Coach Nowlin Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Hey I look at it like a badge of honor, if Luers HC was that nervous about our massive OL on a dry field that he had to soak it to create an advantage, I will take that win on that particular subject. 15 years later Quote

Irishman Posted November 21, 2025 Posted November 21, 2025 Derrick Henry is in town for the Luers Knox game to see McLaughlin play for Knox. Someone in the Nosey Neighbors page for the area got a picture with him. 2 Quote
FW HS Football Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Luers D looked outstanding. By my estimate, they held Myles McLaughlin to around 65 yards. He’s a tough player, and he still made several big tackles for Knox on defense. The Knights controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball and put this game out of reach early. The running clock was in effect for most of the second half. After watching replays of many Knox games, I still believe Myles should be a unanimous pick for the best player in the state. He was a blast to watch. Best of luck to the Knights (and the Saints) next week and best of luck to Myles as he moves on to the next chapter of his life. Quote
Gridiron_Junkie Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 According to the Knox broadcast, Myles only had 30 Yards rushing Quote

Gridiron_Junkie Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I thought he had more than 30 also, but that was what the man on the radio broadcast said after the game had ended. Quote
Coach Nowlin Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Knox looked to be spinning their wheels up front, led to very good box players of Luers to eat all day long I don't know what the record is but as Luers ever lost a regional or semi state at home? I remember a few years back Andrean winning on a last sec FG I think in Regional or Semi, but don't remember any others. Quote

Lafayette?) The loss to Andrean at home was the semi-state game in 2014. (That one I remember vividly, as it was the "Two and ten, never again!" year.) Quote
Antonio Browns Alter Ego Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 I was in a weird spot rooting for Luers since I'm from the area but also rooting for Knox to hopefully see Myles break the record at state. But with that said, I am not shocked at all with the result. Combination of Luers talent and their schedule always prepares them for a postseason run. Congrats to Bishop Luers and good luck next weekend. Go get a State Championship for the area. Quote

By the end of the game both teams looked like they were wearing black jerseys. I think Luers led or it was tied at half. West Lafayette was just a beast that year. Karlaftis got all the press rightfully so, but they had athletes all over the field. Quote
temptation Posted November 22, 2025 Posted November 22, 2025 Poor Myles is getting roasted by the “I told you so crowd.” Quote

D line consistently dominated and was often in the backfield before he got to the line. Even King Henry isn’t doing much then. Quote

Some were saying Knox center was slow to snap the ball. Was that a problem or was Luers line just that quick getting in the backfield? 1 Quote

They did have a lot of mental mistakes like false starts but that’ll happen when you feel overwhelmed. Quote

Also, running that type of offense against Luers was never going to work. Had shutout written all over it. Reminded me of the Snider/Decatur Central title game a couple years, after 3 offensive plays, I knew there was no way DC would move the ball on Snider. Had that same feeling watching Knox against Luers. You can’t run a Pop Warner type of offense against real competition… Edited November 22, 2025 by Komets2727 1 Quote

Maybe Rochester should voluntarily move up to play in the 3A region sectional...then again good chance Andrean is there next year. Since they beat Luers I assume they would be considered real competition. Quote
