  1. I am paraphrasing below: The GS receivers aren't as fast as Jasper VL sees a 4 man front all the time so they are very comfortable with the GS 4 man front. GS plays soft coverage so that gives their receivers more confidence unlike Jasper who will get in your face on press man coverage The GS QB is good and a good runner...he is a one cut physical type runner The GS RB 22 gets downhill in a hurry and can make you miss GS is big upfront as usual and they once again have a large senior class like past years If you can withstand the initial drive and tempo by GS they will come out of it and slow down the game The QB Cooper is healthy The Freshman QB has played really well and will move to WR opposite of their other nice receiver which will give defenses a problem GS doesn't pressure but goes to a 5 or 6 man front from time to time GS runs what they have been running in the Hart era and it looks a lot like Jasper who they just played so this has them ready GS doesn't play near the scheulde they do If they get some turnovers and penalties they will be in good shape

  2. No need to be sorry , I'm over those games , you apparently not because you can't go a season without mentioning . I'll disagree on 2004 . Snider beats warren 7 out of 10 times in 2004 .

  3. IMO for HH it'll be a "Next Man Up" kind of year in a lot of positions. Losing a Mr. Football candidate and at least 4 D1 recruits is never easy, but there's talent in a lot of the underclassmen who have been getting a lot of playing time this season. Either way, no need to think about next year when there's so much football left to be played on the road to LOS

  4. Never doubted the state championships, but win totals? C’mon man…you’re reaching pretty deep for some flexes these days. Of course you are going to lead the state in wins when you spent how many decades as the only school north of Indy with 2500+ kids and play in a JV conference. But #1 in 2023…

  5. I think I broke grok he couldn't find total W/L ratio for everyone since 2000 so he used dominance points from 2013-2022 ## Top 25 Indiana High School Football Teams by Total Wins Since 2000 I was unable to find a pre-compiled, comprehensive list of total wins since 2000 for all Indiana high school football teams. However, based on available data from various sources, I can provide a ranking based on dominance metrics from 2013-2022 (as a proxy, since dominance is closely correlated with wins, rankings, and championships). For reference, Indianapolis Cathedral (a top team in that list) has 243 wins, 90 losses, and a .730 win percentage from 2000 to 2024 (including playoffs). To present the data, here's the top 20 from the 2013-2022 dominance list (the source doesn't have a full 25, but these are the top). The points are calculated as: 25 points for No. 1 in state rankings, 24 for No. 2, etc.; 50 for No. 1 in national rankings, 49 for No. 2, etc.; 20 for each state championship; 10 for each championship game appearance. This reflects performance and wins in recent years, which likely places them high in total wins since 2000. | Rank | Team (City) | Dominance Points (2013-2022) | Estimated Wins/Losses/Win % (Note: Proxy only; full since-2000 data not available) | |------|-------------------|-------------------------------|-----------------------------------| | 1 | Center Grove (Greenwood) | 478 | N/A | | 2 | Cathedral (Indianapolis) | 308 | 243-90 (.730) (2000-2024) | | 3 | Carmel | 285 | N/A | | 4 | Ben Davis (Indianapolis) | 272 | N/A | | 5 | Warren Central (Indianapolis) | 235 | N/A | | 6 | New Palestine | 184 | N/A | | 7 | Westfield | 171 | N/A | | 8 | Indianapolis Bishop Chatard (Indianapolis) | 163 | N/A | | 9 | Brownsburg | 138 | N/A | | 10 | Avon | 132 | N/A | | 10 | Columbus East (Columbus) | 132 | N/A | | 12 | Roncalli (Indianapolis) | 122 | N/A | | 13 | Penn (Mishawaka) | 116 | N/A | | 14 | Fishers | 101 | N/A | | 15 | Hamilton Southeastern (Fishers) | 98 | N/A | | 15 | Lawrence Central (Indianapolis) | 98 | N/A | | 17 | East Central (St. Leon) | 96 | N/A | | 18 | Fort Wayne Snider (Fort Wayne) | 89 | N/A | | 19 | Andrean (Merrillville) | 86 | N/A | | 20 | Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger (Fort Wayne) | 80 | N/A | Note: The dominance points are from a 2023 MaxPreps analysis covering 2013-2022. For a full since-2000 ranking, a custom aggregation of year-by-year records from sources like IHSAA, AlmanacSports, and school sites would be needed, but that data is fragmented. If you have specific teams in mind, I can try to find their individual records.

  6. Warren had more than home field advantage that game. Not only was it in Indy, it was played in a fairy tale environment. Real football outdoors? That's a different game at Freed Field. Outcome is the same, but MUCH different score.

