would you accept 9 guys

No, just nice to see the hypocrisy with Carmel losing and Cathedral tied and Chatard getting waxed how that is “normal” but Jeff being in a tight game is called out by you

I'm calling out Carmel in the other thread

haven't looked to much at Cathedral yet tonight, however Warren Central is slightly different than Muncie Central

Also Chatard is playing an undefeated Elder and I am already on the record perhaps prematurely calling Chatard down this year.

No idea why you always seem to think I am biased

If you came on here and talked about Caramel struggling or any of the power Indy group, I would buy what you are selling. As it is, I feel like you are an Avon lady selling my wife crap she doesn’t need and taking coin out of my pocket

Not always you in particular I am calling out as there are other touting the superiority all of the time. If the slipper fits, wear it, if not, slide it over to Temp… lol

The Cathedral Irish are 6-3 going into the playoffs, against some of the best competition in the area.  QB out, no problem, Irish 28, Warren Central 21.  They won at Center Grove and Warren Central!  Not a bad resume!  Oh, and I'm really glad to see that temp picked New Pal. 😉

I've got Warren Central and Muncie Central in a tight game.

Cathedral was down 7 starters tonight and lost another during the game. Elder won the GCL South and is undefeated which means they’re probably a fringe top 25 team in the country.

New Pal and Cathedral is probably the de facto state championship game and even that game might not be close. Cathedral extremely banged up right now but do believe they get a majority of those guys back for this potential matchup. If Cathedral can stay on schedule and not get behind the sticks, could have a decent ballgame on our hands. Team is not built to come from behind with its limited passing game, couple early scores and stops for New Pal could lead to an ugly outcome.

Warren would mercy rule Muncie.

Firstly (if that’s a word), I’m generally totally on board with you….but, hey….nobody can know everything about everything.

In any event, Elder returned the favor Friday having lost to Chatard 2 years ago 34-7.

Well…Elder being THE NO. 1 ranked HS team in the ENTIRETY of the State of Ohio just punched back.  I seem to recall the Elder Coach almost apologizing to Chatard for their submission some 2 years ago.

I’ll just simply ask just who in 1A through 6A in Indiana has played a higher nationally ranked out of state HS this year….outside of actual 3A sized Chatard?

Lest anyone forget, there are roughly 350 MALES 9-12 grade at Chatard versus Elder at 850 MALES……throughout Cincinnati.

Where I might disagree is that this is somehow a “down” year for Chatard.

It’s the almost the exact team that took New Pal to OT last year….just a year older (admittedly with some injuries)

Me too.  We are simpatico......just take the damn field goal against Cathedral....AND play ALL your starters the whole game.

That's my short run take.

That said, I've known Coach Rob Doyle for almost 20 years (in and out of his life as a prominent attorney....and my kid's coach as well) and Chatard President Bill Sahm in his prior business life (who's word was PURE GOLD) over the 30 years I've had his acquaintance.

I'll defer to either of these gentlemen any day of the week as regards their decision....even to lose a game.

They are different dudes than most anybody else I've dealt with in my business life....and I've dealt with both.  Maybe there are other people out there who act as honorably but Doyle and Sahm operate on a different level.  They are teaching life lessons....sometimes.....even to parents.

In any event, frickin' hated to see Cathedral pull out the win.

Sorry for being a bit preachy....last thing anybody needs to pay any attention to me about.

I 100% expected Chatard to have a rough night against Elder even with the game at Chatard. Elder is sitting in the top spot in Ohio Div 1 for a reason.

As for Cathedral if you were to tell me at kickoff the Irish would be up 14-7 at half and win 28-21 I would have called you crazy. I really didn't fully expect that, and I will say this Cathedral team is full of fighters. The Irish being down their starting SR QB, 1 of their top 2 RB's, their top SR WR, Their top 2 TE's (one of which leads the team in receiving), and their top offensive lineman, along with 2 defensive players. There were 7 on offense and 2 on defense ruled out before kickoff and they lost another defender on nasty unnecessary hit out of bounds in that game. The other SR RB put the team on his back and went off for 34 carries 241 yards rushing and 3 TD's to fight for that one.

If the Irish want to have any shot to try an beat New Pal they need to get as healthy as possible (a couple f players are out for the season). Things are set-up for them to try an get healthy with a 3 weeks to do so being out against WC, with a bye week, and a game against Anderson prior to a possible match-up at New Pal. Even without those starters they have been scrappy. new Pal is a solid well coached team though and the Irish want to be healthy.

In the Sagarin ratings, Cathedral's SOS is #4 and New Palestine's SOS is #57.  Cathedral has played three out of state teams that don't count in those ratings.  Not predicting anything, but just stating what Sagarin's computers are thinking.

Zero doubt the Irish are battle tested and will not see any level of talent against New Pal that they haven’t already seen.

Its a fascinating matchup.

Agreed. New Pal won’t be doing anything that Cathedral hasn’t seen already several times over. Injuries and who is available will probably determine the outcome
