During the time away I have realized New Albany is in fact....that bad. Damn.

Traditionally NA will make it to the SS every 10-12 years but there’s some BAD football in between. I remember going down there early in my career when Kazmerick was there, they were in rebuilding mode every season.

I watched the NA Brownstown game on Glicod after I got home Friday night. Brownstown is so good, but in no world should a 5A school get running clocked by halftime by a 2A.

Also got smacked by 2 1A schools. (Lutheran enrollment wise). Losing...fine...I get it. But I never thought Providence would put up 49 and beat them they way they did. I know nothing of big boy football just surprised me to say the least.

Our pick ‘em got interrupted by GID being down for 2 and a half weeks. Curious to know if people think we should start fresh with week 4 since not everyone had time to get their picks in during week 1 or if we should just crown a winner based on percentage this year. Any input would be appreciated.

Just start from this week? Makes sense to me.

That's a bit of a drive.  I hope the Red Devils at least get treated to some pretty good BPT's from Ray's Drive-In in Kokomo.

Yall missed this board so bad you even missed me. 😆. JK.

Hope all is well. I've been enjoying the season so far. My biggest suprise is BNL. They look good. QB is dangerous. Looking forward to the game down here.

I have a question for Impartial Observer. We had a crazy thing happen Friday. The Marching band had some technical audio difficulties. They started about 5 minutes late. So they obviously played 5 minutes over. Silver Creek and Floyd's kids waited and then eventually Floyd's kids took the field while they were still playing. They got a 15 yard delay of game penalty. I was told coach Bragg could've been ejected if the players didn't take the field? What is the actual rule on this? How should that be handled?

I think NA has only won "1" regional? Is that right? FC has never won one.

I’m just shocked the game is still being played at 7 PM on a Friday night.

We’re only three weeks in but it seems like the tiers in the HHC have already taken shape.

Tier 1 - Floyd Central and New Albany

Tier 2 - Jeffersonville and Columbus East

Tier 3 - Seymour

Tier 4 - New Albany and Jennings County

I wonder if Jennings County and New Albany regret dropping each other now. Both will likely end up winless in the HHC.

I assume you mean BNL in tier 1.

I don't how it's gonna shake out. Floyd Central has blowout wins over 2 bad teams. We lost at Whiteland but played very well from the 2nd qtr on. You can't fumble 3 times in the first qtr inside your own 30 and beat good teams on the road. FC fumbled on the first play of the game. Then fumbled the kick return. Then fumbled the first punt return they had.

Thanks for clearing up what was clearly a generalization.
They’ll have a decent team every 10-12 years.

Week 4 Picks

Columbus East (1-2, 1-0 HHC) at Jennings County (1-2, 0-0 HHC): The Panthers are coming off their first win in two seasons while the Olympians secured their first win of the season last week as well. Even with the atrocious display of defense during the win, East should have a much easier time this week. The Olympians have won 28 straight in the series and that streak will continue. East wins big in what could likely be their final meeting in North Vernon. East leads the all-time series 47-7.

New Albany (0-3, 0-0 HHC) at BNL (2-1, 1-0 HHC): The two most surprising teams in the HHC this season go at it. The Stars shocked many out of the gate with their week 1 manhandling of Martinsville. It appears they’re a massive threat through the air. On the flip side, the Bulldogs have been stunningly awful. A 49-14 loss to Providence was followed up by two shutout losses. Dropping Jennings County from their schedule may come back to bite them as this team appears to have a real shot of going winless for the first time ever. BNL comes away with an easy win here. They lead the all-time series 25-22.

Seymour (0-3, 0-2 HHC) at 5A #10 Floyd Central (2-1, 0-0 HHC): The Highlanders actually cracked the top 10 in the AP poll last week (one of the now three polls) and they remain at the #10 spot this week. This team has shown they can score a lot of points (they average 44.3 per game). Even in their loss to Whiteland they put up 28. Meanwhile, the Owls have an obsolete defense as a struggling East offense put up 49 on them last week. Floyd Central isn’t the team you want to see when you’re giving up 35.7 points a game. The Highlanders win easily to make it three straight against Seymour. The Owls lead the all-time series 15-14.

Jeffersonville (1-2) at Kokomo (0-3): Surprisingly, this isn’t the first time these teams have played. The Wildkats came away with a 28-13 win back in 1984 in the only other time they’ve played each other. As much as I’d like to pick the Red Devils here, Kokomo’s 0-3 record looks better than Jeff’s 1-2 record based on strength of schedule. This could be the closest game of the night of the four but I’m making The Beach Boys proud by taking Kokomo here.

the standing start after this week??

Yeah people only had like two days to give their picks in week 1 before the site went down. We’re starting fresh with week 4.

I keep thinking about this HHC race. As you guys know, I want my Highlanders to win that crown. Im also a guy who likes Southern Indiana football. I have watched some of BNLs games on Youtube. That's a really solid team. They can really pass the ball and they do it quickly. Dayson Kirby leads the state in passing with 1200+ yards. I'm not joking. In 3 games! They have 3 WRs. Gilbert, Goodman, and Kern who are all in the top 40 of WRs in the state. Their OL does a good job protecting him. I'm not discounting East, because they've played a lot harder schedule than BNL or Floyd has so far, but I definitely think that Floyd vs BNL could be a big time game. Jack Mull himself is 19th in the state in passing with 720 yds and that's coming off of a broken wrist this May and he couldn't throw much this summer. I think they're fairly deep at WR but he goes to Jaxon Stone a lot who has 16 catches for 387 yds which is 7th in the state. Sebastian Robertson is 37th in rushing, averaging over 100 yds a game. Also, Donovan Taylor is tied for 2nd in the state with 3 Ints. And their K Owen Gerlach is 2nd in K scoring. I cannot wait for this game next month. Gonna be awesome. I don't know much about Easts team other than they brought a lot back and are probably still capable of winning the conference crown.
