Don't the South Bend Schools share School Field which is turf during the playoffs?

I know my SB partner had his SS down there last year and sat and watched rain most of the morning and afternoon. He was told by local officials as soon as it quit, give them an hour and he said it was like watching a well oiled machine go to work on the diamond. My point being:

A) They seem to know how to handle natural surfaces. &nbsp
B) Not every school will get turf because some people just prefer grass, and in most cases those fields aren’t hard to figure out.
C) It sure looks like they’re amending the substrate for turf.

It's turf. I did find more info on it. Adding visiting side bleachers as well. When my kid played their for JR high couple years ago i said it felt like playing at a local park. Think new scoreboard going in as well.

I was at Floyd last night and they are replacing their turf. I actually saw the old turf head out on a flatbed.

Thinking NA will be replacing theirs too?

I would bet on that happening. Typically what they do for one school, they'll do for the other. I got a piece of the turf they just pulled up. I think they're gonna do some kind of tribute for a couple of players that we are still mourning.

The turfs being installed now are better than years past? Read how the NFL may consider going back to grass due to injury concerns and wondered if the purpose of turf is solely due to weather concerns? How will kids be able to rub some dirt on it if there are only fibers and rubber? What about the grounds crew? Oh the humanity!

I sure hope their is nothing planned on these fake fields over the upcoming Heat Wave next week.  The temperature of a fake grass field is 35-55 degrees hotter than a grass field.   Somebody will get hurt.

Folks should’ve thought things through a bit better.

Baseball and softball fields should be turfed before football fields are turfed.

Teenagers should be asleep at 5am.  Part of the optimal sleep pattern for adolescents.

You must have never played on Brownstowns grass field to not realize how much safer our turf field is
