I am not in the habit of praising Purdue QBs — or Purdue anything, when you come right down to it. But if you are unmoved by the career of Drew Brees, then you don’t truly have a football heart. How many guys can play that long, achieve so much, overcome what he had to get past, and you’ve never heard anyone say a single bad word about them? I hope, for his sake, he does hang it up — he took a fearful beating this season — and gets ready to stroll into Canton on the first ballot in 5 years. The way he has conducted himself both on and off the field should serve as a template for the Deshaun Watsons, Patrick Mahomes, and Lamar Jacksons, who aspire to leave a similar legacy. Not flashy, not controversial. Just a tremendous player, an inspiring leader, and a first class citizen. Well done!

DT and I go way back on this site. I would hope by now that my digs at him are taken by him for what they are worth. He digs back at me too. We've been doing this for...gosh...years. Back when he was Driven T before he was DT. I respect him for the stirring spoon he brings to the board. He knows how to get discussion going. When I agree with him, I say so. When I don't I say so. As far as the Kirschner deal at Warren, it came completely as a surprise to me. I haven't talked to Mike since he left BD at great length. It sounds like from his publicly available statements that his zeal for leading a major program came back at some point while at Mount Vernon and he saw an opportunity to lead his alma mater. It's a no brainer for WC if he wanted the job. Similarly, I'd be shocked if Lawrence Central (or any of the current MIC teams) left the MIC. The original six of the MIC seem committed to continuing it, and Pike and LC joined up within the last 10 years. I just don't see LC leaving for any of the surrounding conferences when the MIC is the MIC. I think it would be foolish for any of the current teams to leave the MIC for another conference. I'll firmly state all of this is my opinion. Reasonably informed, but it's my opinion. I could be completely wrong, but I'd say that the MIC losing LC would be highly unlikely. If I am wrong, I'm very happy to be called out, roasted, served crow straight up with feathers, etc. I always have been since I started on the OLD GID back in the day.

I think the truthh is somewhere in the middle. Earlier in their marriage I would say the defenses Belicheck built really carried New England. A lot of QB's could have won a Title with those defenses. Later in the tenure I think it's definately fair to say Brady carried New England. Looking forward to that game the most. The Packers are looking like Super Bowl Champs, but Tampa Bay has some serious hitters on D and the Brady factor. Personally, I hope the Pack win out. Hopefully, GB winning another Title lights a fire under the seats of the idiots running Halas Hall. They may not know much about running a football team, but it's well reported they do not like seeing GB win.

Myself and @Irishman have deleted I think 4 maybe now 5 threads started by @TheStatGuy We warned him to stop as we feel like it is not necesarry to find out any personal well being of any member, whether in good faith or in bad faith. @TheStatGuy seems to be not understanding that our choice in the matter has nothing to do with politics, but has everything to do with not being a someone who demands to know how someone is outside of these message boards. Some folks choose to make their identitiy known, others do not, some folks discuss where they work, and other personal stuff in their lives, hobbies, intrestes, etc. By a Simple search of HOWE, you can see his profile and he was last on here on Dec 2nd I believe. Not sure why a full thread on any person in this communiity is needed, let alone 5 of them asking the same thing, and to the point where @Irishman put him in the timeout corner. I would assume that is why I got a random Tweet with me being tagged in it...... and then a series of 7 tweets clearly showing disgust for me as a teacher/coach and bragging how he "threatened" to call my employer... don't worry I saved those receipts too. Quite a few games for the weekend... Friday night... Linton faced off against the Bloomfield Cardinals for the 2nd time in less than a week. Usually that can be a recipe for an upset. Instead... it was sort of the same type of game. Bloomfield plays hard, but doesn't have the size/muscle to match up with the Miners. It was also a physical game, which didn't bode well for the Cardinals. A couple questionable calls had some Cardinal faithful questioning every call as the game went on. The 2 worst were right in front of the Cardinal bench, so it sort of set the tone. Overall, I thought the officiating was fair, but played into the strength of the Miners. I'm not sure a differently called game would have helped. Then we would have had both sides shooting a lot of free throws with the amount of hand checking going on. Bloomfield still struggled to guard Drew Smith. He doesn't force things... quick and strong enough to give smaller players fits ... explosive enough to blow past bigger guys. Lincoln Hale also let the game come to him, which allowed Webb and Hart to get going offensively. Bloomfield had some bright spots. Royal stepped up as a scorer Friday night. Considering the Miners ran essentially a 2-3 in both games (with focus on Graf)... Royal making shots was important to keeping the game close. With no seniors and Combs a year away from being a big time big man (assuming he lives in a weight room)... Bloomfield seems like a year away from being a team that can make a deep run. As for the Miners, they seem to be playing better team basketball. Hopefully, they are hitting their stride. Eastern Greene over Clay City... This score seems to be about right. The T-Birds are better than the lower half of the conference... I'll be interested to see how they stack up against Bloomfield round 2 and Linton later in the month. North Daviess handled Shakamak by 14. Saturday night... Barr-Reeve 39 North Daviess 38... What a weekend for the Vikings. They narrowly defeated Loogootee the night before.. then almost lose to the Cougars. Sectional 63 will be brutal. Whoever comes out of that sectional will be a tough out. Bloomfield defeated South Knox... I've not seen much of the Spartans, but they have played some good teams close. Either way... good win for Bloomfield. It had to feel good beating a red, blue, and white jersey 😉 The rest of the scores didn't say much... WRV lost to Evansville Day; North Central defeated Rivet; Shakamak defeated Lighthouse Christian; Clay City lost to Owen Valley. Nothing out of the ordinary here. WRV looks to have a few winnable games coming up... Washington Catholic and Lighthouse Christian should be winnable. Rivet and Clay City are possibilities as well. North Central is continuing to put itself with Eastern just beneath the big 3 of the conference. Shakamak handles bad teams well... and Clay City was beat by a solid Owen Valley team.

