Why would it be conflicting? Notre Dame Football fans root for Notre Dame football. They aren’t playing IU’s basketball team are they? And I’ve lost interest in a 9th place B10 football team to even care.2 points

The conference commissioners set this system in place to benefit themselves. They set up the automatic bids for the top 4 seeds. Arizona State finishes the season ranked 12th, but they get one of the byes. Two things happen after this. The playoff expands to 16 teams. That would eliminate 99.99999999999% of what has been discussed this entire weekend. No byes and the top seeds all get a home game, and no need for locking in automatic bids for the top 4 seeds.2 points

You would have thought they’d pitch a shutout every game with all those all staters!2 points

No doubt. Not sure if this is a knee jerk reaction, but one thing is for sure after watching those games yesterday… I like Notre Dame chances more and more. If James Franklin can put 37 points on that Oregon defense with a week to prepare, they are far from unbeatable. A lot of question marks for almost every team.2 points

That’s a really big part of it. There was a time when the Gary schools were formidable football programs. Same with Hammond. The decline in the steel industry over the last 50 yrs., with the corresponding negative effect on steel support industries, resulted in huge population declines and population shifts in urban NWI. Changing demographics is also a big part of it. The Hispanic population has increased significantly. But, as @Muda69 has pointed out many times, Hispanic athletes tend to gravitate toward sports other than football. To me, the mystery is whether the population boom south of US 30 is going to translate into athletic success. St. John, Dyer, Crown Point, Cedar Lake, all are experiencing housing booms, many of which are move-ins fleeing the People’s Republic of Chicagoland. Schools like Crown Point, Lake Central, Hanover Central, Lowell, and of course, Andrean, should benefit. Their potential path is similar to places like Center Grove and Westfield. Notice I said “potential.”1 point

Absolutely the home games are a huge advantage. Especially for the northern teams if they play a southern team. Projections I’m seeing is that ASU will be in top 4….which seems crazy.1 point

3 state titles in the Stateline area with Adams County in Indiana and neighboring Mercer County Ohio! Great year!1 point

Really? From everything I've heard Helton appears to be the front runner1 point

Since we're throwin' around of names for the next Boilermaker's coach, how about Urban Meyer. He's about due to get the coaching itch again and maybe he'd like to build a program from scratch. Just a thought.1 point

UTSA coach was contacted based on my local mole in San Antonio who coaches with a guy who is connected to HC of UTSA Leopold has like an 8. million dollar buy out, that probably eliminates him I think I am rooting for TULANE guy. I could see Helton as well1 point

Stinky, Stink, Stink 1.2..3....I think it is time for the Clown to speak about this game! The Patriots stormed from Lincoln City, To the Oil Can, showing no pity. Fort Wayne Catholics thought they’d run the show, But Heritage Hills shouted, “Not so!” The clowns were drunk, the nuns were bold, Hook-ups rumored (or so it’s told). For Luers fans, that might have been bright, ‘Cause their team’s game? A downright fright. StinkTown swears they’ll be back next year, With Tiger BLs and cans of cheer. If Semi-State brings them down south, Expect empty cans and a rowdy mouth! Public schools forever, they do it right, Private school cheaters? Stay out of sight. So here’s to the Patriots, champs of the day, Lincoln City’s pride, the 3A way!1 point
