I've watched a lot of football in my long life, but I don't ever remember a defensive lineman called for holding on a running play!😏 Nice win for the Colts, and a guttsy call to go to the endzone instead of a field goal try. Good throw for Ryan too.

Yeah merrillville should be able to blank all 3 teams in there sectional while scoring 50+… regionals is intresting because as a fan I want Valpo because if we play Valpo it will be @ Valpo and that means if we win we get handed semistate at home. But if we play anyone else in the regionals then merrillville host regionals and will be on road for semistate. But I think the team wants to play Chesterton or Michigan city

Meanwhile, Michael Penix broke UW record with a 516 yd passing game and 4 TD’s in victory over Arizona….. I don’t think so with a $30 million buyout….

Reitz should be one spot above or below GS. I also think a full strength Memorial isn’t far off from those two.

Agree with this. The real story in this game was the Reitz defense. There were definitely a few questionable penalties/missed calls that kept it close, but once again, in this matchup the records and talent-on-paper can be thrown out. The Reitz passing game is still struggling a bit but we can only guess that maybe Davies is still not at full strength or just rusty. Vera is quite a game-changer though. I do think good teams will be able to adjust to the Vera-led offense like Mater Dei did in the 2nd half, which is why Reitz is probably hoping Davies and the pass game can get going in full stride again. The Reitz defense continues to impress though, which bodes well for a postseason run. Mater Dei is playing much better football now than they were early on. Linton and Triton Central stand in their way but Mater Dei is capable of making a repeat trip.

I take that one of two ways: 1. This is a program that doesn't know what they are doing, or 2. You don't know what you're talking about. Considering this seems to be, overall, an otherwise solid program, I'll take "You don't know what you're talking about" for $500, Alex.

If you want my honest opinion, Northwood is the only team I know that has been playing good ball in the North Bracket. But after looking at CC, oh boy I hope they meet up

4A South is a mess of really good teams, North is all Northwood

Not saying anything because I was asked to not say anything on what transpired last night. Resting all starters no, resting some starters yes. ahiukd we of still won the game yes. did the team play terrible absolutely. I think we had 6 turnovers most of them in our own end. But to each there own. Chesterton forced 2 of them the rest were unforced. Good win for Chesterton: but we also frkm what I understand haven’t looked at our opponents film in weeks. We have been looking 4-5 weeks down road. So take that as you will. And yes I was honest we should of won and team played horrible. But I’m no way does that change my mind about the semistate game merrillville will be there And I was working lol 😂

What you fail to point out is that EVERY sport in Indiana qualifies for the playoffs, volleyball, basketball, football, softball, cross country, tennis, etc… Yet, you want football to be different because that is what you want… Makes perfect sense…😂

CG’s JV guys were getting ready to warm up before that goal line stand by Cathedral. Went from possibly being 36-13 to the wheels falling off! Credit to Cathedral’s kids for never quitting! Great win for them and a demoralizing loss for CG!!

Possibly. I’m very intrigued by the idea of North winning this Sectional. I think it would give them a huge confidence boost and they would go on to win the North. If I’m North’s OC if I’m finding every way possible to get the ball in Johnson’s hands on a high percentage plays. He is the type of talent that can take over a playoff game.

Funny story.....as an assistant at Cathedral, we practiced special teams every day. Defensive staff ran the defensive teams, KO, Punt return, FG Block. Every week, we practiced the popup with a guy running under it to catch it, making sure it went 10 yards. Late in the season, we get a chance to try it. Not a player on R any where near the ball, our guy runs under and makes an easy catch. The flag IMMEDIATELY goes up. It was at that point we learned what Kick Catch Interference was. Just a few years ago in a JV game game, we are up late in the game at home. Outr opponent tries the exact same thing and sure enough, the kid catches it. I calmly look at the white hat, who was also a TV news anchor here in Fort Wayne, and I sad that is kick catch interference Rod. he gets pissy with me, but I am almost jokingly telling him. I finally said I will bet you a case of beer that it is illegal. he told me to shut up lol. I am chatting up the line judge on our sideline who eventually says, you know coach, I think you are right. I say back, Oh I know I am. I never did follow up with Rod on that one. That was his last season as an official as he moved to Cincy that year. I am willing to bet he remembers that as well as I do. lol

Also, Indiana becomes first CFB program to lose 700 games in its history….😖
