Guest DT
I find myself, quite surprisingly, not missing sports this spring. I really thought I would miss it. It first hit me when they cancelled the NCAA tournament. I only pay attention when IU is a factor, and that has not been the case for a long time now. Ive rarely watched the tournament over the past decade or so. Didnt miss it at all. Generally, Im not a hoops fan and never watch the NBA. Nothing lost there. I used to catch some high school basketball in Indy, but not since I left Center Grove. I thought I would miss the NHL and my beloved Chicago Blackhawks. Fact is, the Hawks have not been in the mix for 5 years now, and the great glow of the 3 Time Champs has faded considerably. Ive loved 3 Hawks teams in my lifetime. The early 70s Hawks with Hull, Makita and Esposito. The mid 80s Hawks with Savard, Secord and Bannerman. and the 2010 thru 2015 Hawks with Kane, Toews and Crawford. The Hawks destroyed their future when they traded Artemi Panerin, The Bread Man. Certainly, my all time favorite professional sports franchise, The Chicago Cubs, would rekindle my interest in sports. Oddly, Im not missing it. Im finding other things to occupy myself. Doing a lot of fishing this spring actually. The Masters, British Open, Wimbledon, Indy 500, Kentucky Derby? All came and went with a whisper. Didnt miss them. Went fishing. I may be a small symptom of a very large problem that televised sports may be dealing with in the near future. The loss of the "senior" fan. Maybe God loves football. He released the Corona Virus on humanity just after the Super Bowl. Perhaps it will be contained just in time so that the 2020 football season can start on time. And I always thought He was a baseball fan first and foremost. 😀

Rodney
Rooster fighting (that is ok right? I once got in trouble for swearing) and antagonizing both sides of our current political spectrum on social media. I also took an interest in people watching at wal mart for a while, but it got dull quickly with the whole "social distancing" shenanigans

This is the longest stretch in Cubs history they have gone without losing a game. At the same time, the Cardinals and Reds have not won a game yet. The Hawks look better now than they did most of the season. I call it a mercy killing.

Basementbias
Found a different outlet to watch sports. Started watching people play the NCAA football games with created teams and certain stipulations to make it a challenge for them to win. Also watched other sports videogames they played using college & pro teams in different sports as well as the iRacing stuff. Now I just want to watch it since the real deal isn't quite back and won't be the normal for awhile. Also have been helping the step kids with their 4H projects, but the majority of my time has been chasing after my kids that are 2 and almost 1. If I wouldn't have found the sports videogames to watch, I'd be missing it more. However, the kids & step kids along with work have been keeping me busy so my down time is late at night, like how I'm posting at this time. 😁

Guest
I’m embarrassed to say that I regressed to my teen years and am getting my kicks by playing NCAA 14. Updated EVERYTHING (rosters, coaching staffs, schedules, etc) to reflect 2020. LSU just won its second consecutive national title. (Don’t worry Irish fans. You went 12-1 and finished #6.) The 2021 season started last night. Edited June 14, 2020 by Guest
AG
I purposely planned my annual vacation, for 3 weeks in March, so I could stay home and watch the NCAA tournament. Instead I ended up stuck with a 5th grader who didn't want to do e-learning. I restarted my eBay business selling sports jerseys and T-Shirts and I scratched the sports itch a bit by catching up on two seasons of Battlebots. I also helped my wife in the garden quite a bit.
