  2. https://nypost.com/2022/12/14/the-curious-timing-of-scammy-sam-bankman-frieds-crypto-bust/ When alleged crypto-fraudster Sam Bankman-Fried finished testifying at a congressional hearing last December, Democrat Maxine Waters, chair of the House Financial Services Committee, blew him a kiss as he walked by. And why not, since the shambolic 30-year-old former multibillionaire is acknowledged to be the second-biggest donor to the Democrats, after George Soros. He helped bankroll Joe Biden into the White House and had promised to donate $1 billion to help the party win the 2024 presidential election. There are those, such as Elon Musk, who allege that SBF, as he is called, already has funneled $1 billion of stolen customer funds to Dem causes via various dark money PACs. Others on Wall Street put the number lower, at maybe $500 million. Perhaps that was the entire point of FTX, at least in the end. "Scammy Sammy" - a pawn for the establishment's money launderers..... Wouldn't be surprised if he winds up "suicided".......

  4. You're right about Brees. I misunderstood the headline earlier today. Probably just a two week operation.

  11. Oddly enough, it wasn't until I moved up here over a couple of decades ago that I learned about Mart's dominance ... and Aledo's. Prior to moving up to Indiana, and coming out of a big 6A Texas school which currently boats over 3,200 students, I must confess that I was a "big school bigot." I've since come to love small school ball. I'm more familiar with Refugio via their FFA program and the fact that my old high school is more populated than the city. 🙂

  12. Rep'ing the smaller schools here... Class 2A, Div. 2 (smallest class/div in 11-man) Mart (15-0) vs. Albany (13-2) tonight. This will be Mart's 13th time playing for a championship with 8 wins. Three-peated in 2017, 18,19; runner up in 2020; knocked out in the semi's in 2021 by 4 pts. Class 2A, Div. 1 Refugio (14-1) vs. Hawley (15-0) Thursday. This will be Refugio's 10th time playing for a championship with 5 wins. 2019 was both the last appearance at the ship and the last title. Their coach has been jokingly referred to as one of the most hated high school football coach in Texas. Class 4A, Div. 1 China Spring (14-1) vs. Boerne (15-0) Friday. China been to 4 championships, with 2 titles. One of those wins was last year, so looking to repeat. When my kids played (youngest graduated in 2018) we played Mart, they were a bigger school then and in our district, that was 100% a guaranteed "L" for us. There's something in the water in that community, and also Refugio. I'll bet @foxbat knows about Mart, maybe Refugio. Somewhat familiar with Aledo's program, from reading about them in news and on football forums. I think their coach wasn't real well liked either, for the same reason as Refugio's.

  14. The biggy I see in SW Indiana is the ref who stands over the ball until the defense is basically set....as if he is waiting for them before allowing the ball ready for play. This makes tempo offenses not so tempo.

  15. Welp, completely underwhelming hire, REEKS of choice #7,8,9........ See what kind of staff building and recruiting chops Coach Walters has I do like his youth, but again, will Boilers be in same spot again in 3 years ??

  16. When a kicker has a better chance at winning Mr. Football over someone like Hansen or Tibbs it might be time to start re-thinking the award. Personally, I think the award should be open to all grades, not limited to seniors. I also don't have a problem recognizing the best player in each class either.

  17. Add this slight to the Cathedral QB not getting it two years ago. That also was a stunner.

  18. Coach Hummer was my freshman coach in 1969 at Rensselaer Central. Coach Siderwitz, Coach Geisman and Coach Hummer all influenced the direction I chose. Coach Hummer was an outstanding classroom teacher and an inspirational coach on the gridiron. I remember his wit and smile as if it were yesterday. My prayers go out for him and to his family! What a great man… George Gilbert, retired coach
