I'd still take the case. Why don't you contribute to the GID and become a booster before you call the folks who do contribute mean names?3 points

i've no idea what constitutes the true north, but if somehow a plague runs through Carmel and someone north of them sneaks into los they are going to run into a Brownsburg buzzsaw2 points

I'm confused by your question... because, again, my coach would NEVER do that to me/us. Verbatim at the time.... before practice, "if you feel dizzy or not right, SIT OUT and tell a coach"... I played for (and now coach under) a HOFer. We also DIDN'T have a trainer. What you're describing is negligence as a coach and disgusting behavior. We were educated on what could happen to us in the heat, though.2 points

I’ll be very surprised if this is the case. The IHSAA requires that every school have protocols in place to prevent heat-related illnesses, and to deal with them on an emergency basis if they occur. On the other hand, thinking like a lawyer, these well-established protocols provide a road map to a successful lawsuit if they’re not followed. What has been publicly revealed about this so far? Has it been confirmed that these were hear-related illnesses, as distinguished from some sort of a virus that was exacerbated by heat and physical activity?2 points

Googles "vociferous." Hmmmm.............."in a loud or forceful manner." DONT USE WORDS YOU DONT KNOW THE MEANING OF! Rainbows and unicorns? You're posts wouldn't be half as annoying if you actually posted a "rainbow and unicorn" type of post once in awhile. If it wasn't for topics like this one, you wouldn't contribute at all. You're a fire starter, that's it. Nothing more. A sad figure.1 point

happy to have carmel back in their north gatekeeper position, will keep me from having to hear about how overrated we can make crown point each year. and i'm excited to see a real battle for the 6a championship, but I like brownsburg this year.1 point

Snider has always had medical staff at practices, trainers and sometimes doctors. As with this case, the student athletes spoke with the athletic trainer who told them to "push through it". I can not disagree with you on the negligence and behavior of the coach. I do not recall any staff member ever speaking about heat related illness'.1 point

I mean.. I graduated in 2009 and was well aware of every risk. I was also accumulated to the heat and properly hydrated. I told my coach I was dizzy one time and I sat the rest of practice. That was 2005.1 point

Holy cow! It’s only Wednesday and we are on page 2!! Happy to see the page back and Donnie leading the charge. Seeger @ RP - A great early season game. I’m never one to pick against the Panthers. The two teams met this summer at a controlled scrimmage. I’ll go with the home field advantage. Panthers by 12. 32-20 NV @ SV - Coach Cory gets another W at home vs the Falcons. 22-20 FC @ Covington - I believe strength of schedule is normally a non-factor in the early season, but it comes into play here. 0-3 FC gets on the board. The FC defense is too tough and beats 3-0 Covington. Personally, I’m a huge fan of the Willoughby kid and the way he plays safety. And Wemer kid is a big DT that’s hard to move. They’ll control Covington’s offense. Attica @ PH - Coach Dean vs Coach Rector. A battle of the two kindest coaches in the WRC IMO. Just great dudes. I give the edge to PH as I believe C. Burgess will be the best player on the field this night and cause issues on the edge for Attica. it’s great having this forum back. Good luck to everyone and stay healthy.1 point

Really, that's it? Lol, you're banned from this thread.1 point

Had to. Couldn't defend Snider without defending HSE. But in all fairness, I wasn't at that game. Carroll's stadium is bleachers, so I'm sure both sides were cold. Spuller is concrete built into a hill................MASSIVE difference. Hard for me to argue that honestly, I'm still taking Carroll. Some of the hits they delivered against Center Grove were off the charts. Really looking forward to seeing how good this team can be come playoff time. I don't see any of their SAC opponents coming within single digits. Dwenger has a good defense though it appears. Good to see the Saints back. Lol, gotcha, sorry for the confusion. At least it gave us an excuse to banter. And yeah, gotta do this again, "every damn year." What fun would the forum be without someone up north claiming this is the year the North wins 6A? I do think it's comical though how posters underestimate Buzea. Crown Point is looking pretty good. Destroyed Pike. Thought you said Pike was gonna win?1 point

Thanks @Donnie Baker for trying to get this back on track. @ThePrince you can start a Herb King Lovefest Post somewhere else. Maybe after FC actually wins a game this year. Back to the games... Attica @ Parke Heritage - The Ramblers are heading in the right direction. It takes awhile to crawl out of a hole. The Woolfs have beaten some pretty bad teams. But they have scored well in their two victories. (Something must have been off versus Crawfordsville) Scoring eluded them last year. I want to say the improved Ramblers can take this one, but I got to go with the home team. PH 27 Attica 13 Fountain Central @ Covington - Speaking of the Mustangs winning, I think it happens this week. Regardless if they're healthy or not. The Trojans are a paper tiger. Do not be deceived by the 3-0 record. I think FC is way too physical for Covington to handle. FC 28 Cov 7 North Vermillion @ South Vermillion - Can H.S. football games end in a tie like the NFL preseason? I've heard the Falcons are struggling with numbers and I've heard the Cats are playing plenty of young kids. Either way, both are rough situations to be in. Too close to call. This actually could be a pretty entertaining game. Seeger @ Riverton Parke - Game of the week for sure. The Patriots impressed me by beating LCC in week 1 and followed that up with 2 blowout beat downs of Benton Central and Attica. I believe the Panthers have been more battle tested in playing two solid teams in Cloverdale and Fountain Central. Who should both finish with decent records. Heck, a 2.5 hour drive to play Edinburgh couldn't have been an ideal situation. That being said, the beat down RP dished out last season AT Seeger (40-6) has to be in the back of the Patriots' minds. As Donnie has already pointed out, despite some critics, RP is for real. Can Seeger match their physical play? We'll see, but I'll take the home team. RP 34 Seeger 141 point

Play on. Same as if the ball were to hit a bird in flight. But if your drone is flying over the playing area, that’s a problem. You’re going to get a call from N. Meridian St., and it won’t be a pleasant one.1 point

Just some background info. Claims based on injuries allegedly caused by school officials are governed by Indiana’s Tort Claims Act. Under the Act, you can’t sue individual school employees based on acts committed in the course of their employment. The proper defendant in such cases is the school corporation. The negligent employees are not personally liable. Under the ITCA, a person injured has to file a notice with the schoo of intent to make a claim within 6 months of the injury. Failure to do so bars the claim. if the claim is successful, the maximum amount an injured person can recover is $700,000. Punitive damages are not available under the ITCA.1 point

Oh, I'd take that case. Easy money. Gross negligence to not provide water and breaks in extreme heat. But at least the Snyder coaches are tough guys, right?1 point

Or could FWCS's have an attorney up here in Fort Wayne who'll have this thrown out as a "laughable" case? Not saying the situation was a laughable matter, just saying there may not be a case in the first place. All you're doing is speculating on something you know absolutely nothing about.1 point
-
Don’t be ridiculous. Is it a bad look? Absolutely. Does that mean football is over in Fort Wayne? No1 point

Why would it need to be "100% silent"? Do your fans only use the "golf clap"? 😅 Most drones are sufficiently quiet as to be muffled by the typical noise coming from even the most conservative and dignified crowd; "Bravo Reggie, GOOD SHOW!, old boy"1 point

Did you see the program he took over?! Complete dumpster fire. Now FC has some light on the end of the tunnel and it's all thanks to Herb King1 point

We still have all sorts of errors that you guys don't get bothered with popping up that I'm chasing. After I get the server's configuration all set up for our purposes, I will work on setting up the new booster group for this year. I'm glad you guys are all still here and enjoying yourselves.1 point