Caitlyn is an awesome girl, I never thought I'd be typing that on a football message board. I had the pleasure of having her back in elementary school and again as a student in drivers ed. She's one of my all time favorites, just a nice down to Earth girl. Maybe she can bring glory back to the Crown Point or Lake Central football teams haha (I kid of course)

New Haven......our actual ADM number was just over 900 students though, but the other percentages are the same. What are the socioeconomic differences between the New Haven government school geographic boundaries and the East Noble government school geographic boundaries? That could be part of the puzzle.

As he said, it' a little off, but you can zoom in and zoom out pinching/expanding your fingers to move about the site.

I don't know if this works in all browsers on all phone or all O/S platforms, but: Go to the GID website on your mobile device Look in the upper right-hand side of the browser next to the URL/website address ... you will see three vertical dots or whatever your browser uses for settings/options Click on the three vertical dots ... down the list, there should be an option that says "Desktop site" and it has a box to the right. Click on that and the box should now have a check or x or be filled in You should then be able to see GID as it would appear on your computer. It's not perfect and it's still pretty clunky, but I think at that point, it should give you the ability to get to the notifications bell and envelope that takes you to the inbox. I think it also gives access to the sub-menus where you can get to things like Clubs, etc. Disclaimer: On my phone, I'm running Android, Chrome, and it's a Nokia.

None of what I said is BS, you just didn't like it. I've defended my arguments, you just keep bringing up credentials and tossing insults and excuses. Back them up with facts, like the statistical facts I have provided for why your program is a middle of the pack average football program with so much potential.

This is about as productive as talking to a brick wall. "East Noble sees every week of film from us because they follow us most of the season. They also have a week off for Fall break. They are a bigger program; especially up front, and in many cases by about 50 lbs a person." This is an excuse by the way.

You said you have great coaches that work with the kids and get to know the kids. I never said you didn't have that, I never said anything bad any New Haven coach as a matter of fact. I said you need a great coach to get the kids to buy in which you do, a below average program needs all of those things unless you are happy going .500 or barely over. The truth hurts, I wouldn't expect you of all people to agree with me, but I have watched New Haven play at least once a year for the past 20 years and nothing has changed. You have had some excellent teams that fall short in the playoffs just like any other program, I simply stated it should be the norm to compete in the conference and the post season, not struggle to make any noise in both. If you really think nothing I stated is fact I suggest you take a look below and try to argue these facts. I said you need a great coach not that you have never had one. Fact. One conference title since 1994. 4-17 against East Noble since 2000 - 1-5 since the NE8 Again struggle to compete in the conference. New Haven cannot c Again I understand why you are defending the program, but please don't sit here and try to belittle me because you disagree with me. You want to argue credentials on what makes my opinion valid just because I'm not the athletic director, or apart of your program? If that is the case just shut the website down because people on here talk every day about programs they aren't directly involved in and things they see as fans of the game. I can say your program struggles to compete without being a part of it because they do. Past seasons show all of that is true.

DT; I think you know what I do (or did before 2020 hit me) so you know how I have these photos and you can believe me when I tell you, Caitlyn has 2 distinctions for me. 1.) I believe she is the only girl to ever start on two different regional championship teams (basketball and softball) at Crown Point in the same calendar year. And 2.) while I do not know her (the sad part of following the kids is that there's no time to ever know them), Caitlyn, as I'm sure you already know, is (or was) as well-spoken a teenager as I have ever run across. She didnt know me from a stray dog but she would answer all my stupid questions fully and in complete thought. These are hard times and I hope her and her dad are doing well. I really do.

I knew there was something I liked about DT!

Maybe you see something from a distance, but if you are not a part of the program on a day in and day out basis, you cannot much such claims...This has to be the worst assessment of a program I have seen on here in a long time. I am not saying it because I am a part of it. I am saying it from the perspective that I have been a part of more than successful program, this one included. Are there games we should have won? Yes.....every program has those. It still does not make your assessment any closer to being accurate. I am not going to get into any details about the program, but I know this.....the program has had great coaches in place. We have had great coaches for a long time. The coaches know the game; are willing to learn, care about and build relationships with the kids; all things that are needed in successful programs.

Brees and I both started at Purdue in the Fall of '97. He was actually in the very first class I had. I recognized him because I followed recruiting and knew he was the QB from Texas. Crazy to think he went from being the skinny unknown kid in class that day to where he is now.

That's your opinion and I have mine. New Haven is consistently one of the most undisciplined teams in the NE8. New Haven has everything they need to succeed in a below average conference yet struggles to finish near the top every year. I'd appreciate if you actually had an argument for what I said being "the worst assessment of a program I have seen in a long time" because everything I stated is a fact, so sorry if it hurt your feelings.
