Jaylon Smith was a better player in high school than Bowen, on both sides of the ball.

Ummmm …. no. I think Bowen is a terrific player. But he’s not even the best LB to come out of Indiana in the last 10 years, let alone 50.

A makeup call for blowing it with Devon Mockobee? I’m happy for Clay. Great player and athlete. But it still amazes me that IU was that badly asleep behind the wheel that they wouldn’t even offer Mockobee a PWO…despite Darin Ward being an IU FB alum.

I know Cody personally, I have not talked to him, but the fact that he was bombarded today to the point that he felt compelled to put out a statement is just so disappointing.

Congrats to Drayk Bowen on being recognized as the best HS LB in the country. An honor for himself, Andrean, and the whole state of Indiana.

I agree. 12 games in 13 weeks, culminating with a conference championship for some. I think it would be a 5 week playoff, but the point still holds that USC in that bracket could play 18 games in 19 weeks. Oh. And the players could occasionally go to class and take a final exam sometime during that playoff as well.

College sports have always been minor league system, in year 2022, the choice has been made clear they are being compensated with more than just Room and Board and Degrees. Now, I will wholeheartedly agree the roll out of the ERA of NIL has been very short sighted by the NCAA and they had plenty of years to get ready for this, which SHOULD of been DAY 1 of the Ed O'Bannon lawsuit when filed, but perhaps the hubris of the NCAA probably thought they would not lose that case in court and then here we are, Wild Wild West as they say.

Love watching the Army Navy game every year. The pregame show is always an inspiration. It was one of the craziest games I remember in the series and felt HORRIBLE for the RB from Navy. These young men pour so much of themselves into this game. My goal is to see it in person some day. I agree Bash about Navy dismissing Niumatalolo. He was the face of the program for so long, and is such a class act.

For anyone that didn't see the beginning of the 123rd rivalry game between the Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipman, I attached a link below. The intro video that featured 8 families, game prayer, national anthem by the combined glee clubs, fly overs and the teams running out on the field is something else. No other game in college football is like this one. The parents featured on the CBS video hit me square in the heart every time I watch this because its really close to home. Our son and DIL are both US Army officers...with our son "currently off the grid" completing some very challenging training for combat readiness....their emotions hit me straight in the heart. God bless our brave men and women serving our country, and special prayers to our finest that won't be home with family this holiday season. Go Army....Beat Navy!!

I was very surprised that Coach Ken Niumatalolo was fired as the Navy football coach following the Army Navy game. I thought John Feinstein hit the nail on the head with his editorial in the WAPO. https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/2022/12/12/navy-coach-fired-army-navy/ Coach Ken gave 25 years of his life to Navy...15 of those years as a head coach. He is the all time winningest coach in Navy football history. The last 3 years have been rough, but this team was showing significant improvement at the end of the season and 18-22 starters he and his staff brought to Navy were returning next year. Also, with Cincy, Houston, and Central Florida departures, the AAC conference gets much easier next year. The Navy athletic brass I believe errored putting Navy in that conference in the first place with the odds stacked against them. As any service academy, they cannot recruit the transfer portal, they cannot extend NIL opportunities, not to mention the extremely tough academic and admittance requirements. IU fired their all-time winningest coach in program history (Bill Mallory) in 1996 as they thought they could do better. How's that worked out for them since? The Navy AD overreacted to a tough Army Navy game loss that could have went either way and treated a loyal long-time classy school representative extremely poorly. The same coach (Morman in faith) that rejected the head coach offer from BYU just a few years ago to stay at the Naval Academy.

Ukraine corruption? Only they know is my point. For some reason, Zelinsky, elected in 2019 - is still alive. (IMHO) If Putin really felt he and the other parties (from the US and Russia) involved could get away with it free and clear without repercussions, Kyiv would be levelled, Zelinsky dead and Ukraine back under Russian control by now.......I believe Zelinsky has the goods, Putin and the US knows this and knows it will become widely know if something happens to Zelinsky. Remember Biden's billion dollar Quid-Pro-Quo when he was the Vice President? Yeah, probably nothing, but could be something......

Answer to the first question - Yes, and yes, I was aware of the history of the man's bad conduct discharge. I also fully understood the reasoning behind the former President's decision to turn a cold shoulder to Russia over prisoner exchanges to get the "Merchant of Death" back to the former USSR. They wanted him back bad for some reason. Either way, this guy in an exchange for a former service man AND a WNBA star would have had my vote. An all or nothing negotiation since we (the current US administration) are clearly hoping Russia is able to re-take Ukraine (somehow) so the powers that be (US and Russia) can secure all the evidence Zelinsky has on them (but no one wants to talk about)...... Again, (IMHO) there was a reason Vlad halted further aggression in Ukraine after Trump's election for 4 years having just took over Crimea in 2014 under Obama, waiting until Biden was elected with (somehow) the most votes EVER for an American President......There is also a reason Zelinsky is still alive.....Additionally (IMHO) there is a reason we somehow traded a pretty bad man (that as I said earlier in this thread - we will be reading sometime in the future how this guy had a connection with the deaths of a whole lot of innocent people somewhere) and that Russia has been trying to get back for quite a while for a wrongfully detained (for about 10 months) top women's basketball player who is assuradly going to get the absolute most press coverage for the President. (IMHO) it's much deeper than just a prisoner for a prisoner, it's a mediocre Checkers player competing against a champion Chess player on a multi-level chess board..... You want to talk about wrongfully imprisoned individuals in the US (that we would probably agree on) - start a different thread. There is my righteous indignation BS for you.......

I was just reading that Niumatalolo was fired while still at Lincoln Federal Field in Philly. He didn't even get a chance to return back to Annapolis and discuss the future. He was on the staff for 25 years, 15 as a head coach. No way to treat the all time winningest coach in your program. Shame on the Navy Athletic Administration.

Cathedral has the same boundaries as every other public school in Central Indiana.
