At the end of the day, it's fun to see your team ranked high in the USA Today Top 25. That's where we're at with Center Grove. Warren Central, Ben Davis, Carmel, Cathedral, and Snider have been there. Some finished 1st, some 4th and 5th, and others 15th. It's a fun poll, that's all that it is. There is absolutely no way to determine where a team falls in the Top 25 without playing one another. Again, it's a fun poll, and that's it. Maybe Center Grove is 5th, maybe they are 25th, who cares. They are state champs and that is what matters most. Center Grove will go down as one of the better Indiana teams of all time, and that in itself is a major compliment.4 points

I was wondering what could have brought this topic to 3 pages lol. To think I missed an argument involving Center Grove and Brady Allen lol. someone should have tagged me 😂2 points

While you did not bring the word into the discussion (and it was unnecessarily brought in), quoting the person who did use it first and replying "helluva point" is pretty much the same. The fact is the discussion regarding who was deserving of the Mr. Football title should have never been brought in to the conversation. The poster who did, @Footballking16 has a tendency to take things a step too far, and too often. Not sure why personal attacks have to become a part of SO many topics any more, especially ones unrelated to any of the topics they show up in.2 points

If you go here: http://www.ossaa.com/Football.aspx and click on the Class B and Class C links you can see what the Oklahoma 8-man playoffs looked like on scoring. In some cases there are definite shootouts, but in others they look like regular games ... you can click on the other class links to see the results of their 11-man playoffs.2 points

Saw many reports stating that there was much more than just Covid “issues” as to why TAM backed out. Top players opting out/QB transferring/numerous injuries Sounded like Covid was a convenient “excuse” when Matich (who supported TAM backing out) and his co-host on tonight’s college bowl games discussed that topic. Oh well. Good for Rutgers and WF.1 point

Because of COVID issues, Texas A&M was opted out of the Gator Bowl and will be replaced by a 5-7 Rutgers team. I would think Wake Forst might like that.1 point

I’m in favor of 8 man football for schools that will put the effort it deserves into it. If they do the same thing they do with 11 man there is no point IMO. I’ve done a decent amount of research for 8 man when I was HC and it can build the same pride and character in the student athletes that 11 man can. Kansas has a great 8 man following. There are also some colleges really starting to take “sprint football” serious (where every player has to be 185lbs or less) Bellarmine in Louisville KY has been recruiting heavily for it.1 point

There aren't too many majority-Hispanic high schools in Indiana, but of the ones that are, their football teams aren't any more than .500 at best. River Forest is about 40% Hispanic and has boasted winning seasons the last three seasons.1 point

Rock Creek should. The administration doesn’t care about football in the slightest. They talk like they do, but they don’t. They have no real practice field and no home game field, honestly just no real respect for what football is. The kids that finished out last year were amazing kids (just 15 of them). Not many kids coming back next year either and only a few incoming freshman. The school banks on transfers to come in from Jeff, New Albany and the surrounding areas, that’s just not happening with lack of facilities. They are on coach #5 in 8 years. I could go on and on but I can see them not having a program.1 point

Depends on the cereal. Some do, some don't. I find the Great Value brand Raisin Bran and Shredded Wheat on par with the name brands. And it keeps me regular.1 point

and Ryan says to Sanchez...."WRONG f'ing hole jackass" 🤣 I did not really follow Hard Knocks that year, but it was obvious his hardass act was having no impact in that room. Great message, but I am guessin they had heard plenty of those before.1 point

8 is enough for me; and can fit well within the current length of the season/post season. 12 is too many; even 10 is too many as well. Whoever is the 10th ranked team, while having a great season, is certainly not in a position to compete for a National title. Just a hunch, but I am guessing in my lifetime, there has never been a team that finished the season ranked 10th that had any chance at a title.1 point

8…having 4 teams get a bye is still unfair in my opinion. 8 teams…five conference champions, 1 group of 5…two at large. This year it’d look like this in my opinion. Alabama - SEC champ Michigan - Big Ten champ Georgia - at large Cincinnati - group of 5 Notre Dame - at large Baylor - Big 12 champ Utah - Pac 12 champ Pittsburgh - ACC champ1 point

I have one that is an "Aunt"....Times have changed 🤨 But I totally agree with you, and those that are in line with the NATIONAL rankings boards that have CG @ #5 Nationally. Who cares what those think about "what if's and what could have happened"? Who's to say if the player had caught the TD pass, that CG may not have stormed down the field and scored? Besides, I am still dealing with that GOOFBALL who thought he saw a 'change of possession' and clearly upon "replay review"... was absolutely BLIND!. That guy sucked! I am gonna deal with him, next time I run into him. Because I know exactly who he is! 😀1 point

I haven’t noticed too much but I have noticed multiple players being able to step in and get the job done i think for you guys specifically, the scheme requires a more physical QB who is built up a bit….and there are not too many freshman who fit that bill. unless of course Coach Wilk wants to take it back to how 2014 was and running the spread lol those were some fun games.1 point

If you are going the O$U route, why not Urban Meyer? At least he has won 2 games in the NFL and can kick if needed. 😎😂 "I gotta go!" --- @Donnie Baker1 point

Found this when flipping around the dial. High school state champions play one another. Just watched the Washington state champ score a TD with 1 second left to beat the Georgia state champ. They’re playing at Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas, Nevada. Apparently, whatever it is about traveling more than 300 mi. from the state line that afflicts Indiana kids is not shared by kids from Georgia or Washington. … Or Florida and Arizona, who also participated. How great would it have been to see Center Grove in a game like that? Maybe someday Indiana will be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the modern era.1 point

Somebody's cutting onions in here. What a great video congratulations to Brady Allen. Very well-deserved in a tough Mr. Football field.1 point

Let me translate that from Dabo-speak to plain English: “Those other guys are out-recruiting me.” 😥1 point

I stand by my observation that single school counties - like Connersville, Rushville, Franklin Co., as well as Jennings, Pike Central, Benton Central, Jay County - generally struggle to build football success. The geographic size puts them in a class 1 or 2 levels above their "true" football playing level based on the economic realities of a mainly rural county.1 point
