things. Bottom line is please keep things clean; stick to the facts. Have a link with a kid that is transferring and where? Fine; that can be posted. But the "I heard..." is still not appropriate or acceptable here.

One thing to consider in this as well. A number of kids know each other from various 7 on 7 competitions, invite camps, and other workouts and camps. And they follow each other on social media. One player may consider transferring, texts a couple friends about it. Or a player announces a transfer and others see it and think about it themselves.

Good luck with those preseason polls, lol.

Cannot believe this is where we are in 2025.

Former cyo guy here, they "poach" all the time. Not saying their grass root efforts are for naught.

Kids talk and seem to know who has a shot at winning hardware and occasionally join their friends.

Honestly kind of pathetic.

Nothing pathetic about a young man looking to maximize his opportunities.

Just the overall, free to abandon your team at the first sign of "holy shit, I have to do it the coach's way." It's like Coach Knight said, "If we can't just drop a kid because we changed our mind, then why can they." Now, that might be a bit extreme, but you get my point.

The "pathetic" comment pertains to certain aspects, not the entire picture.

Go Clemson.

My issue isn't so much the transferring, it's the public spectacle of creating a clevor social media post to pat yourself on the back while publically announcing you've quit on your coaches and teammates.

Hence my "pathetic" comment. You get it. The other part of it derives from "poaching." Coaches, they know who they are, will do it. Again, middle schoolers are fair game. Leave the high school kids alone. Be a coach, build your program. Anyone can manage a bunch of athletes. Well, almost anyone.

Asking honestly here because I’m not very familiar with Penn or Elkhart—what new opportunities will this athlete have and how will those opportunities be more maximized at Elkhart compared to Penn?

No idea. Regardless, I’m certainly not going to second-guess the young man for making a decision based on whatever factors were important to him.

And for the record, I abhor the “look at me” culture of young athletes today. But clearly, it’s simply reflective of that attitude in the non-athlete population as well. It’s a generational thing.
