Indeed, high school rankings don't account for some things.  We have some lineman that are going to have to step up in some very big ways if we are going to do any justice to that top spot.  Then, you never know if a highly recruited kid is going to do what Gavin Wimsatt did and not play his senior year, graduate early and head off to school.  That's always a possibility.

I think computerized preseason rankings are dumb because they don't know about "new" varsity players hitting your roster.

But it's good as a conversation starter.

His projections are mainly dependent off the prior season for his algorithm for his preseason stuff. Calpreps is a tad bit better since they plug in returning production (if coaches submit that info). But yes, a very good conversation starter while we wait for the scrimmages, haha.

Like it's been pointed out, these numbers/rankings are something to create discussion in a period where there is not much going on for the average fan. We still don't know what the rosters are going to be like going into the upcoming season although we have a pretty good idea of the core players returning. Injuries certainly play a part as players prepare for the new season, so there is that. I'm pretty high on Bloom. South as a fan with the return of sr RB Braylen Townsend, who will be one of the top running backs in the state, as well as jr 6-5 QB Duncan Combs, who will also be up there with some of the better QBs in the state. I don't know just how things are going to develop for the o-line with some losses there, and needless to say, they will play a big role in how things go with Townsend and Combs. The defense is another question mark and I'm not close enough to the program to know how the coaches see that side of the ball going into the new season.

I'll take North Central to play Brownsburg  in the Regional. They should give LN and LC all they can handle. NC is Top 6 in 6A next year. Heard it here first. Two years they'll contend for 6A. Even with the idiotic Washington Township 2.0 rule.

Doesn't account for the new IHSAA transfer portal either. Some big names heading to new schools will shake things up more than normal.

Will there be any way of knowing who goes where?

interesting comment....what makes you make this claim about such a rapid turnaround?  Appreciate your confidence...but a tad skeptical with your prediction.

I think you might be forgetting that Warren Central will be in that sectional as well…NC is going to beat LN and WC?

North Central would struggle to finish in the 4th spot of the SAC let alone Top 6 in all of 6A............unless there's something the rest of don't know.

I was skeptical at first but I do believe he knows something most people don't. I'm guessing he knows about there new QB they picked up. Based on that, I'd say they definitely have a chance to compete in 2-3 years.

Not saying you or he are wrong, but Suburban Indy football is reliant on at least 22 above average guys to be competitive. Having a good quarterback is certainly a good start. Good luck to them.

Since your profile shows Cathedral....I absolutely believe you probably know what's going on. Out of curiosity, do you know if there happen to be a bunch of stud freshmen who played for Cathedral this past fall that might not be going their next year and may be going to a place like North Central? I don't know but just have a hunch.

Damn near Cathedral's entire freshman team transferred to North Central this offseason.

Wow, seriously?

For what reason?
