I just hope Linton can come out of the gates strong... make some offensive gains... get something to go their way early for a change. Naturally... I think the MD passing attack will be our major task in handling. Not to discount the running game because clearly Pierre and others can certainly bust it. But seeing 4 and 5 wide with a QB who can place the ball where it needs to be.... well that got us last year.... and the before... and before.. We just don't see that kind of team ability week in and out where every player out there can make the athletic play. One mistake.. and boom 7-0. I do think the sour weather come help Linton... we are used to slugging things out in mud pits.. but.. Mater Dei came to Linton in 2018 which was a mudpit.. and went away with a big W. They are just a very good solid football team that plays very a very tough schedule mostly week in and out. They got talent that goes one way, they are coached very well and don't fall for the things that result in big plays for Linton year long. It's a 4 quarter battle tho... gotta stay in the game. Give yourself a chance. I'll have more of my standard Miner Pride look tomorrow.. spent most of today getting it all together! I have loved this group of Miners in 2021... this group of seniors. Just a great group and I hope they can put it all together on Friday... as for all the discussion about this n that. It's worthless at this point. Mater Dei is who they are. Linton is who we are. We can't get to the next level without getting past the Wildcats. The whole high school situation has changed to much since my days LOL. Yeah there are kids who come to Linton because their school doesn't have a viable football program.. some have played youth league all the way up to when they can't. I know Evansville is a bigger market no question, and I know MD can certainly attract a good athlete there way... but no more than any other Evansville school can. I have been through the argument a million times with the like LCC 09er that just wore me down LOL... it's just useless to point fingers and make enemies. You play the games because you never know what can happen on any night.. I don't doubt at all that Linton will not have seen a defense of Mater Dei's ability... nor an offense with a QB as good as Wunderlich... or an OL or DL or anything honestly. We have seen good players, and played some very good teams.. .but... MD seems a step above that. MD has most definitely faced very good teams... no point listing them. So...they are not gonna be blinded by Linton speed or knocked out by Linton's physical presence.. not the big game hype what I hope will fill the Roy to the fences. They've been in big city games in Evansville... Jasper... etc... I think Linton has a chance... I think it can be done, but it can't happen with turnovers of any kind... can't happen with dropped passes or stupid penalties. Can't happen giving the ball to Mater Dei at midfield, can't happen if we can't get the PATs because MD won't miss those. and.. yeah... it'd be nice to catch a break a couple times LOL.. who wouldn't... A Wunderlich pass that flutters out of his hand wobbly that Linton can pick six on early.... yeah.. how bout that?!?!

Looks like steady rain most of the day tomorrow & Friday so field conditions will likely be less than ideal at the start of the game and deteriorate from there. Could be a mud bowl game before night’s end. No idea how well LS field drains or what condition grass is at this pt in season but likely not at its best after 10 wks of practice & games My admittedly biased prediction is MD finds a way to slow down LS offense just enough and pulls away in 2nd half for a 21- 14 victory. This is not intended to disrespect LS in any way… I am an admitted homer for MD and thus my prediction is slanted towards the desired outcome. This game could certainly go Linton’s way for all the same reasons. Now, I am going to step off this crazy train until after the game. I need to get back to the boardroom, we are discussing next year’s sponsorships. We only have $500k in the budget so we have to very discerning in who we select. If this doesn’t work, we may have to go with our back up plan. MD scientists are presently hard at work on a time portal we can use to send influential Mater Dei Alums back to when the top local football talent is born and influence them to come to MD. Not sure about undersized, but they definitely gave Jasper plenty to handle all night. I would pick GOTW as East Central/Mooresville. Given the last 2 meetings I think EC gets it done this time. A little bit of weather is forecast and as they always say - defense and run game travels. Regardless of who wins, I think it should be a great game.

I agree completely @scarab527. Having seen all 3 teams play against Warsaw this year, I would be shocked to see either team run that gauntlet. Either would be lucky to beat Michigan City in my opinion. No way either beats Valpo.

Plus is attached to the underdog. So the same spread could be written: WC at LC (+24) it confused me for the longest time years ago too.

My understanding is that he has impingement of the fat pad of his knee. The prognosis for full recovery without any surgery for such injuries is virtually 100%. But, depending on the degree of impingement and the response to treatment, could be up to 8 weeks. Of course, that’s for you or me. He might well be different.

