  2. Yeah, I agree. While I'm a little surprised, it's surprised is a good way overall. With the exception of the IN-KY border bowl series, I know we've always had trouble finding a Wk 2 opponent sicne the series with Lincoln ended. Only drawback is it eliminates any chance of any Indy-Evansville challenge weekend, which is something I've always thought Memorial, Mater Dei, Reitz and Castle should try to get together and do. Welcome to the SIAC Jasper and Lincoln!!

  3. Leave the PAC like it is. These small schools dont wan’t a 4a school in there conference especially in football. Didn’t GS drop Boonville a few years ago so they could schedule better competition. Boonville needs to step up and play the big boys in football, they are most likley playing them in all the other sports.

  4. Honestly, thinking about that schedule puts a little puke in my mouth.

  5. Can’t argue with that logic. If any VL sports program has question marks right now though, it’s the basketball program surprisingly. The pep band will remain strong though! Especially for conference games!

  6. Based on recent history in football, I get why some might prefer GS over VL. But I really think the best has yet to come for Lincoln under Levi Salters. He’s just getting started. Lots of good football classes coming up the ranks.

  8. But I thought Lafayette Central Catholic's "weight room" used to be located in a shed behind the school. And their gridiron success, along with myriad other sports, can't be questioned. Just think of how much classroom learning space could be built within the confines of that Center Grove weight room. How many millions did that extravagance cost Indiana taxpayers?

  9. I'm not sure what happened to editing, but anyway... Adding Lincoln gives more opportunities for Bobe's Pizza. Plus, Lincoln's basketball pep band jams.

  10. As a Reitzfan I would have much rather had GS in the conferance than Lincoln. GS is a much tougher team. Why did Boonville get cold feet. Do they not want to play a tougher schedule.

  13. I wonder if it will be a 9 game schedule for football? Heritage Hills and Southridge would end up being big losers in that case. I'm sure that was a nice gate every other year. Scheduling would be easier for the current SIAC schools. No more Terre Haute, Kentucky, Indy, or New Albany area road trips. Memorial can just dust off its schedule from the late 90's when they had Jasper week 1 and Lincoln week 2.

  14. I think those two schools were on SIAC radar from day 1. Two great additions to the conference. Schedule is going to be a grind in several sports.

Starting to turn on each other - only a matter of time before they begin to eat each other....... https://www.westernjournal.com/hermancain/blue-blue-loretta-lynch-says-comey-lying-never-told-call-hillary-e-mail-probe-matter/?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=conservativetribune&utm_content=2019-05-21&utm_campaign=manualpost&fbclid=IwAR1mWg2S75iXacOPYHBfKG3t_Il-tZ7jg8xgn8yo-bUjHkH3JH5hg6KdOjQ Comey continued: “The Clinton campaign, at the time, was using all kind of euphemisms — security review, matters, things like that, for what was going on. We were getting to a place where the attorney general and I were both going to have to testify and talk publicly about. And I wanted to know, was she going to authorize us to confirm we had an investigation? … And she said, ‘Yes, but don’t call it that, call it a matter.’ And I said, ‘Why would I do that?’ And she said, ‘Just call it a matter.’” . . . “I did not,” Lynch responded when asked if she had “ever” told Comey to call the investigation a “matter.” https://www.foxnews.com/politics/loretta-lynch-james-comey-contradition-clinton-probe-matter-investigation

  16. @DanteEstoniayou can downstroke me all you want, the bottom line the MSC is NOT adding an 11th school/10th Football playing school. Why in hell would SC leave a conference where they are one of the largest schools for a conference where they would be one of the smallest ones? Can they compete in some sports, yes, in Football they've yet to win a MSC title, they would most likely be a perennial cellar dweller just like Madison in the HHC. And before anyone starts, yes, I'm aware that JC finished second in Football 2-3 year ago. But it was an anomaly. Madison has looked at other conferences, geographically where do they fit? Travel and competition wise, the EIAC is about a wash with the HHC. They have at times played Greensburg, Batesville, SD, and Lawrenceburg and the results are pretty much the same, with possibly a slightly better winning percentage. The only other option is to join the conference with Southwestern, Switz, South Ripley, etc., and that doesn't really help there cause as there is only one football school in the group, I would guess they'd have similar issues with swimming, wrestling, etc. Silver Creek, Borden, and Henryville are not going to consolidate any time soon. So your point about West Clark Schools being larger than Seymour is moot. The bottom line is this horse has been beat to death, time and time again. Let's bury it and call it a day. You now live in Nevada, why don't you focus on saving Nevada football? Lastly this is not a slam on any schools mentioned. These are the facts as they pertain to the tired subject of conference alignments by supreme leader of the conference alignment/scheduling Nazis.

  17. Some changes at Pioneer beyond the '19 senior class... Previous Varsity Assistant Coach Dave Gregorich (2007 Pioneer graduate) has resigned and is now with Coach Johnson at Logansport. Dave organized some great defenses, getting to the State Championship 4 of his 5 years as the DC. Dave also coached the OL. With that exit, Coach Berry has promoted Varsity Assistant Coach Matt Vianco to DC. Coach V played (RB/DB) played with/graduated with Coach Berry from Pioneer in 2006. Coach V has been on staff coaching the RBs/DBs the past 2 years, as well as being the JV offensive play caller. Additionally, Coach Berry has promoted Junior High Coach Josh Lytle to Varsity Assistant Coach. Josh played for Pioneer 2009-2012, recently graduated from Purdue, and just completed his 2nd season coaching Junior High. He will coach the OL, while Varsity Assistant Coach Matt Gates, also a 2006 Pioneer graduate, coaches the DL. Josh was an Indiana North All-Star (OL), as was Coach Gates (DE). The status of 20 year veteran Pioneer coach Steve Berkshire (LBs) is unknown at this time. But he's like that stray dog you kick to the curb, he just won't go away for good and keeps showing back up and bringing a smile to your face when you need it. Besides that, someone has to keep Coach Berry's head in check by reminding him daily that he lost a game once upon a time (as if 44-1 and 2 titles isn't enough). I really don't know how many high school staffs across the state can stake claim to having 100% of their staff be former players and alumni. It's definitely special to have such a close knit group, and the passion they put into it for their alma mater is second to none. As for me, time to take a break and be a fan. It's been a fun ride. 13 years of youth league, 3 years of junior high, 4 years Varsity Assistant... and every one of those 20 years fully tied into and committed to our Head Coach's program. That's the secret, that's what it takes to develop players in a system, people who buy in. It's a top down and bottom up mentality. ALL IN. And if people think Pioneer is rebuilding and will start to drop off, don't expect them to drop too far as long as the above coaches are on the prowl!

  18. https://www.indystar.com/story/news/2019/05/22/lunch-shaming-indiana-cold-sandwich-greenwood/3765217002/ A sensible and reasonable policy by the Greenwood government schools. Yet a child's "feelings" and the parent/guardian's desire to get something for free trump personal responsibility. Sorry, the government school administrators should have stood behind their policy.

  19. I'd use the word "reduction" instead of "restriction": 1. Personal interaction with and support of women who may be contemplating an abortion to see if they may have interest in some alternative course of action that is viable for them. 2. Prayer.

  20. I have a solution. Swap Madison with Silver Creek. Let Silver Creek compete in HHC Athletics. Madison would benefit greatly from playing in the MSC.
