Completely agree with you. RC is a good program, well coached with kids that buy in. They also run an offensive scheme we don’t see often and tends to give us fits.

Rensselaer coming back down in 2A taking the place of Laville in that sectional will keep it more competitive. The Bombers have always been very competitive in 2A, are well coached, and I expect they will be again this year being back down. We always scrimmage them at Manchester camp and are always impressed with a lot of their guys.

I'd be a little bit careful predicting future successful/rebuilding years based on MS classes. There have been many programs across the state that have crowned MS groups "state champs" before entering HS only to see that same group fall short of the ridiculous expectations people build based on the performance of 12-14 year old kids. On the other side, there have been unsuccessful groups in MS at AC - as recently as the seniors that started the state appearance run - that have gone on to earn success when it matters most.

Eh, I don't get too caught up in it. Indiana will go red on November 5th and that is all that there really is to it. The dems' (really both parties) inability to provide a different viable option is to blame. The fact that the polls have Trump (a guy being threatened with prison time) ahead of Biden is proof of how bad its gotten.

Rensselaer runs a great program in a fabulous town, I've always had mad respect for the Bombers.

Warsaw has had almost 2 decades of really good kickers - I may be missing one or two, but off the top of my head, I can remember the following kickers in the last 20 years that have gone on to play at the collegiate level: Jeremy Sharp - Rose-Hulman Jordan Quiroz - Butler Jake Rogers - Cincinnati (made it to the final cut in 2 or 3 NFL preseasons, but never made an NFL roster) Matt Franco - Indianapolis (I think he played on the Greyhound soccer team too - or maybe he only played soccer in college) Andrew Mevis - Fordham / Iowa State (was cut by Jacksonville Jaguars during training camp and has bounced around the UFL and IFL) Harrison Mevis - Missouri (currently signed by the Carolina Panthers) Mason Smythe - current Warsaw kicker that will most likely go D1 8 kickers in 20ish years of football going on to play at the collegiate level, 3 at the D1 level and another likely headed that direction is honestly pretty crazy when you think about it.

Know what you mean. Retired from youth coaching back around 2020 when COVID wiped out the season. I realized that COVID was just the catalyst when I attended an LCC scrimmage with Harrison a couple of years later and I'm going down the LCC varsity roster looking at all the kids that I had coached in the youth program that were playing varsity. I then looked at the coaching staff and realized that four of their coaches were kids that I had coached in the youth program. Was definitely time for me to pass the reins with or without COVID.

As long as there is no undue influence, I support this. Coaches can leave for better opportunities, so why not kids? I like that it takes the IHSAA out of the process for determining whether a transfer was for athletic reasons or not. Why does it really matter? Coaches leave for better positions all the time.