  7. I'd say 5-5 without Lewis, 8-2 or 9-1 with. Won't argue with 7 of 10. Lots of things went Warren's way that night with Snider's best player on the sidelines.

  13. Laville at Culver: Gimme the lancers as they begin prep for next week's matchup against the Blue Jays. NJSP at SCUM: Jays come out firing in a game where they can keep their dinged up players out to heal up for the Lancers. Carroll at Winamac: Cougars get a running clock by half. North Miami at Northfield: Warriors win this one handily. Southern Wells at Triton: Trojans get up big early and cruise into the semifinals. Pioneer at Caston: Hopefully the Panthers stay focused on the comets and dont have a repeat of last year's sectional game where Caston took it to them some. I look for the Panthers to win this and set up a top 5 ranked matchup with Frontier next week.

  14. Linton ran this offense in 2006 and part of 2007 with a lot of the same coaches on the current staff. Even if you can read your keys and stay disciplined, it is still difficult to figure it out.

  17. LOL. I did not mean 2 PAC. Although I hear he was a fine rapper... I agree. I doubt Boonville will be able to keep it within 2-3 scores unless the JCats have an off night.

  18. I was on your side only because I wanted it to happen. But let's be real there's absolutely no way it was happening. Probably the only big school indy matchup I would favor cp to win other than like tech or southport/perry

  19. I think where Crown Point is seeded at 4 is pretty accurate. You have to look at it this way: 1 Seed Carmel - Would you say Crown Point is better than Carmel? I wouldn't. Would you say CP would be 8-1 playing Carmel schedule? I wouldn't I could see them at 4-5 or 5-4. 2 Seed Westfield - Would you say CP could do better than a 34-10 loss to Carmel or a 14-10 loss to Brownsburg? I wouldn't. Would you say CP would be 7-2 with Westfield' schedule? I wouldn't I could see them at worse 3-6 best 5-4. 3 seed Fishers - Would you say CP could do better than a 49-24 loss to Carmel, 42-14 loss to Brownsburg, or 14-7 loss to Westfield? I wouldn't. Would you say they would go 6-3 with Fishers schedule? I wouldn't I could see them 3-6 or 4-5. So I think 4 seed is pretty accurate for Crown Pont if there were to be seeding.

  22. Here is a look at what the 5A bracket would be if the IHSAA chose to seed the tournament based off of the Sagarin ratings. Still split north and south with 17 teams in the south and 16 teams in the north. NORTH: #1 Merrillville vs #16 Hammond Central #8 Valpo vs #9 FW Northside #5 Warsaw vs #12 McCutcheon #4 Concord vs #13 SB Adams #3 Michigan City vs #14 Munster #6 Hammond Morton vs #11 Kokomo #7 Chesterton vs #10 LaPorte #2 Lafayette Jeff vs #15 Goshen SOUTH: #1 New Pal vs Winner of #16 TH North & #17 Anderson #8 Bloomington North vs #9 Floyd Central #5 Whiteland vs #12 Castle #4 East Central vs #13 Columbus East #3 Bloomington South vs #14 Seymour #6 TH South vs #11 Franklin #7 Plainfield vs #10 Evansville North #2 Cathedral vs #15 New Albany

  23. Love it. Better seed hosts in the first two rounds and then neutral locations for the regional/semi state.

  24. I 100% expected Chatard to have a rough night against Elder even with the game at Chatard. Elder is sitting in the top spot in Ohio Div 1 for a reason. As for Cathedral if you were to tell me at kickoff the Irish would be up 14-7 at half and win 28-21 I would have called you crazy. I really didn't fully expect that, and I will say this Cathedral team is full of fighters. The Irish being down their starting SR QB, 1 of their top 2 RB's, their top SR WR, Their top 2 TE's (one of which leads the team in receiving), and their top offensive lineman, along with 2 defensive players. There were 7 on offense and 2 on defense ruled out before kickoff and they lost another defender on nasty unnecessary hit out of bounds in that game. The other SR RB put the team on his back and went off for 34 carries 241 yards rushing and 3 TD's to fight for that one. If the Irish want to have any shot to try an beat New Pal they need to get as healthy as possible (a couple f players are out for the season). Things are set-up for them to try an get healthy with a 3 weeks to do so being out against WC, with a bye week, and a game against Anderson prior to a possible match-up at New Pal. Even without those starters they have been scrappy. new Pal is a solid well coached team though and the Irish want to be healthy.

  25. On a sidebar, Coach Felix Chambers took the reigns of the Southwood Football program in 1969. Until the hiring of Coach Tyree, all coaches following Coach Chambers were either assistants or had played for Mr. Chambers. At the conclusion of the '23 season, the coaching tree lasted 53 years!! Welcome to Southwood Coach Tyree!
