ptr Posted March 4 Posted March 4 Per the Indy Star, here are the enrollment gaps in the classes. *The gaps in football: 6A, Carmel (5,206) to Portage (2,040); 5A, Tech (2,015) to Fort Wayne Wayne (1,366); 4A, Kokomo (1,359) to Bishop Chatard (794); 3A, Washington (792) to Adams Central (414); 2A, Lakeland (503) to Eastern Greene (352); A, Churubusco (351) to Attica (167) Quote
oldtimeqb Posted March 4 Posted March 4 What jumps out to me: Chatard is juuuust big enough to remain in 4A. Quote

I also assume it’s to ensure 6A doesn’t go to 31 teams in the event Decatur Central doesn’t get the points needed this fall to remain in 6A in 2027. Quote

BDGiant93 Posted March 5 Posted March 5 (edited) Someone gets a 5th team in one of the Sectionals in 6A. Do they do it up north or down south? It's a bit messy. I could see them sending Zionsville south with Pike, BD, Brownsburg and Avon then sliding Harrison into Sectional 4. Gets really interesting between Sectionals 2 & 3. Which FW team goes to 2 as Homestead, Carroll and Northrop could all be candidates since they won't split HSE & Fishers. I will admit I am most interested in 2A, so didn't put as much thought into the other 5 classes but I tried my best, enjoy. https://www.google.com/maps/d/edit?mid=1NciF91zy63EMbqP18JsTnlvm4LFnG3o&usp=sharing Taylor and Churubusco should be taken out of 2A map and be pinned in 1A map. West Vigo and Cascade should be taken out of 3A map and be pinned in 2A map. But thanks for making. I enjoy looking at these... Quote

One thing is still jarring for me personally, I am now in year 23 at Rensselaer, we've been as high as the 540s in my time, now, we are only 62 students away from the 1a top...... I looked this week: K-5th grade, we have only 600 total bodies. 8 minutes ago, First_Backer_Inside said: Somebody help me out. I've heard Illiana Christian is playing football this year correct? They are in the list, this maybe their "JV" year, then in 2027 would be in the tournament series, however, not sure if IHSAA makes schools transition in that way or not. I can do some digging to my Northern Region 1 pals. see what I come up with Quote
