I’ve seen Merrillville twice this year. They have major size, speed and athleticism. You’re probably not going to out-athlete them. Their vulnerability was shown by Chatard: play a disciplined, mistake-free, ball control game, and force them to make some mistakes. Stay away from the big play and force them to drive the ball.

The Pirates are playing very well right now, what they did to Jeff last week was impressive. I think they take this one.

Elkhart is largely an unknown at this level......  you know..a first year consolidation of Elkhart Central and Elkhart Memorial...

This is obviously a Hollywood movie ala “Remember the Titans” in the making. Rival schools are merged. Fighting at practices (possibly embellished). In fighting amongst coaches (possibly embellished). A blond haired California surfer emerges at QB (definitely embellished). T. C. Williams, aka Elkhart, goes undefeated and ends up in Lucas Oil (definitely embellished)!

The big Jr. DT was recently offered by Nebraska. That’s 4 Certified D1 recruits and 5 mythical. 3 of the 4 transferred from Hammond Morton.

On the Indiana High School Football Fans Facebook page, according to the Merrillville fans, they have 17.  They left most starters home for the Chatard game.

Both teams played a great game! back and forth in the fourth quarter. Good luck to Merrillville in the semi state. Elkhart you should be proud of bringing two rivals together and succeeding despite all that you guys had to over come.