Watched Mooresville a couple of times this year. They have given up a large amount of points against 2 teams (Decatur Central and Plainfield). They did give up 24 (Whiteland) and 21 (Danville) who are solid offensive teams. I wouldn't know for sure but I would imagine with Perry scoring 27 a couple scores came against 2nd string defense. Against Decatur Central they struggled with Jevon Tracy (who is a spectacular athlete) and their RB. Against Plainfield the QB gave them fits running and passing. Offensively Mooresville has weapons and they don't seem to favor just one they spread it around quite a bit between their WR's RB, and QB. East Central and Mooresville only have 1 common opponent and that is Greenwood. East Central beat Greenwood 44-14 and Mooresville beat Greenwood 70-14 (it was 42-0 after 1st qtr and 56-0 at the half). I think will be a very interesting game and likely will come down to which defense gets that one or a couple of stops.

Our 8th grade team was only beaten twice--by GS, by a measly score, and we shouldn't have lost that one, that was a bad deal, and then the other loss was to Washington, their 8th grade is good.

Something I am not used to hearing when it comes to facing Northwood. This is a great sign for Northridge. Well after hearing that Northridge was the more physical team against an always tough Northwood, I really like their chances against CC. Sounds like Coach Eppley is doing an outstanding job especially avenging a 42-8 loss to Northwood earlier in the season.

The concessions are good. Local Eats: (Non-Alcohol) Goosepond Pizza: Thin Crust-Highly recommend; The Grill: Diner; Golden Star Family Rest: Diner; Asian Buffet. (Alcohol):Pizza Villa; The Vault-Get there early, service can be slow; La Fiesta; Monicals Pizza; The Sportsmans Pub-Highly recommend but no one under 21 allowed.

Really, I think 6A North as a whole is a lot more competitive this year than in years past.

That's what I've heard as well. If our youth numbers stay up and they continue to play together thru Jr. High, we're gonna be much more competitive than this year showed. Coach Morris has told me that his goal is to get enough kids out to have a freshman team at Washington, which is something I'm not sure we've ever had. Pipeline looks good; just gotta take some lumps now before some good times roll. My hope is the rest of the fan base understands that and continues to support these boys!

I dont think Eastbrook has seen an offense like Lapel. I am the dad of the QB so I may be a little biased but I think this is going to be a great game. Lapel has only had three bad quarters all season. This has been a great sectional the past two years with Tipton, Lapel, Eastern and Eastbrook. go dawgs!!!!!!

We got back our top CB, albeit with a cast on his arm (still got a pick). But we're still really feeling the injury bug, with multiple key players out for the year including qb1/ safety/LB and arguably rb1/rb1a/LB. Our starting stud LT just got his cast off his arm also. The kid playing qb for us Friday night was Tagg Gott, he's a baller for sure (2 ways). He's our other rb1/rb1a guy converted to qb, which he hasn't played since Freshman year (junior now). He went for 362 total yards, 4 total touchdowns against Northwood. Northwood dealt with a little adversity as well and was missing a key player for an undisclosed reason on Friday. I like our chances against a tough CC team, I believe this is where our conference schedule with Mishawaka, Concord, Warsaw, and Northwood really helps prepare us for the post season. Welp, NO dog in any of these fights.... But it's obvious that Homestead at Carroll is THE game! Enjoy the passing attack of both teams this Friday, because "Bart Ball" will give a distinctively different offensive scheme at the Sectional Final. This Sectional will provide 3 teams that are so equal, in different terms, it's ridiculous. Just flip a coin, and hope! This is a 2021 Sectional that ANY TEAM can win....

Can't you and your staff push for rule changes, assuming they make sense, and until the rule is changed follow it in lieu of justifying non-compliance? CG butt hurt about a JV loss? I highly doubt that. Have expectations for a coaching staff's behaviors? That is a different question. #Integrityisgood

They definitely are not bad with a record of 9-1 and undefeated NLC Champs. They have a solid QB and a number of athletes at the WR position. The Tiger pass defense is nowhere near as good as their rush defense, and I would venture to guess both Carroll and Homestead's passing attacks will be better than that of NorthWood and Concord's.

I really did not want to name the school because it does not matter what school because it was not the kids fault more that how a coaching staff let it happen. also I was in the mood to be a little bit of a smart butt also if this does happen would both games be a forfeit
