  1. I would expect us to have a 28th amendment to the Constitution before the IHSAA has a multiplier.

  2. Indeed That amendment will get voted down by score of WHATEVER THE VOTES ARE to ZERO I believe the 6 quarters of football is a HUGE plus for small schools I expect that to pass

  3. Spending the USA into oblivion certainly cannot be blamed on Democrats alone. Almost every Congress/President since Nixon has done it exponentially. With the exception of Newt and Bill.

  4. Sports proposals typically begin with the coaches association. They poll the coaches. I have been told the IHSAA is typically looking for a majority participation from the coaches and a 70%-80% yea vote to go along with depending on the the proposal. Proposals coming from particular sports then go thru the IIAAA (Indiana Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association) to try and gain favor with the AD's. You need to have your ducks in a row and present proposals to the IIAAA at their November meeting, to get things on the agenda for the IHSAA's Annual Meeting. I've never been involved with the principals association, but I would assume it's a similar process. I don't think each process happens exclusive from each other. I know some proposals coming from the IIAAA are sometimes discussed in the principal meetings.

  5. Probably the same ones waiting for resident "libertarians" to pay their fair share of free market road access, etc., Evangelicals to put their vote where their Bible really is, and fiscal conservatives to hold their presidential leader beholden to the party platform. Sure, why not? I don't think he'd argue with you.

  7. "They" were doing it before the Democrats. What planet have you been living on? I don't agree with the spending proposals of any current political party. Out of control spending cannot be blamed on one party was my comment. Reading comprehension-it's important.

  8. If will be 7 and 7. HH will go up MV will go down. MV will dip below HH next enrollment cycle anyway is my guess.

  9. This may well be an issue to be resolved by SCOTUS. But not “directly.” The ability to initiate a lawsuit in the Supreme Court - called “original” jurisdiction - is limited by the Constitution. Article III, Section 2 restricts the Court’s original jurisdiction to suits between states and matters involving foreign diplomats, consuls, and the like. For this matter to get to SCOTUS, it’s going to have to start in a district court, then the Circuit Court of Appeals, and then to SCOTUS ... if they decide to hear it. They don’t have to accept the case ... in which case the ruling in the Circuit Court of Appeals becomes final.

  11. Payne, thanks for the clarification! Did some more digging and we are actually in need of a week 5 and 6 opponent as well as an official scrimmage. Please disregard my first post.

  12. Likewise ... GOP had about the same last time around ... ended up with a non-fiscal conservative, non-Evangelical, non free-trade candidate. Had nothing to do with "socialists."

  13. Also, some changes are voted on by ADs and Principals in their Area Meetings. Commissioner Cox runs through them and takes votes. He will put his own spin on items and even if it is approved through the coaches association, conferences or particular area of a state does not mean everyone will agree with it. I have seen the Northern and Southern parts of the state approve a proposal while the middle part of the state voted against it, and was not approved. I’m not saying the middle part of the state has more power, but simply 2/3 does not always rule, especially if the commissioner doesn’t agree.

  18. Read the first book back in the 90s. When they threw Bran off the Castle wall I stopped reading. My oldest was a little younger than Bran's age then. Broke my heart.... Picked the series back up and read it gleefully about 15 years later when I was ready to throw my oldest out of the house.....unfortunately, I didn't have a castle wall at the time... Timing is everything.

  22. Not arguing GID policy, but he's already resigned and made it known to the local media that he expects to be approved at another school on 4/15. If for some reason the new position isn't approved, it won't be because of anything that has been posted on the GID. Personally, I'm sad to see him go. There is no question he made positive and much-needed changes in the historically undisciplined Bears football program, and of course the result in his one year speaks for itself. It will be very interesting to see how this plays out and whether the new coach, whoever it turns out to be, can maintain the same positive trajectory. If history tells us anything, there will be new (old) challenges next season.

  23. Again, so what? The only appreciable difference between Democrats and Republicans is whose money they want to confiscate. Uni-Party.

  26. I would happily pay my "fair share" for private, free market road access. Especially here in Frankfort where the city streets are falling apart while the Mayor and City Council spend millions of taxpayers dollars on a new park, new pool, and probably a new police station. What is the highest income tax rate you are freely willing to pay, foxbat?

  27. Please define/explain "Fair Market" as it relates to income tax rates.
