Mark Smith, known on here as Old Uncle Mark, passed away yesterday after a 4 year battle with prostate cancer. Those of us from The Region are well aware of the work Mark put in to showcase Indiana HS sports in Northwest Indiana. His Thursday night and Friday post game shows on Channel 56 with Joe Arredondo were must watch TV for me as a youth. RIP Mark.

They actually have their student section there as well. They are at a lower level and the tilt of the bleachers is at a lower angle so they can stand and then not block the view of those sitting in the "upper" section. Genius actually.

Thank you... I tell ya something else. I go super extra effort to learn about who is playing on the other side of the field. My goal every week is to let Miner Fans know anything and everything so they can appreciate those athletes we play against. I swear I know the numbers and names without looking for most every 2 deep by the time game time hits!

I had the distinct pleasure of sitting with Bobref during a St. Eddie/Cathedral game a few years back. Good company!

November 3rd, 2017 was Zionsville's last road game. Their game against Dwenger this Friday will make 13 straight games they play in the friendly confines of their home field. THIRTEEEN straight games! I thought I was hallucinating when I looked this up. Must be nice.

This game will NOT be streamed via EH Sports Network. There was some miscommunication between ourselves and the IHSAA Champions Network in regards to streaming the game. We are an educational station and therefore our license only allows us to cover games for our team. We did not realize this rule, and apologize to any TC or MD fans who were planning to watch the game. WSVX and WREF will both be covering the game and doing an amazing job as they always do. Thank you to both ADs for working with us and to the IHSAA Champions Network for helping figure out the situation.
