  1. Interesting to see so many folks who are not involved with New Pal speak on what's best for New Pal Fascinating 😂

  2. My main point being, I’m here for education based sports. IMG is not education based sports, it’s something entirely different and I chose not to support their business model. I’m here for the kid who’s going to end up being my insurance agent.

  3. I have my own personal Coach Lou story. When I was much younger, I was very active in the Indiana State Bar Association. One year, the Association’s Spring Meeting was in South Bend. I was in charge of the program at the big luncheon, and the speaker was Coach Lou. So, there I was. Sitting up at the head table with Lou Holtz and Father Hesburgh. Needless to say, I was in a star struck daze the whole time. As the lunch was finishing up, Coach Lou leaned over to me and said “Bob, how long would you like me to talk?” I was very conscious of the fact that we were in the middle of Spring football, and I didn’t want to impose on him. And, of course, we had a schedule. I said, “Coach, if you could give us 15-20 minutes, that would be great.” He got this funny look on his face, and said “Bob, I’m just getting warmed up at 20 minutes.” He got up and spoke extemporaneously for 45 minutes … and he talked faster than those guys who do the disclaimers in tv commercials. Then stuck around afterward to talk to people. Coach had a well-deserved reputation for graciousness and generosity. And while he coached, and was successful, at several different places, his heart belonged to Notre Dame. R.I.P., Coach. Take your place up there with Leahy, Ara, and The Rock.

  4. Very soon we will celebrate a life extraordinarily well lived. But today, on the 148th anniversary of the birth of Knute Rockne, the Notre Dame community is mourning the loss of one of the immortals.

  8. I believe 2 years ago the enrolments came out in March (about this time 2 years ago) and Sectional assignments came out in May.

  9. haven't heard anything really: Perhaps, they are changing the roll out and will just roll out the classifications with new sectionals all in same roll out?? Doesn't seem likely .... but yea a bit later than normal years All good here: I trust our members here who have sliced and diced to pretty good accuracy it seems.

  13. 33 in 5A. I think the intention is to set classes in all sports by enrollment first and not move any teams down in response to another team’s bump so no team benefits from another team’s success factor move.

  15. Another great one is he says my wife and I were on the beach. This woman in a bikini walks by and I looked at my wife and asked, why don’t you look more like her? She said back if I looked more like that, I would not have married you. 😄

  17. Agreed. And he was arguing a call against the player that refused to play the other night. I guess I’m old fashioned, but I would’ve cut ties with the kid after the game. I know it’s a different world today.

  18. Oh for sure. I then see the SB is in LA next year too. You are saying it perfectly. All good my guy. I get it. Probably just a rant on my part. I don’t remember lol.

  19. Numbers released. Can everyone relax the *uck out now?

  20. Based on the numbers provided so far and assuming there won't be any changes when the IHSAA officially releases them(not counting on it), here's an idea of every class and the possible sectionals for each team based off of what I think will happen. I will admit I am most interested in 2A, so didn't put as much thought into the other 5 classes but I tried my best, enjoy. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1NciF91zy63EMbqP18JsTnlvm4LFnG3o&usp=sharing

  21. Some might argue traditionally, FC would win the All-Sport trophy year in and year out by finishing 2/3 in most sports and win all the CC sports. That has changed some over the years. VB and BB in particular has had some good teams. It is what it is man. Speaking of country club sports, I played Golf in HS, my coach was a great player, we always played East (Otter Creek) and North (Harrison Lakes) on the road, because our coach loved playing those courses.

  22. NewPal is an incredible program, but it doesn't seem to me to have enough upper tier D1 talent to give IMG Academy a ROI for making the long haul to Indiana as a recruiting trip. Seems to me both schools schools just needed a game.

  23. The reason Super Bowl players were taxed in California is because they worked there (in California) for at least a week. That’s what California law requires. If it had just been a weekend trip, California taxes would not apply.

  27. As it's already been posted by some on here, South has such a strong relationship, for the lack of a better way to say it, with the HHC in so many sports, that I think they would prefer that route rather than joining a conference for what would primarily be because of football. They do not have much of a relationship with the Circle City schools outside of some recent football games, and maybe my memory is faulty on this, but I can't even recall when they last played any of those schools in basketball, not to mention the other sports. I just don't see that happening, unless the HHC thing falls apart, and even then I have my doubts on it.

  28. Independent means travel. Travel means money. Money is something in short supply in public education these days.
