  2. Watching the inaugural girls State Wrestling Finals; some impressive records and achievements among the finalists. And huge news for many of them, The NCAA voted today to sanction D1 Women's Wrestling for next season. https://www.ncaa.org/news/2025/1/17/media-center-ncaa-adds-womens-wrestling-as-91st-championship.aspx

  4. I hope he sues the shit out of the district and the kid and her family. Break their banks. Make a point that this shit can’t happen.

  5. I will just say this as a college athlete parent, keeping in mind my daughter played Softball and we always knew there was no million dollar contract at the end of this rainbow. I have to think for the masses that’s still the case, 90% of the college athletes have to know the same thing. I did my homework on coaches we talked to during the recruiting process, I wanted the same values we as parents were trying to teach. And obviously the education. Somehow all that stuff gets lost in all this. I realize I’m from another time, but there’s nothing wrong with having some values.

  7. Sue the shit out of the district and the kid and parents. Break. The. Bank! And if they can’t sue, for what ever awful reason, this tells you how F’ed up the law is.

  8. My guess yes.. How soon will it be until athletic programs will begin phasing out more and more of the "non-revenue" generating sports....those sports that prepare our future Olympians....... Stanford already attempted this....only big donors and lawsuit threats prevented them from doing so. But with all the $$ going to football and some to hoops, I can see this day on the horizon. https://www.si.com/college/2021/05/18/stanford-reverses-decision-eliminate-11-varsity-sports#:~:text=Stanford has reversed its plan, men's volleyball—in July 2020.

  9. SO - is there any ramifications to the school/district/student who brought these false allegations forth?? Seems like, just looking at it from the outside - a vindictive student completely ruins a guys life (I mean, from what I'm reading - the Coach was fired from his position, correct? So assuming that means he had to find a job outside of the education profession)

  14. CLARKSVILLE, Indiana - A familiar name is set to return to the Clarksville High School football program - Coach Jason Hawkins, former Clarksville High School football standout and son of long-time Head Coach Dennis Hawkins, will take the helm as Head Coach for the Generals in the 2025 season. Hawkins' return was given the formal go-ahead at the Clarksville Community Schools January 14th board meeting, he will also accept a Physical Education teaching position with the school. The change follows the departure of former coach Zach Hensel who led the team for two seasons and recently stepped down citing a desire to prioritize family. Hawkins will take the helm as the Generals 9th Head Coach in the program's 63 year history. 16. So, I watched the video from the PMS that @Coach Nowlin posted. I guess Steichen said publicly "well, players are gonna be late" as if he was ok with it......yep, so many things snowball from that. Wrong tone to set; time to go.

  20. That's a good pickup for both teams. You get the feeling that Pike could be a team on the rise. They're definitely always fast and athletic, and Coach Brevard has done a very nice job putting together a quality young staff. With Crown Point, you get a team that's building itself into a powerhouse up north. Win-Win for both schools (except for the travel).

  22. I was not the one who hid the topic, but the standard that has been in place since Tim Adams started this site is that posts like the one you mentioned must have a link/source. The same standard has been in place regarding coaching moves and any matters involving player news. There was a post about the incident at NorthWood this past season. The original topic was hidden for the same reason yours was hidden; there was no link. Even hearing something firsthand does not meet the standard TA set over 20 years ago here. So the claim that this was about some "good ole boy" thing is not even close to accurate.

  23. Whatever helps you sleep at night. It’s a kids game. Big Mac is a leader of men. Isn’t that what your fearless gm says he’s looking for?

  24. Muda you can thumbs down all you want, it doesn’t change the facts. Delusional bears fan. With that SB ring and leadership ability.

  25. The same real bears fans that are delusional? If he can coach, he can coach. Which he can. Face it dude, Aaron Rodgers was right, they (Packers) own you (Bears). Can’t even put the two organizations in the same sentence in terms of well run organizations. But always remember, it’s just a child’s game being played by millionaire adults.

  26. They will screw it up anyways. Bears fans can be delusional. I’m hearing in order to get Johnson, Poles is out the door. It’s gonna be Big Mac. Who cares if he coached the packers?

  27. "Just a bit outside!" "Mr. Baseball" - Bob Uecker at 90. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/43439250/beloved-brewers-broadcaster-bob-uecker-dies-age-90 MILWAUKEE -- Bob Uecker, the voice of his hometown Milwaukee Brewers who, after a short playing career, earned the moniker "Mr. Baseball" and honors from the Hall of Fame, has died. He was 90. The team announced Uecker died Thursday morning, calling it "one of the most difficult days in Milwaukee Brewers history." In a statement released by the club, Uecker's family said he had "faced a private battle with small cell lung cancer" since early 2023. "Even in the face of this challenge, his enthusiasm for life was always present, never allowing his spirit to falter," the family said.

  29. Can't believe Brownsburg came back to beat Ben Davis. Major credit to those kids for not quitting and fighting back to win that game. Maybe this game can be a turning point for Brownsburg's fortunes in the playoffs.
