Everyone loves when we play each other, always a great game

I sure as heck don't want to schedule Cathedral. There is nothing to gain for either school. Cathedral is in a league with CG and few others when it comes to quality and quantity of athletes. We are close to 2A enrollment and already razor thin depth-wise trying to compete in 4A. Last season is a prime example. Barely escape a very good East Central in Regional and then nip and tuck with MV Fortville in Semi-State until our SIAC POY RB goes down mid-3rd Q with a separated shoulder and that, as they say, was all she wrote... Memorial and GS needs to happen.

Nobody wants memorial vs cathedral lol what we really want is Memorial Vs Gibson Southern lol. Especially on this forum where 2 of the largest fan groups on here are EM and GS

Punishing players for mistakes is a huge part of coaching but not all. Occasionally you would need to try to correct the behavior. So I am not sure 3 series would be the proper punishment. I would go straight to permanent benching for bad tackling form until the player can do it right. Daily ‘Bull in the Ring’ sessions and 1v1 live tackling drills should do it. Once the player proves he’s tough enough, then about 15-20 rounds of Oklahoma drill and he should be ready to go.

That is true, as far as it goes. But keep in mind that all power ultimately flows from the people. And the legitimacy of the Court flows from the belief by the people that the Court is an unbiased interpreter of the law. To the extent the people view the Court - and thus, it’s rulings — as being fair and unbiased, they have legitimacy. It is easier to believe objectivity and lack of bias when the Court is constructed so that diverse viewpoints are brought to bear on the issues. Diversity in race, culture, political viewpoints, background, etc., on the Court is a valuable thing, and a perfectly appropriate factor to take into account when choosing a Justice.

My understanding is Poles and Eberflus are both repped by Trace Armstrong and they have a strong relationship that spans 3 to 4 years and have talked about working together. I don't really get why you would want Harbaugh. And why would Ryan Day be a given to succeed in the NFL? Countless highly successful college coaches have proven the NFL is a different beast when you can't outrecruit 98% of your competition.

I don't disagree that having at least one travel game is a good thing. I can't argue that point.

I would add matching up the smaller players with the bigger ones for all drills....how else will the smaller players get any better?

My guess is the open date, if it happens to work out, will be mostly made up of PAC vs SIAC schools. Again.....iron likes to sharpen IRON here in SW Indiana. These games will be excellent revenue producers without the fuel costs.

Very few HC want or need to travel to Indy for exposure. If a kid wants exposure they have to attend camps. Preferably at universities they feel is a level they can play Very few college coaches attend high school games. They rely on their own camps, exposure camps, and film. The kids mentioned on here are attending schools that are a good fit for their talent level.

I actually review real studies Muda...not just accept the opinion of one individual. But I do understand it easy to accept one opinion only as gospel, if that opinion just happens to align with one's own thoughts. But other than a single opinion, present some real facts if you want to get people's attention. I think most of this forum are every bit as qualified as you to assess risk and make the right decisions for our family. But again, you do you. Lead your family as you see fit...others I am sure will do the same.

Blitz thinks there is a lazy belief (of which this bear falls into sometimes) that a team from an equal or larger class automatically helps a team prepare for the playoffs. It's easy to say "Oh 6A Team A is gonna help get ready for the postseason." It's deeper than that in a lot of instances. Maybe a particular scheme needs to be seen to prep for the same challenge in the sectional. Perhaps your offensive line needs to see more in the way of physicality. Perhaps your kids play soft and need a punch in the gut so to speak from a program that is tough. A lot of times higher class = bigger challenge. But that's not 100%

From a friend: (Tell me he's wrong if you can) PBS news last night: "Scotus needs a black woman appointed because black people and women are 'underrepresented' on the court.” The statement is a lie. 1) The court is not a “representative" body. Congress is the representative body. The court is intended to be a meritocracy where “representative make-up” is immaterial. To think the members of the court must be representative is illogical, zero sum thinking, assuming the impossibility of human “color blindness”. Tell that to the “white" congress that passed the civil rights acts of 1965. 2) Congress is to be a representative body where elected “representatives” of various minorities have a voice, and sometimes a veto: filibuster. 3) The first SCOTUS limitation is that all appointees must be lawyers. 25% of all lawyers are female. 5% are black and 5% are hispanic. 4)One justice represents 11% of the court. Therefore, women (33%), black (11%) and Hispanic (11%) justices are overrepresented on the court compared to peers in the legal profession, not underrepresented. 5) Population is immaterial, but what about it? Is the court a “cross section” of the population or a cesspool of underrepresentation? Hispanics are about 18% of the US population and 11% of the court. Blacks are about 13% of the population and 11% of the court. Women are about 50.5% of the population and 33% of the court.. Since the court has 1 black, 3 females and one for sure Hispanic, and since one must have a whole justice and not a fractional justice: Blacks are “represented", Hispanics are less but still “represented" and women, seemingly “underrepresented". There are lots of reasons why the numbers do not support the underrepresentation of women claim. Apart from childbirth, the single most significant factor is that the percentage of women who choose to seek law as a career, although growing, is relatively much smaller that the number of men.
